  • Morning All :hello:

Hope you are all well. Up again early-alot of pain and needed the loo which is downstairs and couldnt get back up them, so have stayed on sofa. Only a few weeks till stair lift is in

2 washloads to do including changing DD's bedding-hopefully weather will be nice and blowy and not wet. I have some paperwork to sort out and file and letters to prepare to be sent off etc tomorrow, so that will take me a while..lol. OH is going to put some skirting around in DD's room today and they are out this afternoon-so mabe watch a film or something  probably will end up back on here.

Got a medium chicken out for dinner, so having a roast (as we always do on a sunday  ) of: Roast chicken, roast potatoes, mash, HM yorkies, swede & carrot mash, cabbage, stuffing & gravy. Pudding will be jelly & cream. There will be enough chicken for HM chicken pie and 2 sarnies-if shredded properly

Have a ton of parcels to wrap from selling on ebay, but OH sold his bike yesterday for £122 and he owes his mate £100, so will leave him with a little but really just wanted to clear the £100. His mate hasnt asked for the money but would just like it paid off ASAP as i hate owing money to friends or family. He has seen a BN bike in Woolworths for £50 so might just get that one instead if he really wants another bike.

We all need a few bits of clothing, so suggested that in 2 or 3 weeks if Im up to it, we can go to a Bootsale and get what we need or want with some spare cah ive been saving. DD needs some winter clothing-tops, skirts, boots, etc, OH needs jumpers, sweatshirts, coat, jeans etc and I need jumpers, trousers, black winter coat etc. Also i would like a yogurt maker, some oven ware dishes (for toad in hole/lasagna etc) and maybe a waffle maker to try :o . We are all great at haggling. Few weeks ago OH & DD went to a Bootsale and was shocked with what they had bought. OH bought all from the same stall a pair of BN Diesel jeans, designer shirt, quicksilver jeans, me a green liz claibourne jacket, 2 pairs of BN jeans/trousers and a top for me and all were 50 p each-so £3.00  DD bought some animal files 11 of them and were the ones people collect each week for £3 and she got the full set of binders about 250 magazines for £4.00  he said he wanted £7...she said no £4 and he let her have them  I think they spent £20 between them and was very gob-smacked to say the least. OH would never have done this a year ago. I mean it makes sense either pay 50p for a BN Diesel pair of jeans or buy new from the shop at £60+ Im training them both well :rotfl:

I am going to start writing down things we need, either clothes or things needed around the home and work out what we can afford to take with us, but we should have enough-ive been so careful..lol. I would like a white whicker launfry basket too...lol.

Anyway, Im off to check on current account, credit cards etc and balance them with my quicken money-do an update and see what money we have or dont have ..lol.

Breakie is a bacon sarnie & juice, lunch a small jacket spud with ham & coleslaw, and dinner is the roast chicken.

    Catch up later.
    Have a great day. :grouphug:

'Morning Penny Pincher :hello: ... sorry to hear you are having so much trouble this morning. The stair lift will make a huge difference to your life, it sounds so difficult for you at the moment.

Your lunch sounds wonderful ... I'm drooling at the thought of roast chicken.

I'm car booting today, selling rather than buying, as we are clearing the house ready to move. You are right about the bargains ... I pick up some lovely work clothes (blouses mainly) from the car boot. It is so easy to keep smart. I also buy all my cookware from the car boot sales too. I would never have been able to afford such a well stocked kitchen if I had to buy from the shops.

Have a lovely OS day car booting, Penny Pincher :D

  • Morning early birds :hello:

I thought it was Monday today, hence being up so early! :o

Anyway, got the washing machine on, a granary loaf in the BM and a litre of yoghurt on the go and just sitting down to my first :coffee: of the day! Not quite sure what we're cooking for dinner yet today, will ask DS what he fancies when he gets up, although I should imagine it will be a pasta dish of sorts as I'm cooking from storecupboard stuff this week.

There's bacon and eggs in the fridge for brekkie and soup for lunch, so that's sorted. Hey and guess what? ... there's no washing up to do this morning as I did it after dinner last night

It makes such a difference and I'm more inclined to pop in the kitchen and do some baking this morning while he's out at his :footie: match :D

Gonna spend an hour or so browsing while I have my coffee then get DS up and sorted as I can't remember what time he's playing today. Hope you all have a lovely day

not much doing today, have no washing up as like C_Q I did it last night before bed,no clothes washing either as im up to date.we have bread so no breadmaking..........we are off out in half an hour though to a car boot sale, its a really big local one.i love going rummaging for books and things and have got loads of oldstyle type ones recently.also love getting clothes for my two LO's....baby/childrens clothes are soooooo expensive and worn for such little time i refuse to buy then new when i can go to car boot and pick them up for a £1 an item or less.

have to decide what to get out of the freezer for tea too.

    Hope everyone has good days.

Now there's a thing that I only slowly came to realise. It's much easier to get up in the morning when you know the kitchen is clean and tidy than it is when the kitchen is full of leftovers and plates and stuff.

That first cuppa, and maybe a slice of toast, in a neat kitchen sets me up for the day.

It's amazing the difference it makes walking into a clean kitchen first thing isn't it :D

If I still had last night's washing up in there I'd just have grabbed a coffee and walked out again (whilst groaning about the mess) and wouldn't have got the BM and yoghurt maker going so early ;)

My usual scenario is to do the cleaning up just before getting the next meal ready, which then leaves a mess again, so it's a perpetual cycle LOL!

LTS - I'm so glad you enjoyed your curry :D

As you no doubt realise now, the longest process is preparing the base sauce (which is why I make huge batches at a time) but once that's out the way it only takes about 10-15 mins to knock up a curry, even less if using left-overs!

  • Good morning :hello: :hello:

CQ - you made me laugh - that is exactly what I do (wash up before the next meals - and the cycle continues....) :rotfl:

Yesterday I pulled my DD's bedroom to bits and gave it a thorough clean (only managed to get rid of 1 box of toys though!!! DD didn't want to get rid of anything!!) Next time I'll do it when she's not there!

Today I will be ironing DD's school uniform, washing up last night's dinner (yuk!) and sorting out MY bedroom!!

I'm also going to clean the bathroom and hoover the stairs (hopefully OH and DD will do downstairs so we'll have a spotless house by the end of the day LOL!!

Have a good day one and all!! I'm off for a :coffee:
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Curry queen

Where can I find your recipe? It sounds fantastic.

Sitting here in jimjams and drinking tea while I catch up.

Spent yesterday taking DD back to second year at uni.

11 year old sobbed her heart out at her sister going away which was awful but she has cheered up now.

DH drove us there and waited while we got some stuff sorted then he drove back home with her sisters while I stayed and bought a few essentials and helped finish the sorting out, then got train back.

Suffering 24 hour mse withdrawal symptoms!!!;)
