There is no need to feel embarassed - the house is a tip and the ironing is in two 6 foot piles!!!

    Wish I were joking.

Put chicken curry in slow cooker to use up nan bread that DD bought me.

Daughters will have pizza - hope to have enough curry to freeze some.

been into York this morning and got registered on the supply teaching register for the council - need to wait for all the checks to go through now - then OH treated me to a cup of tea and muffin and had a little browse in the shops (no buying).

Been packing up all the bits and pieces in our living room since we got back - thinking about going and collecting my repeat prescription and trying to get our contents insurance sorted for our new flat.

Must get some washing done today and empty and refill dishwasher too :o - need some motivation

  • I would say "morning", but it's well into the afternoon now and not long until DS is home from school! ... been a bit of a strange morning/day so far!

PP- you put me to shame even on your rough days!!! :p:D

TM - hope you managed to tackle the airport ok :)

LTS - hope the dinner turns out well :)

culpepper - I've read many of your posts about your lifestyle and home-schooling your children, and I really admire you! I'd love to do what you do but unfortunately, due to illness, I live a very isolated and solitary existence and would feel terribly guilty imposing that on my youngest by keeping at home to school him, as we wouldn't be able to explore all the things I would like together. We've discussed it often and have agreed that at this moment in time he's better off in school around other people and his peer group, but who knows what the future may bring ;)

Well, I don't seem to achieved very much today so far, at least not to look at, although I've been kept busy with various things that have cropped up. The washing up seems to be building up again at the moment and will have to be tackled before making dinner tonight, although I haven't even given that any thought as yet, so no idea what we'll be having. I've got some pre-cooked stuff in the freezer if necessary, or could knock up a quick pasta dish or something, but I'll wait till DS comes in and see what he fancies. I've not ruled out the possibility of a take-away yet, but we're getting more and more limited in choice of what to have because my home-cooked versions taste so much better! LOL!

Take-away pizza, Indian, Chinese, chicken, burgers etc has lost it's appeal, so we're left with fish 'n' chips or kebabs really, neither of which I particularly fancy

    I've run into complications...

Presumably what they're trying to do is sort out matters in such a way that there is some continuity rather than have a complete change when the time comes. If the current team know who will be taking over they can advise them (even keep them completely up to date) as things move along and, if necessary, they can adjust their own efforts to make the transition more seamless.

If it's all down to pecking order and territory though... gawd 'elp us all, each and evry one.

    Good afternoon all,

DD's packed off to school this morning with last nights chicken and veg soup in their food flasks......came running out of school asking for the same again tomorrow - i'm guessing that's a hit then! Had to get up early to do the school run with 4 kids this morning so really feeling it now.....Popped off to Canterbury with a friend to look for winter coats.....Is it just me or do people not wear coats anymore. I have the same problem every time I try and buy one, they're either too short, too thin, or at the opposite end of the scale they come down round your ankles and are so padded you end up looking like a michellin man! All I want is a decent winter coat that will put up with the endless trudging about in the wet and snow that I seem to have to do. So came back minus the coat but got some xmas pressies and had a good time in Anne Summers embarrasing my friend by talking a little too loudly ;)

Tea will be left overs - I got treated to a pizza hut buffet and am still feeling stuffed. Then it's tackle the ironing time. The house is sparkly clean and tidy after the weekends efforts and I just need to run the hoover around in the morning before work. Tomorrows dinner (chicken curry) is in the fridge, so i'll just have to throw some rice going at the last minute.

Really being plagued by crane flies - does anyone know if the citronella candles deter them at all??? Got some I could put in my lanterns by the back door, just sick of having them fly at me all the time - usless things!

Anyway - hope you've all had a great day

  • Yeah I can see what you mean Squeaky, as usual it's always easier to put things into perspective after the event as such, but they caught me unawares when they phoned this morning. I rarely, if ever, answer the phone unless I'm expecting a call, or can see on the ID display who it is, but the last couple of weeks I've taken to forcing myself to answer "unavailable" or "withheld" numbers in case it's from the hospital and important.

  • Just a quick one to add - I've just had a call from my son (the first since he was admitted) and I'm absolutely over the moon :j

Ok, I know it might sound silly to some of you, but the fact he's actually called me and acknowledged I'm his mum is absolutely fantastic!!!! ... and I can barely see through the tears whilst typing this :o

All I need to do now is somehow conquer this damned agoraphobia so I can actually go up and visit him. It tears me apart to think I can't go and see him and give him a big hug and tell him everything's gonna be ok :(
