Morning everyone :hello:
Hey Nicki - Isn't Neopets a kids game? :rotfl: I had to ban DS from playing that last year when I found out he'd run up my phone bill buying credits   (or was that Habbo Hotel thinking about it  )
It's lovely and sunny here this morning, blue sky, and doesn't seem that cold today! Got windows open (can't bare to have them closed) and just a nice gentle breeze blowing in. Makes me wish I had a garden to go sit in, but shouldn't have to wait too much longer now :j
DS is currently hiding under his duvet playing some :footie: game on his PC, whilst trying to make out he's still asleep cos he knows I've got a long list of jobs for him to do today, but I can hear him tap tap on the keyboard  :rotfl:
Had a phone call from middle son and think he's managed to successfully con me somewhere along the line LOL! (probably why he rang so early knowing I'd still be half-asleep!) but I stupidly let slip to him the other day that I have a Littlewoods account (only opened it to use a discount code and pick up a bargain) so he'd been rummaging through his dad's catalogue and wanted me to order some clothes and trainers for him and he'd give me the money monthly to pay it off. Ok fine I thought, not something I'd usually do as there's much cheaper places to get these things online, so I've ordered them for him and then as he was going he said "Oh btw my birthday's in a few weeks plus it's xmas soon so do you want to pay for some of them as a gift for me"!!! Kids!!!! :wall:
Think I'm going to do a bit of packing today. Got my delivery from Wing Yip last night and they sent it beautifully packed in a huge box full of poly chips and protective cardboard sleeves so that will be great to recycle and use to pack my delicate ornaments in :j ... think I might place another couple of orders so I can get more packing materials out of them :rotfl:
Other than that, just the usual jobs of washing up last night's dinner stuff (really must try and get that done the same evening as I hate walking into a cluttered kitchen first thing in the morning  ) doing cat trays/animal stuff, getting DS to run his errands to the local shops for veggies, milk etc and then trying to persuade him to make a start on sorting stuff out in his room! There's a ton of videos in there that I'm sure he doesn't watch anymore that can go on Ebay, and also need to sort out what clothes he's grown out of and what needs replacing etc for winter.
In the meantime I'm going to have another :coffee: before I make a start on the kitchen
Have a great day everyone!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Hello everybody,
It's nearly 8pm here and I'm so tired. Had a crappy night's sleep last night due to DH's snoring. No amount of shoving and kicking in backstopped him. I was hoping he'd roll over so I could then kick him in the front.:rotfl:Did some OS today though. Made another batch of HM laundry powder. Third one so far and it's working really well. I made a pot of bacon and corn chowder. New recipe. Was very yummy. It's cooling now so will freeze in batches soon. I have yet to do the dishes. Ho Hum.
It's been really windy here. Quite a bit of damage was done, but thankfully not near us. Power lines & trees down etc, boats smashed on to rocks. Hope you all have a nice day.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all :hello:
Well, I was so exhausted last night that I was asleep on the sofa by the end of the second Corrie, and woke up in time to drag myself up into bed just after 10pm. I'm now feeling refreshed and ready(ish!) to face the day.
OH and I are off to watch rugby today. We both have season tickets, so obviously want to go as much as possible. My parents also go too, so it's nice to meet them there and get a drink bought for us
. When we move in just over a week's time we'll be so much closer to the rugby (oh, and OH's parents and big sis and her family!), so I'm definitely looking forward to that.
On our way back, we'll be popping in via OH's big sis, bro-in-law and little nephew - for a cuppa. oh, and to see little nephew. He's going to be 1 next week, so not so little. Thankfully he's stopped crying constantly and now he prefers his Auntie Vicky making aeroplane noises and checking Auntie Vicky's split ends/pulling hair. :rotfl:
Just got to make sandwiches for our lunch, and get some turkey fillets out for a stir fry tonight. Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Yum.
Bye!

