Well, Im back! We now have broadband again and am slowly becoming accustomed to our new pad, which is lovely! work is going really well, I got all my uniform today and its actually suprisingly nice stuff, so all is well here. We also now have cable tv - there is always something great to watch so I now have to split my time around being on here or chilling out in front of the TV.
We still need a sofa though, and a few bits and bobs like a wardrobe, so im off to check out freecycle in a min in the hope that there is a few bits there that are absolutley necessary, I simply cant afford to buy them right now which is a pain in the neck but I cant complain, we finally have peace and quiet and privacy, and the kitchen is always how I left it!
Hope everyone is well, also, has Queenie turned up yet??

Hang on ... I'm your ONLY sister
Nice quiet night for me. Another two batches of dishes (mainly jars and cans for recycling which have been soaking), nice tea of fish pie while watching Robbie Williams videos on TMF :drool: Even DD was singing along :rotfl: Two loads of washing done and currently drying on hangers/maiden in the masterbedroom with the heater on so it warms the room up (actually its warm enough now but...) and dries the clothes, then I'll switch it off when I go to bed after shutting DD's bedroom door.
Having a quick look around here while I finish a can of OH's larger :shhh: then another batch of dishes and then I'll go up to bed I think ....oooohhhh Robbies new video!!! Got to go :drool:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning All
Bad night last night...never mind
Have a couple of washloads to do, including a hot white wash. Have been saving up t-towels and white and have just enough to do-will add a scoop of Oxy powder in with it to make them come up very bright...hopefully. Found the large container of Oxy in back of my cleaning cupboard along with a load of bits I forgot I had bought. Oxy still had the price of £4.99 on it  Would never pay that now
With it being so cold at the mo, OH is taking the front plate/cover off the fire and cleaning it down today as I expect its very dusty on the inside and we will probably be putting it on very soon if the weather remains the same or worsens  Its a black cast-iron fireplace looks very antique but is only 3 yrs old and gas-but looks nice.
When I went to bed last night, had a look around at what the cleaner had done upstairs and was very impressed compared to last week. 3 cleaning companies have sent info on their services-prices ranging from £7.75ph-£11ph  If I need them I have the info, but their cleaner only gets £5.50ph and the agency keeps the rest to cover fees, insurance, replacements etc. Anyway am very happy this week
OH is getting on with lining DD's bedroom today and DD is at her saturday school for 2 hrs. I think they will go out on their bikes later over the park or I may suggest sitting in the garden and playing a game-so it can involve me toomaybe they will do both?
DD has asked for a cooked breakfast this morning, so got the bacon out last night, have eggs, sausages, beans, hash browns and bread for toast. Will stick sausages on about 6.45 as they get up about 7.30. I have a special seat in the kitchen, so I can sit and look after the food and hopefully not fall over or injure myself :rotfl:
Lunch will be jacket spud, ham, cheese & coleslaw. Dinner is HM Lasagna, a few chips & salad-maybe garlic bread?
Anyway, will catch up later.
Have a good day.

