    G'day all,

PP, so sorry to hear your birthday wasn't what you wished for. Make sure you're v clear with OH so that you can be indulgent and fully make up for it with a special day today. Sounds like the people who came over were very inconsiderate, I'd never have gone over on someone's birthday without a) checking in advance I was welcome b)bringing at least a card and c) keeping a sharp eye out for hints that I was overstaying my welcome. Maybe today give the order that no one is to answer the phone or doorbell if they ring :)

Today its raining again, so not sure what to do. I still don't feel 100%, had a rotten cold for 5 days and a hacking cough. Am desperate to feel better for my holiday on Friday so am half tempted to just be really lazy and do nothing all day. But I find it so hard to just do nothing, it drives me mad. Aaargh!

Tonight we're going to my Mum's for dinner, she will prob cook a roast and hers are the best :).

Hope you all have a good day,
    Sarah.
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)

    Morning all :hello:

Welcome to stressedoutmum, it's nice to see you round here.

The evening do last night was ok. I didn't do any cheesy disco dancing :( as I was too busy chatting :D The bride looked lovely, and the groom (my friend) scrubbed up really well. I was impressed.

Today we're going round to another friend's house for lunch. I'm in charge of making a salad as OH bought a year's supply of salad from his staff shop. Well, it's not quite a year's supply but the fridge is bulging at the seams!

OH is waiting for a :coffee: and I need to go out and get a newspaper.

    See you later.

    Hi All

I'm a bit stressed as my kitty cat Henry is very obviously unwell today. He'd gone off his food a bit yesterday, today he's not in the slightest bit interested which is very unlike him, plus his breathing seems rather laboured. I don't know what to do - I really want him to see a vet but today is Sunday, and tomorrow I am at work from 9.00 am until 8.00 pm. Oh what a nightmare.

There's usually a duty vet. If you ring your surgery the answering machine might give you a number...

I agree with Squeaky, give the vet a call on the out of hours number and he should arrange to meet you at the surgery at some point today. I think he needs to be seen sooner than later from what you've described so best of luck and let us know how you get on :)

Well, I've checked the uniform situation and thankfully DS has clean stuff to wear tomorrow, as long as I get my finger out and sew up the split in the crotch of one pair of trousers and sew the badge onto his new blazer  ... still, it's easier than rushing around trying to wash what he wore last week, and he does have around 12 white shirts to keep him going as I make him change them daily ;)

He's decided to go to the :footie: match today after all, but will be a sub and play just a short time to see how his ankle goes, so I need to go make bacon butties soon as he's only had cereal so far.

It gives me time to make some soup and put the BM on for when he gets back though and I've still got some chilli in the freezer we can have for dinner tonight, so that's all sorted :)

i agree with sqeaky also........we used to have a cat and our vets did have a 'duty' vet on call at weekends.also do you have a dogs/cats home near you? they also have vets you can go and see usually.

    Morning all.

PP some people are so thoughtless. You should have had a far nicer birthday :(

Snowy I agree, you should call the duty vet.

I've had a lovely start to the morning, I woke up at 7.30 and the house was silent so decided to make myself a coffee and go back to bed, I loaded the dishwasher and the washing machine before I did though. DH came home at 9 and we snuggled together until I heard the kids start to make a noise, went and got them up and went and had a quick bath while they were eating their breakfast. Went really oldstyle and chucked DD2 in after me as the water was still clean. It worked really well and saved fuel too only using one lot of water.

Got the laundry drying on the radiators as it's a horrible day here, just made myself eat breakfast as I need the energy :D

Went shopping yesterday and totally blew the budget  I did buy OH a box of larger (£12.97), a tin of coffee (for work £8.59) and a tin of coffeemate (also for work £1.85) as he kept forgetting to buy milk! But the box of larger had one open that had gone all mouldy so the girl at the checkout took it out and gave us £1 off :D Total came to £74.92, but with the money off & mulitbuys (£1.54) and if you take OH's stuff off it comes to £49.97 which leaves me £20 for the month as I upped my budget slightly on the account of a possible visit from the ILs today and me having to feed them (OH wanted "bits" with scotch eggs, pork pies and some fancy cheese  ).

Last night (also on the belief the IL's are coming today) I baked a chocolate cake (sandwich style so will "cream" it later), a spiced prune cake and made up 4 small loaves which I left overnight in the oven to rise - unfortunately 2 of them overflowed their tins all over the bottom of the oven! 2 are now in cooking and I'll put another 2 in when they're done then an extra large chicken to roast. Poor oven doesn't know whats going on :rotfl:

One load of washing is out and another is about to go in once DD is dressed which will probably be after 12  Picked 4 strawberries that are tiny but ripe and I'll let DD have one later. Off to dry and wash more dishes, it's when I bake that I really wish I had a dishwasher :p