Hi everyone!!
Have been a busy lizzie this morning. Weekly shop done and put away and washing is out blowing on the line. Am now at work.....have left OH in charge of the small person and a wish list of jobs to do!! They're making jelly as part of the small person's Creative Beavers badge- that's what I like slave labour! This afternoon we have the delights of helping out at Colony Capers- 100 excited little Beavers. How gorgeous....at least the weather looks good. Am going to try and persuade myself to get the ironing done later so I get more free time tomorrow and we're going to make gingerbread in the BM. Enjoy your weekends

morning
havn't posted for ages - but have been dipping in and out whenever I can
Great ti catch up on all your news. I treated myself to a nice long lie this morning - the last week has been so hectic and non-routine that I think I deserved it. Although the disadvantages are that I have run out of meal plans and haven't been very OS!!! lol
Anyway, meeting a friend for coffee in town, so that should be nice, if I don't get soaked trying to get there. It's really horrible weather - I even had my hot water bottle out last night and have the c heating on for a little bit this morning.
Managed to secure a job nannying for freinds to help me pay for my uni course, although it doesn't start till October, when i'm back from Peru, which gives me time to settle back into studying etc. I'm quite looking forwrad to it to tell you the truth.
Off To Glasgow tomorrow to meet up with some friends for a cultural day - we are going to visit some charles rennie mackintosh buildings - no doubt we'll fit in a pub along the way....
Have a good weekend everyone, stay warm and have fun xxxr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I have not had a bad day so far today. I have had a lovely box of chocs off hubbie and dear son, as it is my birthday today. Also had some money and cards off my family and friends. Am trying to see if my mum might babysit for us later (fingers crossed). Shes only next door so would not have far to travel.
Am annoyed with Comet though. I was suppose to get my new freezer today, which was due in on Thursday, but will now not be in until next thursday. I have got a free delivery coming to my house, instead of paying £15.95 for it, but am glad I've not done any freezer shopping online yet.
I'm hoping that my day will only get better. Thanks for listening to me moaning on.
Best Wishes

morning all,
got two loads of washing washed and out on the line.breadmaker on as i just reaslised in a panic that my mum and dad are coming for lunch and i had no bread....so the aroma of italian herby bread will soon be filling the house
have washed up and wiped down kitchen worktops and cupboards and gone through the freezer and cupboard and written everything down. we are going to do menu plans but one of our main faults is impulse buys on supermarket shops,so we are going to empty pretty much the cupboard and freezer and try doing one huge supermarket shop every month and then just get fruit/veg/milk at local shops.hopefully that will cut us down.
got a chicken for tonight (morrisons £1.99) but have no idea what we are going to do with it yet!!! any suggestions?
P_P.....glad you found the cleaner better this week.
edited as powie sneaked in whilst i ewas posting and i wanted to say a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!0 -
Hello everyone
I've been a right old lazy bones this morning, laying in my bed reading while all around me the house is chaos. You'd think living on my own with just one kitty for company my house would be forever shiny - however that is mission impossible for me, I am so untidy. I'll have a good go at my bedroom today, it's positively making me unwell looking at the papers lying around all over the place.
I've got a load of washing done already, just waiting to be hung out to dry. The weather looks a bit iffy today so it might have to be done indoors.
My little kitty Tabitha was unwell during the week so it was panic stations for me after the heart-breaking unforeseen death of my Henry last weekend. She has a hyperactive thyroid anyway but was consitipated (aw bless!) and despite sustained efforts on the litter tray managed to produce nothing. She has been to the vet for a once over - he thought her a bit thin so upped her thyroid medication, then prescribed anti-biotics (to prevent complications from her stressed botty), cream for me to put on her bot, and liquid paraffin. Her constipation is definitely cured now, and she is otherwise fine apart from a lingering sore bot though the cream is helping.
I have half a ton of books to get rid of. I have been looking at Apprentice Tycoon's tips on selling books etc but have also been procrastinating about actually getting them onto e-bay or Amazon. Tomorrow never comes as they so, so I'm going to box them up and give them out around the charity shops today.
Happy birthday Powie69, hope you get loads of cards and special pressies.
All the best everyone, have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Birthday Powie :T ... hope you have a lovely day
Well, that's the kitchen all nice and sparkly clean again - all dishes washed and put away - cooker, worktop and cupboard fronts wiped down and floor mopped! Not for long though as I'm off to put a pan of onions on to boil in a moment to make a batch of curry base and also make some leek & potato soup for lunch.
DS has done his shopping errands but isn't very impressed that I forgot to put spring onions on the list which I need for our Chinese meal tonight  so he's got to go back out againHe's still made no attempt to sort out his room yet, and is currently having great fun grinding up spices in my pestle and mortar to make a new batch of garam masala
Feels strange having him here on a Saturday as he's usually at his dad's, so we're going to make the most of it and make a huge pot of popcorn and watch a DVD together this evening :j
Ok, back to the kitchen I go - no rest for the wicked today! (got to make the most of this sudden burst of energy I've found)
