IL's phoned this morning and may be coming down for the day tomorrow so OH has asked if we can have bits for tea tomorrow so his parents can stay for it. I need to go shopping today so I'm going to add £20 to my shopping budget so that I can also buy more coffee (we've run out!) SO we're off to Asda soon, after I've put OH's shirts on hangers to dry.

Hi Curry_Queen
Glad to hear you're OK. Maybe you could give the doctor another go if you have any qualms at all.
I don't want to alarm you in any way, but if there was an emergency at your house does your DS know how to contact the emergency services and what to say, eg your address, and where to look for your medicines so that he can repeat the names over the phone, etc. From what you've said about him he sounds responsible enough to have such information without misusing it or getting scared. Sorry if this is a bit OTT, it's just a thought.

Hello everyone
Isn't it wonderful that it is the weekend!
Unfortunately it's a bit drab over here in N.Ireland, we had an extremely wet Friday and today is cold and overcast. But I don't care, I'm not at work. Work is incredibly busy and pressurised at the minute, and on top of all that I am still in my extended phase of sleeplessness. I am getting "treatment" for this - anti-d's - but the doctor says that normal sleep patterns should eventually return. In the interim I tend to be awake for about 2-3 hours in the middle of the night every night.
So far today I have fed myself and fed my kitties. I also went and picked up some photography books which were a gift to me through Freecycle - my first ever receipt of anything this way.
Lucky me washed my work uniforms last night - there is a lot of polyester in them and they dry very quickly indoors. A quick iron of them later on and then I can forget about them.
Tonight's tea will be a big salad with brown pasta and some tuna, plus a vinegar and mustard dressing, followed by a Muller Light yoghurt and fruit. I'm following the GI diet at the moment, and would definitely recommend it as one of the most sensible eating plans out there. I'm too scared to step on the scales (actually I don't have any!) but my clothes are a wee bit looser on me after only two weeks.
As long as it's not chucking it down later I'm going for a long, long walk, and will maybe pick some blackberries at the same time.
Happy birthday Penny Pincher!
That's all for now, have a fab weekend everyone.
All the best

Been out this morning, got my meat from the butchers and some bits and pieces from Lidl. Have made dinner for tonight and lunch for tomorrow is in the slow cooker! I'm off out tonight so thought I'd save time incase I'm a bit under the weather tomorrow ;D
Duvets from kids beds washed but not out to dry yet as it's still very overcast in NI and there's not much ssems to be drying on my neighbours line. Might have to use the tumble drier later, ah well at least it will heat the kitchen in the process.
Happy Birthday Penny Pincher!!

I went out with DS this morning to get his books for college. We found 2 but couldnt find the other anywhere so had to order it from amazon.
I managed to spend £27 on the 3.Then we had a burger from the burger lady and a vanilla coke .I told my son the police in USA use it to clean blood off the roads and he said we were british so we're 'well ard' and use it as a drink.
This evening it is pouring :j so no watering and our water butt should get good and full again. The best thing about the rain though is it has stopped the horrible shouting from the park. They have been having open air 'do's ' over there every weekend for weeks and it is so grating hearing the commentator shouting as he even carries on conversations over the loud speaker about wether he should have cake or not:mad: Also it means we wont have fireworks for about the fourth Saturday night in a row at 11pm.
We had meat paste sandwiches for tea and a bun as I was being a lazy moo.0 -
Hi everyone!
Not too much OS today although OH has just made a delicious cheese and chive bread in the BM. It all seems to be about the small person's homework today. He's doing WW2 but no books in the library. Aargh!! However, not a wasted trip because have joined him in a reading group which will run once a month and is free! Tonight for tea I have rummaged about in the bottom of the freezer resurfacing with various margarine pots full of tomato based leftovers. I've mixed them all together and put them in the tortilla wraps I bought from Lidl [lots cheaper than the Tesco ones and just as nice]. Tomorrow I'm going to try out the gingerbread recipe in the BM and we are heading to Michelham Priory which is normal entry price but they are also holding a medieval event. We having a posh picnic!

Just steamed a gammon joint, some eggs and some beetroot.
Have pickled the beetroot. The eggs are for tea tomorrow and the gammon is to be sliced and popped in the freezer. A little will be left put in the fridge for lunch tomorrow.
Yum.
Been stripping wall paper this afternoon so real fun. Just have to now choose the new paper. More money we don't have but hey ho needs to be decorated.

Evening All
Thanks for all the birthday wishesIve had a terrible day but am going to do something together at home tomorrow.
I am so p***ed off  Been up since 3am. Told OH didnt want anyone round today as im so knackered and drained and just wanted to spend time with him and DD. His brother turned up this morning(cant stand him!)then a mate turned up who came to collect his car(seriously jet lagged) so did him lunch, then a family who we know turned up and stayed for 6 hours. I kept making subtle hints that I was feeling really ill and tired but OH didnt back me up and we ended up cooking dinner for them as I needed to eat (medical reasons). They always do this-cant get rid of them. Didnt get a card or even a best wishes. They must have had half a dozen drinks, my mars bars, biscuits and crisps. We dont have alot of money ATM so 2 of our main meals have been used to feed them too.
Im so upset. Why do I let myself be treated like this? Think Im more annoyed at OH as he knew I didnt want visitors today as ive been so rough and drained lately.
Sorry Im going to go as Im getting upset. Hopefully tomorrow will be better than today
