    Hello all!
Its drizzleing today so the garden is cold wet and soggy.
We've been up to the library this morning and have Macbeth on DVD to watch after lunch(accompanied by a large bar of chocolate).Got back to find the postman had left a parcel out in the rain.It was some seeds I had ordered on line, luckily they were in plastic within the cardboard box, else they would have been ruined.
Not very happy with the postie at the moment as OH is expecting his ebay win/purchase via parcel post,we kept looking out for them yesterday and I rang in the evening only to be told they had tried to deliver it on Monday(we were in and they didnt leave a card so, I dont think so!),they left a card Tuesday(we were out) and have apologised and are delivering tomorrow as today we were going to be out again.
We are having egg sandwiches for lunch.I squish up the hard boiled egg and mix with marg and it is lovely(the marg helps to stop the egg falling out of the sandwich).
Talking off wildlife in towns, years ago,we were having breakfast in MIL's kitchen and 3 fox cubs went gambolling by the french window! I've never seen a fox cub in 19 years of living in kent and we only occasionally see a fox at all.

Incidently - and I know I'm being really thick here, but.... OH - means Other Half, what does DH, DS, DD etc mean?

    Can anyone fill me in?
Well you've seen the quick answers already. For a more comprehensive list there's a link at the bottom of our "Welcome" sticky to recent thread.

  • Thanks for the kicking :p I think your right about the weather causing the lethargy.

I got ready to go shopping and guess what? My debit card is in my car which the OH took to work this morning:wall:
So instead of shopping cos the littlie was all excited about going out, we went to the toddler group meeting.
I'm hoping she will have a sleep soon and I can get on.
I have managed to get some jobs done so off now to do some more.

Wasted my morning so far - all I've done is surf the net and play games on Neopets :rotfl: Mind you I haven't completely wasted it - DD is fed x 2, spoken to my mum on the phone and 1 batch of dishes is washed. Back to playing games :p:rotfl:

Today so far - had to go for a blood test but thought I'd get a bit of exercise on the way, and parked on the local Asda (didn't go in though!) and walked to doctor's about half a mile away. Of course got absolutely soaked into the bargain!!

Arrived home with just enough time to get dry before going out to get wet again picking DS up from nursery. Cheesy oatcakes for dinner, then made a key lime pie for pudding tonight with the help of budding masterchef age 3. Lamb rogan josh for tea so got to cut lamb and onions etc in a mo, DS is 'washing the dishes' so you can imagine the mess I'll be greeted with in the kitchen! Have to go as I can hear the water dripping off the kitchen units already!! Enjoy the rest of your day, soba.
  • Big, big confession time - there is a 3 day French market in town, mr tycoon and I popped in to have a nosey around after dropping the dyson in to be serviced and spent half of the weeks budget  we came home with 2 sorts of pate, goose rillettes, a salami-type herby sausage (lasts 2 months) a Corsican ham (lasts 6 months) dried strawberries (food of the Gods) 2 cakes, a baguette and a huge porion of hot paella for lunch. How the heck did that happen? I've justified some of it saying that the ham will still be around at Christmas but it's a long time since we were that impulsive - and piggy!
  • Hiya

apprentice tycoon-i would have blown my whole weeks budget on them....yummy. Havent eaten posh stuff like that in ages and it tastes so good. I miss having money sometimes  Ahhh never mind-hope you enjoy it :D

Well my assessment went well and have been offered some more help-which we have decided we are going to take-dont want to, but OH is looking so tired and want to take some of the strain away...feel very guilty sometimes-what normal 31 yr old would want to be a FT carer :o

OH went to Lidls for some spuds-still at half price. 7.5kg bag for £1.09  Also got some dried milk for BM 400g for £1.49-is that good?

Doing sweet and sour chicken for tea.

    Speak to you all later.

  • Good news about the assessment PP - you all do so well but you deserve to take any extra help if you can get it. Hope the new cleaner is getting on OK too!

Well the heavens have opened here and it's absolutely bucketing it down now. I am still at work supposedly having a good catch up on admin but it's mainly because it seems like a big effort to drive home (only 8 miles!). I need to work out how to use my new gadget this evening (a breadmaker) so that I can impress my folks with my homemade loaf on Saturday. Can anyone tell me roughly how long it takes from start to finish? I haven't got a clue whether it will be one hour or one day!
  • hi there.

If it helps my BM takes 3 hours for a basic white loaf. Its a moorphy richards fastbake
