OH hasn't long phoned to say he's just stopped off at the services south of the M6 Toll to get something to eat and make sure he's got change. So he's expecting to be in sometime around 4pm :j :j:j He says I'll like the car, although there is less boot space it seems bigger inside. I don't care personally, its a newer car which needs a few minor things doing (2 new tyres and something about the brake pads are starting to wear  ) and it's silver and has a CD changer so there won't be anymore of me bumping my head on the dashboard as I bend down to look in my bag for another CD to put on

House is clean. The floors downstairs need washing but that can wait until Tuesday or something. The ironing still needs to be done but I REALLY don't want to do it. Stuff it out defrosting to make tea so I guess I had better get on with things since DD still needs to have a bath tonight after tea ready for school tomorrow and I need to dry her hair which can takes ages sometimes  Just one more check on Ebay and then I'll go...honest :shhh::o

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
  • Afternoon :D

Well managed to get 2 washloads done and dried on line. Its looking abit iffy out there now so glad its all done and dusted ;) OH helped me outside & laid in my new hammock thing with a blanket over me for 1/2hr-nice to get some fresh air.

Chicken is in oven. Stuffing all done just needs 20mins in the cooker, yorkie batter made and ready to go, OH just peeling some spuds & carrots and have decided on sprouts to go with it with a ton of gravy :D

DD not been well today-woke up with a sore throat & temp, so shes been on sofa and been given Calpol and Nurofen throughout day. Shes managed to eat OK though and still be gobby-so shes fine for school in the morning :p She has done her homework and been asleep for an hour this afternoon and keeps asking when is the roast going to be done. Seems OK to me.

OH has put clothes away for me, swept through and hoovered the mat. We watched Spiderman this morning and Bigfish this afternoon as DD wasnt well. Ive had to put my glasses on today as my head has been playing up-havent worn them in ages  makes me look intelligent though ;)

I dont know if I told you, but the other day my mum called and asked if i wanted a steam press iron thing (the ones that you pull down). Apparently she had bought a new model and doesnt need it anymore-so has given to me...hopefully I will be able to use ok, should be OK you only have to pull the top down..i think  Anyway its a freebie and there over £200. Shes only had it a year  She has way to much money..lol. Does anyone else use these?

Have just added a few more bits to the shopping coming tomorrow, hot choc, lemonade, cola all smart price though :o

Anyway, may or may not call back in later.

Hope everyones having a good day.

  • I've just realised the time as DS has just come back from his footie match and I haven't moved out of this chair yet, apart to go to the kitchen for coffee and bread :o

I'd planned to have a long soak in the bath while he was out and strip the beds too

I blame you lot for keeping me here with all your posts :p:D

Hi Yall, I popped into Co-op on the way back from Church and squandered my £5 divvy voucher on a 2ltr bottle of super reduced German plonk which I've drank most of without help then in a squiffy state proceeded to cook brisket in oxtail gravy, yorkies, roasties, carrots, peas and brocolli with Eve's pudding 'n' custard. I've years of experience serving Christmas dinners fully-cooked while I'm half-cooked and as their plates are all empty so it must have been OK. :D Going to go and rest my eyes for a moment or two. Have a good day

4oz plain flour, 3 eggs, 1/2pt milk and pinch of salt - whisk it all up then leave to rest for half an hour or so - oven on at gas 7 and heat up some oil/lard or whatever in a tin/bun tray till it's smoking - add batter quickly (should sizzle) and bung back in oven superquick then leave completely alone for 25-30 mins. The voila - nice big puffy yorkie puds :D

    Good afternoon all,

After promising ourselves we'd get up early - we didn't! Popped off to a bootfair this morning - got DD1 a lovely skirt for 50p..DH got 3 computer games for a pound each so he'll be kept quiet this week! Popped into the tip on the way and got rid of all our plastic bottles, amazing how quickly they mount up.

Home for a good tidy up, sorted out a few bits in the garden that needed doing...our lawn mower died on tuesday and we decided to have a look around at boot fairs over the next couple of weekends to see if we can pick one up that will tide us over for a while, but found one on freecycle last night so will go pick it up next weekend!! :T

Been sorting winter clothes out from the loft all weekend - managed to get them all washed, ironed and put away ( a job I really hate) and all the summer stuff, bar a few t-shirts, are sitting in the hall waiting to go in the loft tonight.

Shopping today was £49 from lidl and £8 in morrisons.....that has included enough flour for the month for bread, enough dishwasher powder, vinegar and washing up liquid for about 2 months and enough food for at least 9 dinners. Got loads of fruit too as it's half price in lidl, but the way all my after school charges go through it, I'll be lucky if it lasts half the week!!

DH has been an angel today, he's got a curry going in the slow cooker, roast chicken bits and all the trimings currently in the oven, and he made some cookies for lunch boxes!! :D

Right - must go lay the table then after tea it's time to attack the paperwork, must get everything up to date for my OFSTED inspection this week...wish me luck!!!

    Have a nice evening all.

Pooky...good luck with the OFSTED inspection. We generally have one too for DD's homeschooling .

    Madly busy all day today!
Got up at 6.30 and got a shower before everyone nabbed the hot water, then I went into the garden and put up the 2nd pvc greenhouse on the space we cleared yesterday. It was about 9.30 by the time I had finished and made up my weekly list so we could go shopping. We went to Lidl for the fruit/veg and then Asda for the rest so spent about £23 all.Had lunch (fish finger sandwiches) then went into town for some PVC repair tape from Maplins as I managed to tear the cover on greenhouse 1(already ) ,it was my own fault as I forgot to tighten the joints before doing up the zip. After mending the pvc ,I dug over a bed in the veg garden for green manuring(still got 3 beds to do so a long job).Harvested some spinach and came in to make tea.We had Chilli with baked pots .I make it plain and serve DS then add chilli for everyone else.DS cant stand anything even a little spicey.DH made Rhubarb crumble for afters so we're all groaning under the strain of full tums now :)

I did my first car boot sale today so was up at 6am  but it was really good - much better than the one we went to do a reckie at last week - much less traders.

Came home with £35.25 and it was stuff we really wanted to get rid of as we're moving next weekend so we were really pleased :j then went to scarborough and walked on the beach and had fish and chips

really need to get on with the tidying and sorting and washing now - but think Ive got a bit of sunstroke so just having a rest
