Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning all

I am a happy bunny - not having to go to (office) work until Wednesday YIPPEE!!!(although there is a bit of baby-work I am doing on Monday morning - but that's just a bit of cash work and no aggro attached to it).

My house is a TIP and I am going to clean but I don't consider this as heavy work because it gives me a certain satisfaction to look after my home - which has been left in the hands of my teenagers for the last week or so while I was in Italy with DH visiting my family.

Loads of ripe tomatoes in the garden to be picked up and turned into sauce as tonight is pizza night, as we have a young guest, friend of my kids.

I might be able to catch a pilates class at 11:45 if I get on with it now, so I shall say BYE!

    Glad to be back!

Love to all and have a great weekend

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

DH got paid today - got his new payrise included in this months money too so bank account looked really healthy.....but the smug feeling was short lived when I found out the dishwasher has sprung a leak and the kitchen floor is all lifting in one corner!!!!!! Then DH got in the car and it made a very sick noise and refused to start, called out the breakdown people and they think it's a combination of duff battery and starter motor on it's way out! I know I should be pleased that there's money in the account to cover the repairs but isn't it just sods law!!!

    :D That is SO true!!

Looks like it's gonna rain in NW London.

    Have a good day all!

    I know that feeling too.
I have felt like that all week. I just go and do some baking, trouble is my waist line is expanding fast.
Comfort eating. I "allow" myself a certain amount and then I "allow" myself a little bit more... then I get strict with myself! Oo-er!! :)

As it is I've pottered about a bit and I'm just doing a quick read through the board and will then, hopefully, now that I've got started, potter about a bit more; but I'm definitely on for a slow day today I think. No point in fighting it I just get too tired, so I'll go with the flow and be pleased if I get anything more than nothing done :)

Since I've already done that I'm on a winner :D

  • Morning everyone :hello:

Didn't sleep at all well last night, was up and down like a yo-yo, so feeling pretty grotty this morning. Eldest seems to have taken a turn for the worst in the last day or so, which isn't good. Spoke to him briefly on the phone again last night while his dad was there but he didn't really make much sense, some of it quite disturbing. They're taking him for a brain scan today but that's about as much as I know for now as I can't bring myself to phone the hospital just yet so I only know what his dad told me last night.

Still no news on the house front, but I guess these things take time and they have to wait until something is available, but every time I hear the letterbox go in the morning I keep hoping to see a letter from them. Funny really cos I know I'll go into a blind panic when I do get it wondering how the hell I'm going to organise everything LOL!

Not being particularly OS today as dinner is going to be a carton of Covent Garden Italian chunky soup, which has been languishing in the freezer for months and was a 10p reduced end of date product, so no idea till it defrosts and I open it whether it will be ok to still use. Anyway, if it is then I'm going to add some pasta and have that with some HM bread tonight.

I better go and sort out all the animals now as I've not even looked at any of them yet this morning. Should just be a quick check over and water changing routine as it's not a feeding day today, although the baby ones might need cleaning out, messy little bleeders they are

Hope everyone else is having a good day and *hugs* to anyone who needs them :)

Up at 7.15 this morning as I wanted to watch 'The Demon Headmaster' :D
We used to watch this program when the kids were little and read all the books so very nostalgic for me(the kids think Im a bit sad).
Woke DD at 8 and then went and dug and sowed seed, chopped weeds etc till 9,nipped in to see DD was busy and nipped out till 10 to finish gardening before the rain which is forcast for about lunch time.
Dont feel like lessons at all so if DD is willing :p,maybe we'll do some cooking instead.
DS comes home early today so we'll probably have cheese ommelette and bread and marg for lunch.
We nipped out to the library and shops yesterday and I found quite a good book on greenhouse gardening from the charity shop.
I managed to trip over on the bottom stair yesterday and sprawl all over the floor(my bag was in the way so my own stupid fault) so I've got a bit of an achey wrist today,I think I sprained it,though its only a twinge so will probably be fine in a couple of days.Im always telling OH to please not leave his bag at the bottom of the stairs and then its my own bag I fall over (DOH!)
Tea will be something with the rest of the bacon, probably pizza or quiche.OH is on duty tonight (he eats there)so probably pizza as we cut it in 3 instead of 4 and gorge on it greedily.

Spent yesterday throwing up and DD was ill all through last night.

Have her tucked up on sofa with duvet and as she cannot even keep water down, went out to get her fruit ice lollies and full sugar lemonade.

Left house in sleeveless top skirt and sandals as it was such a nice day.

While in supermarket - the heavens opened! I got drenched!

Popped into charity shop and got waterproof coat from Next for £2.50 and slosshed home with that over my head.

Got home - pleased with my bargain! Read washing instructions - do not hand wash - do not machine wash- do not tumble dry - looks as if you cannot even dry clean it.

I think I can guess why it went to charity!

May try Febreze on it later.

    Hello All,

Hope you dont mind me joining the thread, I'm a bit of a newbie so don't know any of you. All of your posts sound so familiar.ie.loads of housework, sick kids, money woes etc...wouldn't it be heaven to just have one perfect stress free day to ourselves?!? I'm looking forward to that happening in about 18 yrs time when my youngest up and leaves, ho hum. Is foggy and raining in essex too, hate having to day all the laundry without a tumble dryer or radiators, we have warm air heating. Roll on next summer aye. I really should go and get on with the washing up, lord knows no-one else will do it!

Hope you all have a fab day and the weekend is somewhat relaxing!

    Welcome to OS Ah.

It's come over all grey and yucky now so washing's in. Made one large quiche and 2 small ones, some cheese and ham straws and with the left over pastry i've made myself a cheesy, tuna, tomato roll thingy....it's cooking as we speak and smells lovely!

Working this afternoon - but only for a few hours.

Least I feel I've achieved something today - yesterday was a bit of a waste of a day off really - but nice to just kick back and relax sometimes.

    Hi everyone
It's overcast here but it's not allowed to rain because I haven't brought my coat with me!! I'm at work today so not much OS going on. Very pleased yesterday because found a CD with Gilbert & Sullivan songs on which will be perfect for my friend for Xmas- half price in MVC and down to the princely sum of 99p. Think I can probably stretch to a second gift for her aswell!! The small person and I are off to the deli counter at Sainsburys after school in order to pick out some of their Chinese dishes. We're having a special meal en famille to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday next week. No cooking. Hurrah!! After that I shall do the weekly menu and shopping list and if I've still got the energy a bit more of the hall painting. We're off to Ightham Mote this weekend bending the old National Trust cards again.
    Have a good weekend
    Regards
