Good morning everyone,
I'm off shopping this morning with DS who wants to spend his birthday vouchers and money. This always makes me laugh - it's funny how aware of prices he is when it is his own money!
I need to bank some change he collected which I swapped for folding money, leaving me with half a ton of small coins.
Later he is going to his Dad's to watch the pay-per-view football which I won't pay for.
My freezer is nearly empty so I will defrost it later and then have a trip to Lidl to fill it up, as well as my cupboards, which are bare. We have a glut of baby tomatoes though which seem to have got the message that anytime this summer will be a good time to ripen. I think the recent cold weather has spurred them on and they are now going red by the dozen!
OH is presently tiling the kitchen floor, so hopefully a few more tiles will be laid at some point either today or tomorrow.
Was awakened by the smell of cinnamon and raisin loaf this morning which is always worth getting out of bed for. I also need to do some washing which I will start immediately I finish on here as it is a bright day and I can peg it out to dry. I also want to list some things on ebay as I have still not got round to giving it a try, although I have had success with Amazon marketplace. Ebay is just a bit more complicated but I am determined to give it a go today.
Have a great day everyone!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Morning everyone
This will probably be the last time that I'll be on here before we move, so I'll make the most of it!
We've managed to whittle the stuff down in the cupboards and freezer to virtually nothing, so here's hoping that we don't starve. I've got the last of our organic sausages out of the freezer for tonight and we'll be having them with eggs (poached) and baked beans. Probably some new potatoes too - to use them up! A friend has invited us round to his house tomorrow night so that we don't have to cook/have a takeaway.
Hopefully, we've changed all addresses but I realised last night that my graduation tickets may well go to the wrong address  I've written to the university (e-mail, anyway!) and hopefully I'll have caught it just in time. I want to graduate, damn it!
I got paid yesterday from my job, which was great. I couldn't believe it - well, I could but it was worth it. The supply agency don't have anything for me as yet, but they reckon that once we're moved I'll be in a better position - which is the exact reason why we're moving!
Anyway, more panic packing to do. See you folks soon.

How about doing a mail redirect then you'll catch anything that ends up being sent to the old address? I would definitely consider it especially as it's a rented place and you don't want any new tenants picking up bits of correspondance with your details on because of all this ID theft business"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

It's my birthday today (and sadly it is one with a "0" on the end) and I'm not feeling very positive about it - OH has had to go in to work, Son + girlfriend have gone away for the weekend so I'm all on my own and feeling low.
On top of this have had to pay son's Uni fees this weekend and car needs is first MOT today so a bit skint till pay day - I did a "rock-bottom" shop at Morrisons (£25 for 4 people - not bad, eh? proves I can still do it) and realised when I got home that I had forgotten what to do with half of the stuff I bought (cheap cuts of meat, etc)
However I have scoured the OS recipe boards and voila! I now have a brilliant menu for the next few days (till payday, anyway) with the aid of my wonderful slow cooker and enough to do to occupy myself till someone appears to keep me company and cheer me up a bit.
I confess I have quite enjoyed it, might do it again next week (hopefully I will be out of my gloomy mood by then!).
Any help cheernig me up gratefully received!

(((((hugs))))) Stella and have a Happy Birthday, even if it's virtually through MSE for now
I have to admit that I get enjoyment out of OS cooking and general living. To think that even 10 years ago I'd have laughed at someone like me. But times change as well as the fact we get older. We are the new breed of 'super-person', I think. We know what life really means to us and we can get our happiness and enjoyment out of the simple pleasures, without hopefully destroying our environment too much.
Blimey, that was getting a bit heavy. In view of that, make yourself an OS cake, sit and eat it and enjoy doing what YOU want to do today.

Hey
Well not alot done so far, but have rested this morning
1 washload done and dried, have retrained from doing another as not a full load and after the comments the other day-it got me thinking that i need to cut back on washing machine as much as poss as I already do alot. So, will put off till either later or tomorrow.
Stellagypsy-have a good birthday and (((((()))))) that your a little under the weather. You seem to have paid out alot of cash in such a small period of time. It always seems to happen this way. £25 for 4 people on food is fantatsic! I actually prefer the cheaper cuts of meat-especially in the slow cooker. I have posted a few recipes recently and they literally cost pennies each person and are well nourished meals with fresh veg and not just chips..lol. I love being so frugil (tight!) Im sure your be fine.
Weather has inproved here. Lamb stew in slow cooker, dd back from saturday school and has had a marmite sarnie, crisps, yogurt and choccy biccie-she does nothing but eat..lol.
I have a few questions about pulses but will open a new thread for it.
Might pop in later

Hi Chickadee, if you get stuck with the ebay stuff there some useful threads down on the ebay board plus there a few old style ebayers that will pitch in with advice here0 -
Well after a shaky start, (read the heart thread
) I've been shopping and have done my usual Saturday Morning Virus Checks. In case you're not aware of it - at least once a week you should start your computer in safe mode and run all your anti virus and anti spyware programs.
Anyway, got some rich scone mix resting in the fridge and am about to make pastry for an apple and blackberry pie, some orange curd tarts and some plum tarts, and four individual chicken pies. Everything except the scones go in the freezer though it'll be a tight squeeze so I might just have to sample a tart or two first
