I use around 150mb per day, and that is rationed due to this problem.

Kudos to vf though, they have given me two web freebees free.

But that still isn't enough data to do my job properly.
  • I have just used mobileunlocked.co.uk to unlock my HTC. It cost £7.99 (£10.99 with £3 discount through the unlock section on the Giff Gaff website) and took 10 minutes for the code to come through by email. My new network SIM appears to be working!!! :j
  • Does anybody know a sim unlock code for acer liquid e 3535080301194927? please and thank you
  • Can anyone help?

My partner's mobile is a nokia 6300 locked to Vodafone.

Vodafone will in theory unlock this phone for free... but their system states it is locked.

Some very helpful employees in the local Vodafone shop have tested it twice (since having to visit them on numerous occasions to try to fix this issue), and they confirm that no other sim card will work in the mobile, as it asks for a restriction code each time.

It seems that Vodafone cannot help... despite various emails, visits to the shop and a difficult phone conversation. Eventually they have told us to contact Nokia.

So, we contact Nokia and they tell us that only Vodafone can unlock the phone....

    We're going round in circles!

Any suggestions what to do next???

...but make sure you have thoroughly researched the price of flights before doing so!!!
  • Hi there just very new here and well i will be honest and say i am really not that good with technical things I have a problem I am trying to unlock my Samsung GT-B3310 from Virgin and i am just totally lost. I contacted Virgin and asked for an unlocking code so that i could use any network and was told that they just had to create one for me and she quoted me a 3 letter 6 number code, so off i went and pulled my sim out and put another one in and tried to enter the code and got no where it either tells me to insert a sim or that the sim i have entered is invalid am i doing something wrong can anyone please help me at all as i would gratefully appreciate it.

I have read Martins article and got the IMEI number but am just totally lost as to how i actually achieve this unlocking, oh and i should say that i asked for disconnections told them i was leaving and was told that if i rung them I would be provided the code free of charge and they did not charge me for it
    thanks
  • Quote from MSE page:

"It can take anything between 15 minutes and a week for your code to come through, depending on the network. Once it arrives, follow the instructions in method 1 to put it into the handset."

Um, not so in the case of T-Mobile. I requested an unlock code on 24 Nov. A week later I got a text saying I would get it by 15 Dec. Last week (10 Jan) I gave up waiting (having phoned TM customer service several times in the interim to chase) and called to cancel the order and get a refund on the fee. I was going to use the phone myself with an O2 SIM but have sold it on instead. Just wasted the last 6 weeks.:(

MSE - please update your advice on this as from several other forums I have visited (including TM's Facebook page) show that many other people have the same problem.

  • I have just purchased an IPhone 4 from ebay and it is locked on orange :( I am with O2 so it needs to be unlocked.

As of today Orange charge £20 for a phone unlock ;) and O2 charge only £15.

Always check with your provider first, Those two prices are a dam sight cheaper than any of the unlock sites I usually deal with.

Apparently now Orange will not unlock it if you have not bought it from them: Unlock T-mobile iPhone?

Today I went on the O2 website and chatted with a Guru regarding the unlocking of my iphone 3GS. He has done it for free..... you just need to be at the end of your contract...:)
    :)
  • Very nice, If the phone had been with O2 to start with it would have been so much easier, When I last talked on O2 chat they said exactly the same thing, They would have unlocked it for nothing ;)

So for anyone looking, Check there first!
