Done 1 hour of ironing, but it hasn't made much of a dent in the pile. It's now so high that you'd need oxygen to get to the top of it!!

Have made meat and potato pie today, would usually make it like my mum does with a tin of stewed steak, but took the plunge and cooked beef with onion, carrots, turnip and parsnip for a couple of hours, tipped in some cooked pots and cooled, just need to get the pastry ready for the top. Also made a coconut and lime sponge with DS (age 3) who only helps so he can
    a. taste all the ingredients
    b. lick the mixer beaters and
    c. help with the washing up!!

Shall serve pie with broccoli as it already contains quite a bit of veg, looking forward to mopping gravy up with HM bread from this morning. Enjoy the rest of your day, soba.

    Hi all,

I've had a very busy week, sewing ,cleaning, ironing etc. but I'm off on my hols on Monday, can't wait.
I think all the clothes are sorted, just need to find all the extra bits and pieces that we take and sling them in the suitcases.
I've got yet another pan of tomatoes cooking for sauce, we've had so many this year.

Curry-Queen, sorry about your son, hope he improves soon, it must be very worrying for you. I hope when I get back that you'll have good news about your house move.
Hugs to anyone who needs them, hope all the ailments improve soon.
    Have a good weekend.

    Hi All'
Haven't posted for ages but have enjoyed reading about what you're all getting up to.
This week has been a real waste. Have done nothing...
I've got 4 loads of dry washing to put away any DH is back tonight and early as well. He left Milton Keynes at 3 but apparently M1 is awful so he's had to come off so maybe he won't be home as soon as I first thought.

I'm hoping that next week is a better week for me and I can get a bit more organised....
Have to agree with newgirl Ah..I'd love a day when I'm not having to think about the budget or breathe deeply to deal with children....and a housework fairy would come in handy every now and then...
One good thing though , my elderly cat has perked up since having antibiotics so perhaps there are a few more years in the old b*gger yet....

A better night last night :D Weather here in London is cold and damp-hopefully will brighten up later.

2 washloads to do today, had to use the TD yesterday as it was so wet here and may have to do the same today-thats basically it for me today :p

Cleaner came yesterday and did a great job. OH if dry, is going to mow lawn and a little weeding. He must have made 3 pizzas this week-he is addicted lol. Last night he made one with meatballs, chillis, sweetcorn and mozarella  It did look nice and for 60p or something-who cares :o

DD has saturday school today and has asked for pancakes and bacon for breakie  will try and get her to just have a bacon sarnie if poss. We recorded a film the other night and may watch it whilst shes out this morning.

Think I will knock up a lamb stew today in the slow cooker. Havent had one in a few weeks and can pick at it for lunch and dinner-probably do a few dumplings too :T Have been invited out for dinner tomorrow at BIL (hopefully a roast). It will be nice to get out and have a change of scenery.

Anways, I will call back in later.

    'Morning Penny Pincher :hello:

Glad to hear you had a much better night :D Hope the weather keeps nice for you. Yesterday up north it was wet in the morning but turned out nice in the late afternoon.

I've been up since 4 am writing recipes down in my little kitchen book - I'm going to try the cottage cheese and fish burger recipes this week. I went to bed last night at 8 pm because I was so tired ... so I'm going to out of kilter all weekend now

Today we are going to continue the mad packing ready for our move next weekend. The units in the front room are going to be dismantled today (I will be following OH with stickers to put on everything to explain how to put everthing back together again :rotfl:)
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

    Morning peeps.

Not happy bunny - should be in bed!!
The 2 littliest ones woke up an hour ago - I was up till midnight doing stuff I'd bought home from work yesterday, so got about 5hrs sleep.

Well, I am finishing off the stuff this morning, but I do not enjoy bookkeepping and coffee at 5.30am! (I do enjoy getting paid for it, so I am more grumbling than complaining!)

But, I do have to go into town later this morning - I still have some Thorntons vouchers to use that were bought for my birthday next month, so I am going to spend them!!

I am also going to buy some of those storage bags where you suck all the air out of them. I need to put the summer clothes away now so am going to try the JML ones from Woolworths that are £9.99 for two.

And finally buying some material to make bedsheets out of for the 3yr old. We have bought her a new bed - but a small Junior bed (like Cot Bed size) due to space constraints. But as bedding for these are so expensive, I am going to make the little ones their own matching duvet covers and sheets!

Spaghetti Bolognaise for dinner in the slow cooker today.

At work today from 8.30am to 4.45pm then it's my sister's hen party tonight. So no money saving going on today, in fact quite a lot of money spending tonight i guess!
  • Hiya everyone :hello:

Awake since 6 as DS1 came in for a cuddle and generally just to squiggle around :) We (that is me and boys) are breakfasted but Mr TM still snoring loudly :D I'm trying to tempt boys into drinking some of my smoothy, but they are even less impressed with this one as it has blueberries in than the usual ones with strawberries :)

DS2 has already managed to brain himself this morning, falling off a chair. Somehow he didn't put his hands out and landed smack on his forehead - nice bump which I shall be slathering with arnica gel when he isn't looking :D

Today I shall be doing laundry as I haven't done any for a couple of days and it's mounted up. It's also sunny today so out on the line with it all. Will have to do general cleaning as well, but hopefully Mr TM will take both boys with him into town so give me a couple of hours peace.

I shall concoct something for tea - must delve into thoae far flung corners of the freezer to see what lies within :D My yog making is going OK too - now have another tub of greek style yog in the fridge. Pity only me will eat it though :D Their loss!

    Have a good day everyone

    Morning all,

Bright and breezy here again this morning so will get my whites out on the line when they've finished spinning. Made everyone get up and have breakfast together this morning - we seem to have all got out of the habit with all the early starts we've been having.

Off to do the supermarket shop in an hour (just waiting for DH to get out the bathroom - what do men do in there for so long????) Off to pick up our lawnmower from freecycle contact this afternoon :j but won't be back until after tea time so will try and cook for DD's at lunch time to save getting a take away.

Off to the zoo tomorrow if it's not raining (free tickets) and they've all requested beef done in the slow cooker ---- means I can get away with buying a big lump of braising steak rather than a joint of beef. Can pop it going before we leave and know that dinner's sorted for when we return.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

    Morning to everyone.

I managed to have a lie in until 7.30am, as OH took DS downstairs when he woke up at 6am this morning. I am happy as I can now start planning my Xmas hampers for Outlaws etc as I made my last batch of maramlade late last night.:j . I'm hoping to go into town this afternoon with my friend, to spend my birthday vouchers, leaving DS with OH. MUst go now and try and do something with my hair, which looks like I've been dragged through a few hedges:eek: .

    Have a good day, everyone
