Hi all, not much old style going on here today as it's DD2's first day at school. She finishes at 12 for the next two weeks so I collected her and went and treated us both to something nice for lunch :D

This to compensate for the fact that she looked so little and lost when I left her in her class and I went out into the playground and sobbed. That's it, my last baby at big school!!

  • TM - It's all the recent stress hun. I always find I have weird and disturbing dreams when I've got a lot on my mind, or feeling particularly stressed, and they can seem so real that sometimes it affects your whole mood for the rest of the day :(

Anyway, I'm feeling a bit more relaxed now than I did earlier (I think phoning my landlord and having a rant at him might have helped ;) ) and about ready to go tackle the mess I made in the kitchen earlier! The cinnamon loaf is in the BM and the ice cream has had it's first whipping and is back in the freezer, so once I've cleared up I'm going to go and have a play in the kitchen and see if I can't poison us both with some other new concoction tonight :rotfl:

Gonna have a quick coffee and give the hospital a call first though and then set to it :D

    Catch you all later

Oh what fun I've had this mornin:rolleyes: I've been after a clothes spinner for a while now cos my machine doesn't spin very fast and I want to be able to go most of the winter without using the tumblebumble. After scouring my local car boots etc I've drawn a blank but have precured a twin-tub instead so this morning I've been putting it tho it's paces.

Boy is it moneysaving - 4 loads of washing done in one lot of hot water and one lot of soap powder. Start with lights and get progressivly darker.

Boy is it hard work - hefting wet stuff from one tub to the other with tongs and fishing around the tub for that one last sock only to find it an hour later dropped on the landing.

Boy is fast - dark colours take about 2 mins, push the boat out for whites and give them 4.

Boy does it spin well - the stuff comes out practically dry.

Boy is it messy - forgot to put the hose back in the sink after returing suds to tub and ending up giving the floor and unplannedwash. I've now got the cleanest feet in the world.

Don't think I could cope using it full time for washing (although my Mother did for years) and I now feel guilty using my regular machine knowing how little water and powder you need for a weeks wash. but with a 2500 spin I shall deffo be using the spinner.

  • Ah, memories. My first machine was a twintub courtesy of MIL and I had many a happy (?) hour on a saturday morning with a twintub full of steamy water, the hose flicking off the sink onto the floor and the windows steaming up so much you'd have thought I was distilling the stuff :D

ps wouldn't give up the convenience of my Miele now though :D
  • i've got a ton of tidying up to do but just feel sooo lazy today (felt really ill yest). The front room is just a mess somehow the kids have managed to drag loads of stuff out of their room into it and its just sitting there waiting for me to pick it up.
Kitchen is fairly tidy just a few bits of washing up to do but the floor needs mopping which i hate hate hate doing and i've gotta hang DS nappies on the line to dry.
    Bleugh must get on.....

    Been there done that :rotfl:

DD is back from school with another sticker - thats 4 in as many school days! Did the bits shopping - Spent £2.12 in the Co-op on 6pints of milk and a packet of Wotsits ! Bought DD a new toothbrush (she keeps chewing the bristles  ) and some fruit including a almost green banana to put with my tomatoes - the fella must think I'm mad as I bought a bunch of yellow ones and then grabbed one green one from another box :rotfl: Just sat and sorted out housekeeping and in theory I have £15.37 left until the 27th - but I have cheated by upping my budget by £20 to buy food for an unexpected and then non-materialising visit from IL's :o Don't know whats happened this month. October may be a rations month in prep for the 5 week month of November ;)

I need to sort out ebay listing which didn't sell. Already put the items that were relisted but haven't sold in a bag marked Charity shop. Then I can start working on photographing & listing items that need to be done. I'm sure OH would like to be able to get to his coat and bike that are currently under the stairs. Infact I might do the ironing then clear out all the material which is in underthere with the ebay stuff :o This old styling is great with all the recycling but the stuff does take up so much space! :p:rotfl:

Off for a quick Neopets visit then I best get on with MORE dishes (they're soaking pans this time though ;) )
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

My house is the same Nicki - full of various piles of recycling - we only get paper collected door to door here so have lots of cardboard and plastic bottles to take to the recycling banks at the tip in a minute.

So far haven't done that much today - feeling really fed up as I don't want to move and now it's almost time to (get the keys on Friday) it's a bit scary.

Have taken the now dry washing off the airer and will put our dressing gowns in to wash in a minute (electricity is included in our rent here but not in our new place so making the most of it and using the washing machine lots at the moment so that everything possible is washed before we move ;)

Need to get my repeat prescription from the doctors, OH needs to post a lego order that's eventually been paid for (sells lego online  ) and then we'll have a tip run I think. Need to get the leftovers from yesterdays car boot out the car first though - had to park so far up the street yesterday afternoon it's a bit too far to be lugging stuff up and down and then decide what to do with it all - some we'll keep for another car boot (can afford the space for a small box - some I might ebay - I'm an ebay selling virign at the moment :o ) and some we'll charity shop I think.

Anyway better get on. Had fish and chips out yesterday lunch in the end so didn't have a proper meal last night so got some extra food - think it's going to be a stir fry tonight - OH can make that for me ;)

Take care everyone and have a good rest of day

  • Hey

Have just recieved my shopping from Asda. Well the chickens that were priced at £1 each on the website and trolley were charged at full price. I had ordered 6, so should have been £6 and was charged £17.76  also 3 eggs were broken, box of burgers had started to soften and so had the chicken breasts. I have just sent a very firm email to them about the chickens and that I now have a box of burgers and 2 bags of chicken breasts that I can not freeze as they have started thawing and 3 broken eggs. Im really not impressed. I have asked for a refund on the chickens (the difference anyway) as they are still priced at a £1 each, and asked what they would like me to do with the breasts and burgers as they were for the freezer. I know I can cook and freeze but thats beside the point!! We will wait and see what they have to say.

Anyway...sorry about that. On a brighter note, I have just sold a John Lewis bedding set (cover & 6 p/cases) on ebay for £45.00...im in total shock

In the mood for moaning today..lol. OH had 2 birdseye chicken pies for lunch today and both pies only had 3/4 pieces of chicken in them. So I emailed them and have just received one back and they are sending me £4 of vouchers :D Im being a naughty naughty girl today

Why do you say you are in a moaning mood - it's your hard earned cash that Asda and Birdseye have and if you've paid for something that's not right you have every right to complain - you arn't moaning and I think you are a clever, clever girl :T . I don't think people complain enough and that's why we get shoddy goods. Complain away P_P. I would back you up 200%. Plus if you were wrong why would they send you vouchers?
