  • They've taken all my details etc and are going to get a doctor to give me a call back within the next hour or two.

PS yes I do have agoraphobia which is why I'm stressing in case I have to go to A&E or anything :(

It is that what you do, good or bad,
will come back to you three times as strong!

  • That's a great sign. If they thought it was something serious, I'm sure they would have said they'd get back to you quicker than that, or they'd have told you to go to hospital. I'm sure it'll be fine.

I'm sorry about the agrophobia. I feel really bad about my brash attitude now! But I'm glad you took my advice. I assumed that if you'd posted about your symptoms, you were probably worried and it's good to get peace of mind, which I'm sure you'll have once you've spoken to them. x

Yes. Its very early for saturdays O/S thread, but I figured id start it since I have great news - I got the keys to the flat today and im exceptionally happy and excited, I can actually do things again!

Ive been in my new job this week, and I really enjoy it (a building society - the good one) everyone is really friendly and fun, and the training is pretty good too! Ive been living in a freinds house all week without the boyf and the cat and seeing them again for the first time this week tonight has also been wonderful.

Anyway, i just wanted to let you all know that Broadband is officially being installed on the 15th Sept so I will be back online permenantly from then on - I was just really excited that ive had such a great week (although a few things have dented me a little - seeing someone's poor dog run over being one of them) for the most part and my stress levels has subsided so much!

So - I have a few questions too, now that ive got a pad to apply my oldstyling to!

Vinegar as fabric conditioner - how much do you put in an average wash?

Whats the best way to deodorise duvets and matresses?

How do I find out who my utility providers are?

Does anyone know where to buy one of those corner sofa things cheaply? I dont want a leather/expensive one as the cat likes scratching things and im not always there to deter her!

Im actually exhausted now and shall go to bed - I will amend and ask more questions when I wake up!

    Jo xx

  • Morning :hello:

Another bad night, but never mind!

Anyway, washload programmed to start at 6.30am, so will be ready for when OH gets up. Probably another 2 lots as some towels need washing too. 20 min blitz.

Want to sort/clean bathroom cupboard-there are so many toiletries and need to know what i have and dont. Do a sort out like this every 12 months and end up taking a couple of huge bags of stuff that Im either allergic too or too much surplus round to my nieces :o They are happy though as they dont have any money at all and pleased they will be used up.

Obviously being more frugle now and practical-I will be more stingy in what I need and dont need-so they will be getting alot less  It all helps though..lol. I only buy what I need now. I have loads of deodrants from the USA in baby powder scent-there yummy-maybe 18 months worth :o but at $2 a throw, who could say no??? I will write it all down for a laugh and post it later  I may even add it up and see how much money I have wasted on the stuff being given away.

DD, OH & I went to Makros yesterday after school. OH pushed me in my 4 wheel drive wheelchair..lol, but grabbed a few bargains. Reduced we found 2 x traybakes with cumberland sausage and mash toppped in puff pastry-theres enough for all of us for a dinner with spuds and veg (reduced £2.09 to £0.80) 2 loaves of best of both (15p each), 1 boxed lamb rogon josh with pilau rice, naan and somosas and the same again but with chicken jalfrezi (£3.50 for both!). Then other offers were: Flash Ocean (my fav) 2 ltr bottle (£3 inc VAT), Litre of kitchen cleaner with orange zest in it-cleaner said it was good for grease build up?? (£1.25-v cheap), Lenor 5 litre concentrated-this lasts me 6 months roughly (£6 inv VAT), Walkers box of 48 crisps (£3.50 inc VAT-hubby regostered each packet online for the free IPOD  ), 2 x pack of 18 Hula Hoops (bogog £2.25 for both), 2 x extra mature cheddar 500g (£2.49 for both).

Also bought some ready meals for me. I have to eat alot (medical reasons) and over the past few weeks I have even tried meals on wheels but at £2.25 a day-we cant afford it-just thought it would be easier on OH. Some were ok but many not. In Makros on offer they had roast chicken dinners with chicken, stuffing, roast spuds and gravy. There were 2 good sized dinners in each pack and were 2 pack for £3 (75p each  ) so grabbed 12 dinners for £9  I will just use them as a back up and at 75p a meal I thought it was good value :D So in total spent under £40 :T Also filled up with petrol as its the cheapest in area still £40 though but havent put petrol in for nearly 3 weeks
We were back by 4.30 and was well knackered but glad I had got out ;)

jw1096-I hope the move goes OK. The sofa-I would look on ebay-my SIL bought a corner leather suite in good condition for £10

    Will report back later.

