Thought I'd sneak back in while making a cuppa..

It was really nice having a clean kitchen to work with when the children woke up.. I think I may do an all nighter more often.. I am shattered though and may well sneak off to bed this afternoon. Hubby came home rather worse for wear and needed to be forced to take his contacts out.. he is stinking in bed so I'll need the sheets inthe wash later too.

I'm going to kick him out of bed anyway as I need milk for my rice krispies!

We have a day of tidying ahead. I reallt struggle to keep on top of everyones mess so every so often we need to blitz it.. and that looks like it will happen today.. then I can freecycle this here sofa!

My list of tasks for today in endless.. but it starts with hubby putting up the new curtain track in the back room and us all tidying the floor so I can wash the carpet.. I have such an exciting life you know!

I'm trying to get things sorted out for when my 'treatment'/office/craft room is ready. It's nowhere near at the moment, but I need to declutter and see what is left, so I know what storage to plan. I have decided it would be a good idea to have sewing room in the spare room, rather than in treatment/craft/office room, the thought of pins on the floor and clients in bare feet doesn't bear thinking about      My excuse and I'm sticking to it.
I'm assuming the 'treatment' bit is work so if you have the space it would be better to have your sewing/craft room separate.
That way the atmosphere in the treatment room is calm and professional and the sewing room is your space to escape and relax. (and the pins are contained :))

  • Hi Guys!

I havent read through the thread but thanks for all the PM's and messages. They are much appreciated.

I havent been feeling too good, so today we are spending a quiet day indoors as a family and are going to watch a film soon. OH has just done us a nice lunch of baked spud, quiche and salad and we are having a treat of a take-away later.

The WM has been on and items put in the TD:o and the DW has been on and emptied. The house is clean and generally tidy, so cant moan. Am trying to keep myself busy.

Found out last night that a good friend and her husband have seperated and they have 3 children. Very sad news, but she was having an affair. Her husband is a lovely sweet man and did anything for her.

The pharmacist dropped of my monthly supply of meds this morning and the doctor has added a couple more items to try and build me up a bit. My weight has increased quite a bit which is great and within my healthy BMI.

Does anyone know how to make good scrap books:confused: ....I would really like to start making some but dont have a clue where to start.

Anyway, I am going to go, but I hope you are all well and having a good weekend.

Smokey-Thanks for the kind words. Hope the kids are keeping ok. Special Hugs to you and family.

OMG - you people never sleep do you???!!!

Gin - I love your username and it makes me smile whenever I see you post as Gin is my favourite tipple

SS - glad you and martyn had a fab day yesterday. Say hello to him if pops round on sunday for his dinner :D

Happy birthday! seems to be so many birthdays at the moment. Anyway - best wishes to everyone celebrating over the weekend.

I have been having a great day so far, found out I am to be a case study for a trainee reflexologist at the local college, brilliant treatments for a fraction of the price. Meaning I can 'teat' myself :D

Want to try out a new recipe tonight for dinner - although having probs chosing from the recipe book!

Off to watch DH play in the semi-finals of the Scottish Rugby Cup. He's a (very handsome) prop and I think they have a great chance to get to the finals at murrayfield on 3rd May. I will be cheering the team on from the stand this afternoon. No-one can say I am not dedicated as it's FREEZING outside today

    have a fab weekend everyone

    Hi evryone
Hugs to those who need them.
Made Twinks Hobnobs yesterday with DD but they've nearly all gone so I'm not sure that was a good idea!!!
Have just failed the grocery challenge set by my DH. He has managed to shop for £50 the last 2 weeks and set me the challenge of £70 to include packed lunches as we are back at school on Mon. I went over and spent £84. he will have to go next week. Still it is an improvement on my usual £100.
Whole family are off to a friends for supper tonight so don't have to cook!!
Should be cleaning and doing schoolwork for the rest of the afternoon but am not motivated so posting here instead.
enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone

Even though we have the luxury of a large(ish) house, there will unfortunately be a need to double up as far as 'room activity' is concerned. I figure that sewing is a messy activity (Hmmm, so's the crafting!!!) and when there's a project on, takes a lot of room and I won't want to clear away. The treatment room will have a fairly clear division and I'm planning some folding screens, partly for client privacy and also for fencing off the desk etc area when the room is in use for treatments. Not really quite sure how it's all going to pan out, but at the moment, looks like tall ikea units and wash basin unit (have just got this, lovely!) across the wall furthest from the door, to work in. Those cupds will take all my towels etc etc etc. the wall nearest the door to have work surface/desk/storage underneath.... haven't worked out yet quite how much I need!

I know what you mean about calm and professional!

    Afternoon all

big hugs to PP, smokey and anyone else and birthday wishes to Oldmacdonald, joannasmumsdad and miss catowen (I think)

exoh is here this weekend to finish (I hope) dd(11)'s bedroom - i'm getting really fed up with all her stuff everywhere. I got a bit of a shock when I read the paper this AM - someone I used to be quite close to was witness to the death of someone else I knew a bit. It was an awful accident and must have upset her greatly but I'm not sure she'd welcome an email from me - we haven't spoken in a while and it was - well complicated. I think I will drop her a line - she can ignore it if she wants.

thanks for all the get well messages - I don't do ill but am at the only very slightly dizzy, coughy stage so am up trying to do a whole weeks worth of flying
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
