Afternoon!
Glad the new cleaning lady was better P_P. Even if she doesn't do everything the way you like - if she does the bulk of it then you can always just do the few little jobs the way you want it doing, it's still less then you'd have to do if you were doing all your cleaning. That's the way we deal with it. My cleaner doesn't quite put all my ornaments back right so a few minutes just straightening them up after she's left and then i'm back to how i like it.
Quiet day. Eating up yesterdays leftover mushroom chow mein for lunch. Children asked for sausages today - no idea where that request came from! So maybe sausages & beans or a sausage buttie for tea. Not very healthy but as they eat well all other days i think i can afford a day off.0 -
'Ello everyone
Oh what a nightmare few days it's been, and thank you so much for the lovely messages and support, especially a couple who have helped me through today (you know who you are and a big thanks to you *hugs* :A )
Just spoken to the hospital and son appears to be settling in ok, which is good news and a big relief, but obviously it's still early days yet and they're still in the process of assessing him. I feel terrible that I can't go and visit him myself but I'm going to write him a letter later this evening, and he's getting some visitors this evening so he won't feel abandoned.
I'm still not sleeping or eating properly but I've got to keep try keep my strength up for little 'uns sake as he doesn't fully understand what's going on, and as sod's law would have it he's staying with me this weekend instead of going to his dad's as usual as he's got a party to attend tomorrow
They always say it never rains but pours, and it certainly has done here today, in more ways than one! (torrential downpour and thunder a while ago!) I was expecting a parcel from The Book People, and was hoping to use one the "lucky dip" books for DS to give as a birthday gift tomorrow, and apparently they tried to deliver yesterday (but I was in bed most of the day trying to get some sleep) so they called again today and I answered the intercom and told the guy to come up (can't manage the stairs at mo cos of pain) so I'm standing with my finger on the button to release the door for him to come in when I hear the letterbox go, and he's only gone and shoved a card through as a no delivery!!!
Then to cap it off I put an order in for a delivery from Tesco today (forgot to do it in Tuesday) so not only have I got a higher delivery charge but they didn't honour my £10 voucher for some reason, plus, I'd ordered an organic chicken for this weekend only to find the sell by date is today and it smells decidedly iffy
Oooops sorry, this post is turning more into a rant
Right, I think I'll go pour a glass of wine and try to chill out for an hour or two. DS has just had a call from his :footie: manager asking to go down to the training session (I told him he wasn't to train this week after his injury) so he can check him out and see if he'll be fit for the match this Sunday, but if I don't think he is then he ain't playing! Better to miss one match and get fit again than to play injured and risk being out of action all season
Sorry for the rant guys, it wasn't intended when I started to write this post"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

It's OK C_Q, you rant away. It's so much better when you can offload on other people and that's what your friends are here for.
Hope your DS gets the help he needs, your young DS gets fit and look after yourself too. You won't be much good if you're laid up in bed completely exhausted and in pain. Have yourself a glass of vino, think positively and give us a call if you need a shoulder0 -

Thanks hun :A ... but hey it's me that was offering my shoulder to you with what you're going through as well right now
We're a right pair ain't we and I can almost see the funny side that we're both going through a family crisis at the same time after everything else we've shared LOL!
I've poured myself glass of vino, a fine rose summat or other, and must admit to feeling somewhat light-headed from just a few sips, so gawds knows what I'm gonna be posting here if I stay online this evening :rotfl:
I might be deleting a lot of posts by the time I sober up tomorrow LOL!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

You have done brilliantly to get your son the help that he needs and your younger son now knows that he has an injury so you got that sorted out too.
Give yourself a break and don't worry about missing the delivery because you were asleep - I have been in the house and wide awake - and still not managed to catch a delivery - they are like a sprinter on speed - these delivery people!!!
Spoil yourself a little. You deserve it."This site is addictive!"

Oh forgot to add, and I know we can't do medical advice etc on this site, but if someone could possibly put my paranoia at ease in a non-medical way I'd be ever so grateful
For the last two days I've been getting a tingling sensation and pins and needles down my left arm, and the outer edge of my hand and two fingers feel quite numb, but not totally, if you know what I mean (and dare I say it I've had some chest pain on the left too) so of course I'm worrying about "certain" implications but I'm just putting it down to stress and/or a trapped nerve or something.
I'm not seeking medical advice but if anyone can relate and tell me it's ok, normal and not to worry etc then great, or if the only answer is to call someone like NHSDirect, then thats fine too (but I doubt I will unless someone infers it could be indicative of something more serious)

Thanks hun but all I wanna do right now is run away from it all
Being a parent is so damned hard, especially when you've never really had the opportunity to grow into a fully fledged adult yourself, but then I wonder how many of us have.
I can recall the day I gave birth to my eldest like it was yesterday, yet it was just 20 years ago, but I don't feel that much different in my own head, if you know what I mean. Ok, I'm older and a little wiser and have lived a bit, but I still don't feel ready for having adult children and coping with all their problems on top of my own. It certainly makes me see my parents, or parent should I say, in a different light, but it also dredges up so much I haven't yet learned to cope with"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I know what you mean - in my head I still feel as if I were in my twenties.
Nobody ever does feel that they are a "good" parent - the best we can do is to be "good enough" and to love and care for them.
I bet there are plenty of people who fantasize about going out one day and not coming back for a while - hoping everything will have sorted itself out in their absence.LOL;)"This site is addictive!"

Er, Curry Queen, I don't want to nag but I really do think you should call NHS direct. Straight away. I have no medical training. I just think chest pain and tingling arm are NOT good signs. Please give them a call. xMay all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
