  • Anyone know if it's possible to downgrade your iphone baseband, I'm on the unlockable version at the moment and really need this phone. I tried unlock-domain.com who couldn't find the code and said there was no solution yet and refunded me, also tried iphone-unlocker-pro.com who gave me some software, but this didn't work either (also refunded).

    Thanks for the help
  • I know that in the past Sony Ericsson mobiles couldn't be easily unlocked, they needed cables software patches etc, but I have noticed that some websites are offering unlock codes for around £3, are they likely to be trustworthy? One such company is www.network-unlock-codes.com unfortunately there isn't a contact address or phone number so am a bit suspicious. Has anyone else used them? Market stalls etc still want £10 to unlock and I am not sure, considering the age of the phone, that it is worth it (The phone is locked to T-Mobile and I was hoping to use a Giff Gaff card)
    Cheers

  • So I received a HTC Sensation XL for review but it was locked to a particular UK network. I’m not going to reveal names, but I’m going to tell you my experience with a network unlock site that I’ve never used before.

Generally, I hate unlocking devices, preferring to use sim-free devices but in this particular case I had to unlock the device; I’ve not had the best of experiences using unlocking sites for HTC devices but I’m happy to say that within 4 minutes of ordering the unlock code, it was delivered to my email and worked successfully.

It’s not the cheapest, but after one experience with them, I’m happy to go back to them. They unlock devices from a range of manufacturers on a series of networks around the world and I definitely recommend them.

The website in question is unlockphonenetwork.com. I hope you have the same success I have had.
  • My phone is not lised on any of the unlocking websites.

Last summer I contacted Unlocking .com who charged me £29.99 and have not sent the code,All I get is your order is with the provider and will be sent soon.

Don't get involved as it appears to be a con.

    I use them everytime

    Prices from £1.99

I charge people £12 to unlock their phones, and use this site then pocket the difference

A blackberry or smartphone is usually about £6.99

You need a sim from another network though to put in your handset, a pay as you go sim are freely available from other networks or borrow one of your friends

They send you a code within 10 minutes, put this other sim in. Your phone will say invalid network and will ask you to enter an unlock code.

Type in the 10 digit code which is emailed to you by the above company and bingo

easy as pie and a 10 minute job

payment is via paypal and secure
