PUK code is for the sim card , not the phone , if you have forgotten it you need to speak to customer services , after more than 10 attempts the sim card is useless anywayEx forum ambassador

I contacted my Tmobile who gave me a PAC code for the pay as you go number, I needed- but I can not swap to the contract one because its the same company.
as suggested I obtained a O2 pay as you go- free simm to swap the number to that- then get a code for that the go back to tmobile.... 2 days in between......
So I put the O2 simm in to find it was not accepted.
Just paid £1-50 to have it unlocked online to find half way through the process the IME was not excepted. it has more than 15 numbers and also - in the sequence. (sony erricson K610i)
A lot of round the reakin for a simple task. Anyone out there any sugestions. I have contacted Tmobile but I am either having trouble understanding them or they me.
Ps I tried the trykillwebsite.
when would I need a PUK code?
Hi,
I have spent the last year and a half supplying network unlocking codes to allow mobile phone owners to change networks freely.
I am not going to even attempt to mention the name of my business or where you can find us, as that is not the intention of this post, nor is within mse rules iirc.
However, I would like to point out a few things that may help you (and others?)
The information below which is relevant to obtaining unlock codes is presuming that the person/company who are providing your unlock code do not have the handset in their posession.....
1. All IMEI numbers are 15-digits, (usually beginning with 35) however they may have additional digits added to the end.
If your IMEI number appears to be more than 15-digits, then for the purpose of obtaining an unlock code, you should use the first 15 only, ignoring any numbers after that.
2. Unlock codes can be obtained by providers (like myself) without being in posession of the handset, in 1 of 3 ways - (a) by calculating the code from the IMEI using an algorithm (b) by obtaining the code from a manufacturer database (c) by obtaining the code from a network/service providers database.
Not all methods are available for all handsets.
Unlock codes for Sony Ericsson handsets (i.e. including your K610i) cannot be calculated directly from the IMEI, they need to be obtained from a database.
When refering to unlock codes, there are two "groups" of SE handsets. The first group contains only a small number of handsets (known officially as S1 platform) and codes from this group cost around £8. The majority of SE handsets are in the larger group and codes for this group cost around £20. Of course these prices may vary slightly depending on your code supplier but only by a few pounds (if that)
There is no genuine unlock code service for SE handsets that costs £1.50
If you have not done so already, i would try to obtain a refund for this, even if it only a small amount.
The good new is, that your handset K610i belongs to a group of SE handsets (known officially as DB2020) which the majority of can be unlock for free using a DCU-60 datacable and free software.
A DCU-60 datacable is the official/original datacable that is supplied with 90% of SE handsets when they are new. They can also be bought on ebay for around £2.
If you have a DCU-60 and want to have a go at unlocking your K610i, google the following phrase/words "DB2020 XS++ setool2lite"
They are plenty of free guides and the software required is free also. (dont pay for anything)
If you really get stuck, gimme a shout and I'll talk you through it
Good Luck
Best Regards

Thanks just managed to get a Samsung M7600 unlocked, not the cheapest at £13 but worked, and not a temporary code. Took about 24 hours.
Did your page you ordered from said it just worked for Blackberries?
I'm trying to get a nokia C7 unlocked on T-mobile and AFAIK all t-mobile unlock codes work on all phones but just want to be sure before I proceed with the order!
I can't see why the code wouldn't work with a Nokia if I give them the correct IMEI surely?0 -
My first time on the Forum, can anyone point me to the correct page for unlocking codes, Im lost.
Not free but near enough (99p) ... I used this to unlock my Nokia 6500 on and the seller lists quite a few different Nokia models and networks although none of the latest additions or smartphones
cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270691894949
Hope it helps!

With reference to Three Mobile. I have been a three customer for 3 years. My contract was up and with no issues at all they moved me to pay as you go. I called them today and asked Three if it was possible to unlock my phone. Three said its £15, and I asked if this could be done for free, she checked my account and said yes. Really pleased.:j I now have an unlocked phone for nothing!0

just to say thank you for the information, when i looked at my charges on my mobile I found it cost me £13-01 not £1-50
I shall chase them up for a refund and have already emailed them and a papy copy to send off. it also said I needed to send proof of age! not sending that (over 18)
I think I will be able to do this now myself but would like to say that Tmobile were not at fauult but the website that I tried unlocking it from. When looking at it again I noticed this time that they redirected you to another website for mobile other than Nokia. I realy got caught out! I live in hope that I can get a refund!
Thanks again for your realy usefull response :T0 -
