morning all,
Happy Birthday to Old macdonald and joannasdad.
Cranky and the ivy's hope you get better soon x
Kathy you made me laugh again yesterday saying that you had defrosted your freezer with hubbys 'best hammer ' :rotfl: my oh came home from work yesterday saying that his 'best hammer' had been stolen, he was very upset, I know i shouldnt but :rotfl: :rotfl:
Well we have all had a lay in this morning, DD is off out with her dad again, we have hoi sin wraps for tea, with some duck from the freezer which I had cooked a while ago. Then a quiet night in front of the TV Dr who tonight :T
Wet and raining here, might pop to the local town of many charity shops, and need to get the dog out for a walk, though she is still in bed
Got OH work stuff in the wm, will have to hang on the airer today, well thats it form me, have good days all xx
Smokey hugs to you all xx
Pen pin, let us know that you are ok xx0 -
Pipkin - I took a sharp intake of breath after reading what you said happened to that poor guinea pig. To think that the other school kids stood there and laughed makes me very angry and sad at the same time. I hope the lad was punished in some way.
Sorry to hear of all the poorlies still out there ((hugs)) to all of you and to all the ones having a hard time at the moment.
Have been shopping this morning bright and early. Washing hanging upstairs cos weather is wet and miserable out there. Twinks hobnobs on the menu today. I have been making them with some maple syrup I had lurking in the fridge and they come out too crunchy for our liking, so back to the golden syrup today.
Thanks for the heads up Gin didnt know there was footie on the tele at lunchtime, I will do my ironing with that on in the background. Good luck to DLB's son in their Cup Final, give em a big cheer from one footie fan to another :j
While out shopping I remembered to get myself some small earphones for my laptop so I can sit and watch any progs i miss on IPlayer without disturbing anyone else. I am too kind for my own good:rolleyes:
Have a good day everyone - tatty byeeeeeeeeeeee0 -
(((((hugs))))) purpleivy-I hope you are soon feeling better hun
Thanks Tatty, I've got to the stage where it isn't too bad apart from the coughing, though I don't feel like doing a lot. Have decided that I mustn't do too much too soon, otherwise the family will expect normal service. So ignoring the laundry, DW etc! I ask for cups of tea if there is anyone round to make! I figure I'll get better quicker if I'm looked after , eh?"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Morning all. Can't believe how energetic you all are today. I dragged myself out of bed at about ten past nine, but only because Asda were due 10-12. They came at half ten and I'm now surrounded by a sea of carriers. Suppose I should put some stuff away.
I've vacuumed the living room and kitchen (easier than sweeping it) and will need to mop later on. Washing up is about done, and Salmon is defrosting for tonight. We're having it with hollandaise, new potatoes and probably broccoli.
Going to sit later on and make a list of all the jobs I want DH to do next week. He's allegedly a house husband, but has been spending so much time at the allotments recently that the house is a state. So, one very long list coming up. Are there any jobs you'd stick on there, that might need doing at this time of year?
TD is going, WM will be shortly, and when I can get to the BM that will go on too. But first I need to clear the kitchen worktops so I can actually see what is where.
Have a good day all,
Metherer
xNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Absolutely-rest of the family expect to be waited on no doubt when they are feeling a bit off it-I know my kids do, my OH is not so bad but has his moments!!!! So yes, if I were you I would get them to wait on you and when you're starting to feel a bit better-milk it
and still get them to do jobs and make you drinks etc Sometimes I have no shame:o :rotfl: :rotfl:
I don't know about no shame, I don't get ill like this! I never get flu or colds that are going, it must be virulent this one, or one I didn't get exposed to in my primary teaching days (I would have thought that anyone who had worked in a primary school would be immune to EVERYthing!)
It's actuallly quite frustrating really, there is so much that I want to do! I'm trying to get things sorted out for when my 'treatment'/office/craft room is ready. It's nowhere near at the moment, but I need to declutter and see what is left, so I know what storage to plan. I have decided it would be a good idea to have sewing room in the spare room, rather than in treatment/craft/office room, the thought of pins on the floor and clients in bare feet doesn't bear thinking about      My excuse and I'm sticking to it. Waiting to feel better so that I can carry on with the sewing of outfits for chorus. Lots to do there. 2 of us sewing and 50+ members.
Also wanting to be better, as we have competition next Saturday. Can't sing at the mo!
Right, will have to get own coffee as noone else is here.
Just another thought.... MIL desperate to help, there are 11 white shirts here that need ironing!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Morning! :hello:
Sorry some of you were up so late last night/early this morning - cos I had a fantastic night's sleepWas in bed by 10 (watching telly) and asleep by 11, and didn't wake until almost 10 this morning :j I am sitting here in front of Saturday Kitchen. That pea and mint soup that James (:heart2:) made on the show looked yummy, I will have to look up the recipe! and did you see the Rick Stein segment with the fish soup - now that's what I call a stick blender :rotfl:
I am planning a Great Big Sorting-Out Day today. And later will be making a batch of oven-baked bacon risotto from the BBC Good Food website, discussed on a thread on here recently about what to do with bacon.
Hope you feel better soon purpleivy ((hugs)) and hugs too to anybody else who needs them.
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

I hope so.
He didn't look the slightest bit remorseful when being shouted at by the teachers.
When we left, the manager had taken the teacher in charge into a side office. I hope the police were called and that he was punished in some way.

Morning all!
not read the thread yet.
DH is off work with phlebitis in his leg again, the doc is worried it will end up as a thrombosis so we are having to keep a close eye on it and he has to go back on Monday to see her. So its a quiet relaxing day here hopefully.
DS2 has gone to school:eek: yes really:D to do some french revision for the morning for his GCSEs.
DS1 still in bed, came home yesterday for the weekend but has locked his keys in his flat and also left his dirty laundry there:rolleyes: so he will have to do it himself this week:D luckily his landlady has left him a spare key at the local chippie for when he goes home.
I booked a days holiday today to help DH with his pigeon race but its been cancelled till tomorrow now! might go to an indoor carboot later.
(((hugs))) to smoky, PP, Annie's niece and nephew and anyone else who needs one.
back later when I've caught up!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Weel your body is obviously telling you you need to rest so maybe you should conserve your energy so that you can sing next weekend. I know it can be frustrating when there are so many things you want to do-but right now you need to concentrate on recovery-don't try to do too much too quick.
And I'd definitely farm the ironing out-I hate it!!!!!GE 36 *MFD may 2043