    Morning all :hello:

I'm not usually up this early, it still feels like it's the middle of the night :p DH was banging about clumsily in the bedroom morning as he got up for work and I couldn't get back to sleep again.

Nevermind, the Continental Market is in the next town this weekend so I'm going to go along to that. Looking forward to it as there's always so many tempting delights on offer. Best thing is, they always give out lots of freebies and everyone is so friendly. Will report back later on what I've procurred :D Chinese supermarket get their fresh food deliveries in today, so I always go on a Saturday.

Breadmaker is halfway through it's cycle and I just love the smell! We're having chilli, rosemary and tomato bread today. Going to make it into garlicky bread to have with HM chilli pizza for tea tonight. Got lemon curd and lime curd to make today too.

Off to load up the washing machine now.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

  • Hello all.

I didn't reply yesterday, too busy!

Well we finished the decorating on Thursday evening and it looks beautiful! I want to sleep in there, it's a lovely aqua colour and so calming and relaxing. I didn't have to buy any curtains because they old ones match perfectly. We did have to buy a carpet because the old one was a threadbare 70s swirly nightmare but as the room is only 6ft x 8ft we managed to get a modern, cream, wool offcut for £30! Bargain. Didn't even need delivering as we could fit it in the car.

Unfortunately DS2 (aged 2.5) refused to sleep in there on Thursday night. Tanks to nursery, he’d had a late afternoon nap so he was bouncing off the walls by the time we went to bed. I put him in the bed in his own room and got into bed with him but he went “nooooooooooow” (he’s learnt to say no forcefully even though it sounds like now), reversed off the bed, went into my bedroom and buried his head in the pillow. But last night he fell asleep downstairs so DH put him in his own bed at 8pm and he slept through all night! He came into my room at 7am in good humour and whacked me over the bridge of the nose with his bottle demanding more (ouch). YAY!

Today DS1 (9) and I are going to take advantage of the Heritage Open days https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk and have a look around some lovely old wrinkly buildings: Listers Mill (Local Landmark with a massive chimney, gorgeous building left neglected for years but currently being turned into flats by Urban Splash), Law courts, City Hall, a vintage transport museum and a colour museum (if we get the time). It's throwing it down with rain though (ugh)

I also have to do two mystery shops - a traven agents and a supermarket. I'm accepting all the mystery shopping visits that I can so I have some spare cash for Christmas without having to resort to credit cards. After Christmas I will then start paying off the credit card.

  • hi all. off to my sisters wedding today in berkshire...its about a 2 hour drive from me so hoping the little two will sleep on the way up there. am packing lunch as we will be on the road during lunchtime and i dont want to stop anywhere and pay ridiculous prices! my outfit i already had (invested in a white suit a while back and this will be second time ive worn it) little girl is flowergirl so her outfit cost me zero, but none of the boys had anything suitable to wear so i bought 3 shirts (all the same) and 3 pairs of navy trousers cost me about £70!!!!! they are wearing their school shoes.

hoping to balance the petrol costs of driving up there in my v.expensive to run ford galaxy by doing all school runs on foot for remainder of september (unless downpour) hopefully then not mucking up my petrol budget too much!!!

cant wait until monday when i start this months challenges (changed over bank account therefore a lot of mucking about and sept for me a three week month now)

i shall proberly be home 9ish tonight one very tired mum!!!!

have a good day all xx

    Jo xx

You can contact Transco and they will tell you who provides your Gas. I don't have a number but I am sure if you google it you will find it easily enough.

I'm not sure about electricity. When I moved in here the previous occupier had phoned the utility companies to let them know he was moving out and to give a final reading so there was a letter to "the New Occupier" when we moved in..

With regards to your cat on "How Clean is your House" Aggie recommended putting some Citronella Oil into a water soloution into a spray bottle and said Cats don't like the smell so wont go near it, maybe if you spray it on your sofa and see if your cat leaves the sofa alone...(and if it works let me know)

    Enjoy your new flat!
