Any help on unlocking a Samsung U900 Soul which is on 3. I want to use it on my Vodaphone contract as my Samsung Soul has gone kaput and I have to wait until ~Sept for upgrade. Many thanks.

You can unlock your phone for free as I tried it using the instructions from another forum.

I have been trying to unlock a spare Samsung Soul which is on 3 as mine has broken and I'm not due my upgrade until Sept. I am on Vodafone contract. Any help with unlock codes would be much appreciated as I have tried online unlock codes before and they haven't worked even though they have taken my money. Please anyone.

    O2 phones unlocked for free.

I have just bought a Sony Eric X10 mini pro on a 18 month contract with O2. However I wanted to use the phone on another contract. I called up O2 customer service using normal number and spoke to assistant who said no problem and took my details. She said it will be sent off to Sony and they will be in touch with the unlock code within 14 days max by phone or email. She said O2 no longer charge for this service and so dont bother wasting money on these web sites. Just contact O2 and they give you it for free :)

So...pls let me know if they come up with the goods as I've just bought the same phone at the deal pointed out by Ziggy.

Or does anyone know of a cheap unlocking site ... best quote from a reliable site so far is £26.99 which seems a bit steep to me!!

    Hi.
The cheapest I found was unlocks.co.uk @ £4.99 but I was starting to think along the lines of 'you get what you pay for'.

I went to unlocks after reading your post, to get my Blackberry 8900 curve unlocked. And it worked for only £4.99 and took less time than figuring our which options to press on the Orange "Customer Service" helpline.

Orange flat out refused to do it for less than £20 even though I'm out of contract and own the phone outright.

I'm obviously going to leave Orange now - they were not at all nice on phone when I called - I'm off to Giffgaff.com

I looked at this site and it quoted me £25 for a common model Nokia! Seems steep for a website.

    Hi.

So, with no safe free way to get it unlocked i started looking through various so-called professional unlocking sites. The cheapest I found was unlocks.co.uk @ £4.99 but I was starting to think along the lines of 'you get what you pay for'. Anyway, he who dares wins and all that so I paid my £4.99 and got an email through confirming the purchase. Then about 5 minutes later got another email saying my unlock code was ready. Maybe it was just my untrusting nature but I thought it was a bit quick, although it did say on the site 5 minutes to 24 hours for delivery.

Not really expecting the code they gave me to work I followed the instructions they supplied and entered the code. To my utter amazement it worked!

Just wanted to share this because it seems most of the posts in this thread relate to the bad guys, but there are still some good guys out there :D
  • Does anyone have the code to unlock this phone?

Ok, ... so decided to go with FonesZone (https://www.foneszone.co.uk) to unlock my X10 mini-pro and it couldn't have been easier...but £25 wasn't cheap!

Great communication from Richard Wong and my code was provided with 24hrs ...

    Great service.

Yes - lots of problems ending up with my son stranded in Detroit with no phone working - they dont mention up front that they give you a temporary unlock with a code that has to be entered every time you turn the phone on and off - it is in the terms and conditions that it might be a temporary code - but main problem is that code does not work! How this adds to the resale value of the phone as they say on their home page I dont know - I have asked for my money back with the format earlier on this thread.

I did reply to this but my post seems to have disappeared when I updated it. I used unlock database for my son when he went to the States on Wednesday - and the code did not work which was a problem as he got seriously delayed in Detroit. Also when I got the code it said it was for a temporary unlock as stated in their "terms and conditions" -it does not say that on the home page only in th small print on the next page that in some instances you might get a temproary codeand. You would have to put in the code and follow the instructions each time you switched off and on the phone - not really a proper unlocked phone with an increased sale value which they say on the home page. Anyway I sent the letter that a previous poster on this forum put up and got a refund this morning after quoting the relevant legislation - so quick refund which is good but no unlocked phone. Other solutions - my son's friend bought his phone for £20 from Carphonewarehouse and it was already unlocked or it will cost £15 from O2 to unlock the phone. It needs to be unlocked as he bought a special dual number Sim for use in the States so he does not run up large phone bills.