'Morning Penny Pincher  .... sounds like you are going to have a good day ... the breakfast is making my tummy rumble.
The apple mint household is in the process of moving ... so packing, car booting and taking things down to the tip is our weekend. We are actually enjoying it, as we are being quite brutal about decluttering and not taking absolutely everything to the next house. Eldest daughter came home and took everything she wanted from her room - the rest we sorted last night and we have enough for a car boot sale tomorrow. As you say, it is getting quite chilly on a morning, so I think it will be the very last one we do. Anything we find after that we will give to charity.
I'm planning to clear the freezer and storecupboards over the next couple of weeks ... so we are going to be having some strange combination of meals :rotfl:
This morning we are going to take a car full of rubbish to the recycling tip .. and hopefully come back with some more boxes for moving with.
First thing though, is to put a lamb joint in the slow cooker so that I don't have to think too hard about meals whilst I'm busy sorting out
Have a lovely OS day everyone :j
Edit: 'morning JW1096  ... you snook in there whilst I was typing my postEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Good Morning everyone!!
This morning I am fishing my lovely thick door curtain out of the loft and giving it a quick wash to freshen it up and then I'm going to hang it on the front door as it is cold brrr!!
I'm going to sort out DD's bedroom today (it's coming up to her 7th birthday and with Christmas on the way I want to declutter it to make way for the new...)
2 years ago I started making a Snow White and the Seven Dwarves cross stitch for her - and no I still haven't completed it :rotfl: It is now my mission to get it finished by Christmas (well the 18th Dec anyway as we are going away this year).
I've never done the being abroad at Xmas thing before - and I'm a real traditionalist!!
Dinner tonight will be chicken casserole with rice (as I have no spuds in at the mo!!)
Hoping to tackle an ever increasing ironing pile too - wish me luck!!
Have a good day one and all!!Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Morning all,
PP sorry you had another bad night, but good news on the cleaner sounds like you have with a bit of communication got a real good one.
Well I am off this weekend for a change.. so it's nice for the children to see mum and dad at the same time as he works away all week..
Think will start off making everyone a nice cooked breakfast and we can make plans over that as no idea what to do with everyone and it's very grey and cold in not so sunny stoke.
Have a lovely day all.... x0 -
Morning all.
Seems to be a bit nippy everywhere today - time to find my hot water bottle! Am about to do what PP calls a '20 min blitz' before all the family descend on me for lunch. Have been trying to keep the house looking presentable all week so I wouldn't have much to do this morning.
Once they've gone, I'm itching to get up in the loft and have a good declutter - I've joined my local freecycling group and someone is asking for a piece of old carpet and I know there is some up there. Don't know what state it's in though, I avoid going up there if I can!
Depending on how the decluttering goes I've got a bit of sewing to do later. MUST do the ironing first though, been putting it off all week.
Have a fun day everyone.0 -
Hello
Boys had me up before I was ready this morningbut then, isn't that what kids do ?
I'm sure it won't be long before I can't get them out of their pits before lunchtime. Mr TM is, however, blissfully unaware of the rest of the household being up and about (situation normal then
)
Today Mr TM is going to take the boys to mum's as she wants all the tools taken out of the greenhouse and put into the new shed that dad had just had built. I'm going to escape into Preston I think - haven't been there for ages so may visit Makro and Tradex whilst I'm there. Must start looknig for Xmas pressies before the last minute rush too.
It's a sunny but cold day here. Have one load of washing ready to go onto the line and about, oh, 700 more loads to doI think this weekend I shall try and get into the attic and pull out bigger items I need to sell. Need to polish up the Silver Cross pram and I should get a fair amount on ebay for it. Must list mum's overlocker too.
I think I'll treat myself to a bath now - I'm sure DS2 will find his way into it before too long thoughHope you all have a great day.
TM
ps have to say, it's great being known for your OS ways. Last night as I was making tea, a friend phoned up in panic as her boys had knocked a vase of flowers onto her new cream carpet - complete with lily pollen  She said " I knew if anyone would know how to clean it, TM would"However, it was already wet and she'd tried cleaning it so I had no option but to lend her my vax and suggest that it could be an insurance claim
At least she can replace it with a darker colour if necessary.

Morning all...:hello:
So far today I got a small lie in - slept like a log last night once I finally got to bed (about 12.30) but was woken by a bang at 6am  I guess it must have been someone going out/coming in as no one around here seems to be able to shut car doors quietly  DD came and climbed into bed with me (and about a billion books) around 7.30. Around 8am I gave up and let her watch Noddy while I made her bed and checked on the washing.
We've both breakfasted and I'm letting her watch TV until 10am (while I'm on here) then she got to make a card for my sister, and I suppose I had better make one too :rotfl: Other plans for today include finishing the washing up, washing (1 load
at least until the beds are changed), I need to clean the bathroom and put some sealant along the bath while OH is away (he has daily baths so I don't really get a chance!) but thats not desperately urgent. Don't know what we'll have for lunch, might have soup. Need to prep some potato wedges for tea tonight or I might just cheat and get Chippy :shhh:
We're going for a walk today before going to my nans so I think we'll go looking for conkers. I can dry them out and use them as decorations at Christmas as I think I might venture to make a wreath this year. Also going to call into a charity shop near my nans to have a rummage. Not got much money, but I'm still due about £7 pocket money for this monthMight have a look around on the t'internet at the prices of chest freezers as I would like one but OH isn't keen, or maybe an upright freezer as I could probably fill either easily buy the time I've finished baking etc. An upright would also be easier to organise and take up less floor space
Oh well, off to Neopets again :shhh:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
