Just got back from the laundrette - it's cost me £3.50 to wash my double 15 tog quilt as I needed to use the largest machine so that's come out of my PIN money. Plus another £1.50 (from PIN) in the dryer and it's still not 100% dry BUT the weather is so I've put it out on the washing line with some towels I washed this morning that aren't quite dry. Another wash load in, two left to do then there'll be another two over the weekend when I change the beds.
I have a sink full of empty jars soaking in warm water (to remove the labels). Going to have a look for some green tomato recipes as I want to get a couple of the tomato plants out this weekend and they're just not ripening.
DD has tried to be helpful, but is more of a hinderence in some cases
Decided on having potato wedges with the fish pie for tea so I'll be putting them in soon.
Going to go and dig out the Xmas videos, DD's choiceCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
We've won 2 2for1 vouchers to Cadburys world!!!!!! :j:j:j:j:j:j
mmmmmmmmm Chocolate.... :drool::drool:
Thats DD's Xmas pressie sorted - and her birthday as the vouchers expire in May 06 :T:T:T:T:T:T
Can you tell I'm excited! I'm quite happy to pay the entrance fee considering DD's reaction when I said "Would you like to go to a chocolate factory?" She ran around like a dog on speed chasing its tail shouting "The chocolate factory the chocolate factory!!!!" :rotfl:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
that's brilliant Nicki!
I went to Cadbury world about 3 years ago and it was fab
Get there nice and early to do everything (there might be a wee wait for some of the things) and take a good sized handbag in which to store the extra "freebie" chocolate you get on the way round (you get one bar per person per sort of section mostly, but you'd need to be eating it very fast to get through it all - We saved most of ours in my bag for later on
).
The factory shop is also well worth a visit - lots of overpriced tat admittedly, but also lots of overstocks and "misshapes" that are bagged up really cheaply.Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
Wow well done Nicki :T
I agree with greenlogo about taking a big bag
We took the kids when they were younger, for one of their birthdays, and we made the mistake of going into the shop first whilst waiting to be let in and buying lots of choccy stuff, not realising you get loads of freebie handouts!
We went in the October and they had all the Xmas ranges on display and a lot cheaper than in the shops too :j
Hope you all have a great time "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Cadbury world is fab! I live about half a mile away and you can sometimes smell the chocolate in the morning wafting over the rooftops....
Lots of OS activity planned for the weekend. I'm going to attempt making marmalade this evening, then tomorrow I'm having a bake-a-thon. Bought lots of yummy ingredients yesterday so I'll no doubt be the size of a house by Sunday night when I've eaten my way through all the cakes and biscuits.
Did someone mention Christmas as well? - I really had better speed up on my knitting otherwise I'll end up buying last minute presents.
Too much to do and not enough time!!0 -
oooh did i ever tell you nicki that your my favvvvourite sister?!
(mmmmm chocolate!)0 -
Evening all :hello:
Well, I stink like a beetroot factory - my clothes have the aroma of vinegar! Good job that it's Friday and I can have a "clean" weekend. They do some really interesting products there, but obviously I can't taste them - until samples go into the staff canteen. After my day in the factory, the factory manager (also my friend!) asked whether I could cover reception until 5.30pm - on overtime rates. Wooohoooooo. Course I can.
I'm quite pleased that I've swallowed my pride - as I'm actually getting paid for it!
Think we're having sausages and beans tonight for supper. Mmmmmm. Yummy.
See you later.
