    I use them everytime

    Prices from £1.99

I charge people £12 to unlock their phones, and use this site then pocket the difference A blackberry or smartphone is usually about £6.99

You need a sim from another network though to put in your handset, a pay as you go sim are freely available from other networks or borrow one of your friends

They send you a code within 10 minutes, put this other sim in. Your phone will say invalid network and will ask you to enter an unlock code.

Type in the 10 digit code which is emailed to you by the above company and bingo

easy as pie and a 10 minute jo

b payment is via paypal and secure

SCAM!!! I tried this website at the weekend after reading this thread, and I never got my code, I waited 48hours and heard absolutely nothing except from the initial emails. I then sent a very brief email demanding my £5 full value refund through Paypal, and I received it the refund in the space of an Hour without a REPLY.
I have been waiting nearly 24 hours now and no code. I am starting to think it is a scam.
If i have not had nothing soon i will be reporting the company/Individual

    I never got mine either.
Did you ever get your code from this site? I was considering using their service but could do with some user feedback.

    I never got mine.

Well I am now paying for two contracts due to an inability to obtain unlock codes for our Motorola Defy phones. The phone shop I used eventually asked Motorola for a refund as it took so long with no codes coming through.

T-mobile also said they had to request the codes from the manufacturer and I am still waiting for them to produce something after a week.

Motorola tell me it is the operator who supplies the codes so basically I am stuck.

    Any ideas?

    The article says :-
unlocking your phone WILL invalidate its warranty in most cases

What's the basis for this in law?
    Is a warranty required anyway?
Couldn't I just claim under Sale of Goods etc should a fault develop?

    Does the article need updating?

Well, it is up to you. SoG works well only first 6 months and covers only manufacturing faults, not the ones caused by you. When unlocking you make unauthorised changes to the firmware.
  • It's not often I have a rant and reading posts looks as though am not the only one with this question ..which is..how long does it take a HUGE organization to organize unlocking a mobile phone, one of there own mobile phones and not some other Manufacturers either ....Answer..Over two weeks so far. Apparently the team are working on it... each time I have rung Vodaphone they say it is pending. Surely somewhere in the rules of Anti competitiveness they are in breach of something..if not this sort of thing darned well should be. If anyone has an unlock code for a Vodaphone 340 pay as you go it would be most welcome as want to give phone to Daughter whose own phone has died
  • There are a limited number reasons why people want to unlock their phones - sometimes they just want to use with a local sim card when abroad, sometimes it is because the subscriber wants to change networks or pass on an unused phone to someone to use on another network.

It is easy to get the PAK code to move your number to another network, in my experience, however the unlock code is a different matter. Anything from 3-5 days and up to 28 days to receive this code from the network. And according to my supplier it cannot be expedited, nor can I go direct to the manufacturer for it myself.

The phone is my property - I bought it - whether the network subsidised it or not is not really relevant, they entered into a contract to supply me with a phone, and according to their web site I can have it unlocked at the end of the contract period.

Sadly their web site does not state how long it takes to get the unlock code, nor does their helpful on- line request system work as you still have to call customer service ( for which they charge)

Is this an unfair contract being perpretrated by the mobile networks?
