Well, chicken's in the slow cooker. House is tidy, just need to get the bathroom cleaned before we go out.

Does anyone else worry about leaving the slow cooker on when they go out, or is it just me? I plug it into the powerbreaker, and have never had a problem - still worry though.:o

:bdaycake: Happy birthday to Old McDonald

    ((((Penny Pincher))) & (((purpleivy)))

The film was excellent last night and I really enjoyed ushering - not that I did much as it wasn't actually that busy. However, assisting little old ladies to their seats and forcing new brochures upon them for the forthcoming season seemed to be the name of the game. :D And then I got to watch "Ratatouille" for free.

This morning, DH and I walked down into town so that I could go for my beautician's appointment and buy him a "dodgy polo shirt" for his lads' weekend away in Blackpool in 4 weeks time. He found a suitably awful one in Age Concern, which he was most proud of. I then insisted that he treated me to a bacon sarnie at the coffee shop next to the beautician. Not overly moneysaving, but a nice treat......

I've just spoken to my mum and she and my dad are coming to a wedding in this area over the second May bank holiday weekend when DH and I are away camping. They have requested that they use our house as a hotel - lucky that we're away, otherwise we wouldn't be able to swing a cat. However, we will have to make sure that the house is clean everywhere.....:o

It's another rugby match this afternoon. We're hoping beyond hope that they turn up mentally and physically today otherwise I'll be sneaking into the changing room to give them a good talking to. :rotfl::p

Not sure what supper will be tonight, but I'll get something out to defrost before we go. Possibly ostrich burgers, which can be served with potatoes and peas.

Have a good day all.

    Morning all
Thanks for all the good wishes yesterday for hubby, we treated ourselves to a night out, we went to the earlybird sitting at our local carvery £14 for 2 meals & 2 drinks & it got us away from the noise at home. We have decided we need to let Katy stay no matter what the inconvenience to us. We also came to a few other decisions that I won't bore you with on here, but life goes on & we are grateful for what we have. Reading what some people are going throuh on here puts everything in perspective.
WM & DW are on, we've had egg on toast for breafast so that will last us till 6ish when we'll have the HM soup & HM bread I'm making.
    Have a good day.
    Hugs Hester

awww Hester, you seem to be having a hard time at the mo. SOunds like OH's exMrs is a right PITA. Has she no morals?

I am planning to do some sitting down jobs later, I think I need to do a new passport for dd, she needs an 'adult' one. That's adult as in Grown Up, Hester, not 'adult' as in some of your world LOL! Have read some of your blog! She's going to be coming and going this next year, so although it doesn't run out till Jan, she could be in Mexico by then and will need it for other stuff before that. Bike tax to do for dh and some other stuff too.

I could write a list of what I would like to do when I feel better. That would make me a lot more purposeful when I do start. Could also sit and sort out the drawers in the desk. Am planning to use it as a sewing table. It's the only thing that doesn't wobble when the sewing machine goes. It isn't very big, but it is stable.

Hi there from one cream crackered Mioliere! The energy has deserted me and I still have to iron my kitchen curtains!

PurpleIve and Mr Taplord - hope you both feel better soon.

RedRuby - I remember when my husband had a screwdriver stolen! He was bereft and very angry. I said 'you can always get a new one'. 'That's not the point' he said 'it won't feel the same, we had bonded'! Funnily enough I do understand what he meant but he looked so pathetic when he was talking about it!

DLB - Good Luck with DS's cup final tomorrow!

PIPKIN - loved the smiley but hate that vicious boy! What a truly horrible thing to do! I can't think of anything else to say, really.

CATOWEN - I hope the sleepover works out. I remember my two doing that and giggling ALL night!

Happy Birthday to OldMcDonald and Joannasmum!

Martyn - I hope you're enjoying yourself in Stockbridge, despite the rain! It's one of our favourite places. If you get the chance, explore the tiny little church - it's fascinating.

Well, I've just put the ironing board up to do the curtains. DH has just popped out to do a quote for someone and when he comes back he can help me recover the dining room chairs. I'm so clumsy that I'm not allowed to use the staple gun unsupervised. He has no idea what I use his tools for when he's not at home - they have so many domestic uses.

The weather is horrible today - when DH went out I got him to take me to the paper shop and bring me back; I couldn't be bothered to get my car out or to walk.

Anyway, off to iron so see you all later.

    Hello all !

really cold grey and windy day..............so windy during the night it woke me up !!!
Well, no great plans today but have ploughed through the stuff in my letter rack that needed doing -well much as I could anyway. Some has to stay there awaiting phone calls to be made before I can do it and file it away.
OH went to charity shop and collected a pot I felt was a 'must have' yesterday but at £5 I hestitated so they kept it for me while I made up my mind 'yes' or 'no'...................now I''ve got it, not a clue where to put it..............lol

Have a great day all and hugs ((((((((((((((((((:o ))))))))))))))))) to all those who need them.
    Mary

Good Morning All - hope you are well! have only read page 1 so far - what a pair of busy bees Pigpen and Moliere have been! I've tried to really cut down my internet time lately - realised I was spending literally hours at a time, and then wondered why nothing else was being done! Anyhow, I'm here for a while now!
Been a strange week - DH (who has been diabetic for about 7 years), has now been diagnosed with angina, but DS is now back working again, so good news and not so good! Then today I was rushing into town and tripped over nothing - landed on my wrist and have cut two fingers, which are now swelling nicely! However, what really upset me was that the only other person in sight, a woman of perhaps late thirties/early forties just walked straight past me without saying a word. Perhaps it's me but I really think most people would have stopped just to help me up and check all was well, don't you think?
Anyway, small matters. Have got WM on again (3rd time this week our old dog's bedding has been very damp on getting up - guess he's showing signs of age). BM also on, and I must try to get the house straightened a bit. Take care all, and enjoy the w/e. ((HUGS)) to everyone who needs one right now.
