Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Just having to sort this out for my Dad. He has placed an order with unlocksolution to have his phone unlocked only to have the reply that they cannot do his phone and a list of other places that could help.
I have checked companies house and they are not listed.
I have checked their site and they have a scroll down box for the make of your phone but you have to enter the model of it into a box, however this box will let you enter ANYTHING into it and will accept it even if it is just "aihfjadnf" which obviously is not a real model.
I find it strange that they accept payment even when they cannot unlock that model, why do this unless you are just scammers?
Hopefully I can get their money back, its only £5 but at the moment that is a lot of money to them. Ive messaged them via their website, will await their reply before taking it to paypal.
    Avoid Avoid Avoid Unlocksolution.co.uk
As you know from reading our terms page as requested when using our order form, this information is supplied as your hanset model isn't on our in-house compatibility list which which forms part of our our Terms page. https://www.UnlockSolution.co.uk/terms.asp
    Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j
  • Ive just been completely conned by a company called Unlock Search, paid £4.59 via Paypal for an unlock code for my new mobile (also conned on Ebay when the seller neglected to mention the phone was locked to Orange) and was sent a report telling me to take it to the dealer or the market! Already knew this before I entered my IMEI details etc - the website gave the impression an unlock code was conming instantly - have complained via Paypal and am hoping for a full refund.
But dont touch this company with a barge pole
  • I also bought a code from unlocksolution. I was going to write off the loss as a learning experience, but sent the following message using their online form:

"Please can you supply a full refund of £5.74 GBP to my Paypal account. Your terms and conditions are very misleading, and unless a full refund is issued, as well as raising a dispute with Paypal, I will be taking this matter up with all of the relevant Trading Standards departments. My rights are protected under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, and this correspondence is well within the seven day cooling off period.

    Thanks"

Within a few minutes the refund was credited. As a consumer, it is always worth quoting the exact name of any rights or regulations that you are protected by, and be firm yet polite.

  • I used unlocksolutions.co.uk to unlock my 85 year old's friend's phone and just got nothing in reply. i e mailed them and got an automated letter. Nice con this.
  • I have tried two web sites: unlockthatmobile.co.uk which uses a premium rate phone number to supply your unlocking code. There is no model number drop-down box so you only know that your model number is not supported part way through the automated phone call; the other website is mobi-unlock.com which charges from £1.99 for unlock codes, mine cost £3.44 including VAT. They send the unlocking code via your email address. I will re-post when/if I receive my code
  • hi trying to unlock a lg kp170 on t mobile network any help would be great
  • Hi,

I have a Nokia N95 8GB on three, and want to unlock it so I can use a another network contract sim.

I've read that only a shop / stall etc. with a lead can do this - is that right

Will a Three shop be able to do it? Any idea of costs.

I bought the phone 2nd hand, so I am not on contract with Three.
    Thanks for any Help;),

I also got caught by their Scam - who reads Terms and Conditions, anyway? (that's where it says if your phone is not in their list then they will merely provide information). I cut-n-pasted your text into the "Contact us" box and got a refund straight away - brilliant. Thanks for that.
  • i`ve just been done for £5.99 by Unlock solutions. They ignored my e-mails so I opened a dispute with Paypal, then escalated to a claim, paypal refused my refund as it was "not goods" ordered. I filed a complaint against Paypal and received a same day response. they still refuse my refund but state it will remain on unlock solutions account and if enough people complain/dispute, they will investigate further and may then refund.

    Dear Darren Moss,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your concerns. I am happy
    to assist you further.

In relation to your concern, we will be more than happy to help you get
your money back as long as the guidelines set forth has been followed.
Kindly understand that although PayPal's main service is to process
payments we have complaints procedures as benefits offered to account
holders to help both parties resolve issues between both parties. However,
there are some instances that we can not control such having an item sent
as faulty and being lost in transit. That is why we have set rules on
complaints cases so we can help resolve the issue otherwise issue needs to
    be resolved amicably outside PayPal.

In a Significantly Not as Described case kindly note that for us to justify
our resolution we would need to compare the pre and post description of the
item. This means to say that the item description should be linked to your
    payment transaction details.

It shows on our record the item is purchased outside eBay, which means
there no item description for the item is purchased. For this reason we
will not be able to justify our conclusion if we investigate the case.

I have checked your account and I was able to see you were able to file a
case however it was closed automatically due the item purchased outside
    eBay.

The good thing though is that the information you have provided during
filling the complaint is saved on our record against your seller. We may
re-open the case and notify you via email once your seller receives several
    buyer complaints.

For a seller using our service fraudulently, we may take legal action
against the account holder violates our Acceptable Use Policy.

You may still take legal action or try to contact trading standard as
    alternative.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.
    Thank you for choosing PayPal.

    Yours sincerely,
    Haydee

    Form Message
customer message: Describe the nature of your complaint: 'I payed for a
code to legally unlock a phone, from unlock solutions, via Paypal, i was
sent the address of a shop over ### miles away, I did not receive the
"goods" I ordered. You closed my dispute as it was not for "goods".
Google search now reveals unlock solutions website to be a scam, but you
are not interested as you are greedily taking a commission from every
transaction, you are profiting from a scam . You should be ashamed of your
    dodgy activities.'
