Barclay Card ...Customer Service ...?

My old Morgan Stanley card recently changed over to barclaycard cashback account.
I dont use the card to spend as I have a fixed rate on a balance transfer that I am gradually paying off.
Last month they made an error and my minimum payment amount was double what it usually is, plus I had a £12 charge for missing a payment when I paid on time, as usual. I phoned and queried these and got the charge refunded and the minimum payment set back to what it should be, although the overseas call centre could not offer any explanation as to why this happenned.
However this month I have another £12 charge for a missed payment, apparently their systems still have the previous months bill at the higher incorrect amount, which my payment did not cover.
I got this charge refunded again.
What I am concerned about is will my credit history now show 2 missed payments?
I have written to Barclaycard to clarify this as the call centre are absolutely useless. Is there anything else I should do?
I need to apply for a loan early next year and have tried really hard to make sure there are no black marks on my credit history, I dont want that all spoiled because of Barclaycards stupid errors!
Thanks..0 -
Right having spoken to the 'Bank of Mum and Dad' they are going to give me a 0% balance transfer so I can cancel this new Barclaycard and avoid all this trouble you are having. Thanks for the warnings and I hope you all get sorted out soon.0

Hi
Its good to know its not just me having problems. I changed my current account to Barclays after repeated problems with NatWest, mainly being that when I was 13-17 they frequently charged me £40 for being overdrawn by a couple of pounds. When I changed banks, I was in the middle of moving out and when they offered me my first credit card (I was 19 at the time) I jumped at the chance because I was naive and wanted to get nice things for my new place. 7 months down the line, I have had to leave my job and have only got an xmas temp job. My OH has had to pay all the bills in the past 7 weeks and therefore couldnt afford the minimum repayment on the Barclaycard. My sister has my old mobile, which I gave Barclaycard the number for when I got it, and have had so many angry texts from my sister. She has got 4 phone calls a day for the past few days. Is this not harassment?! I am sending them a letter because the past few times I have tried to ring them, I either haven't been able to get through to someone, or they have cut me off.
I am paying off this card and cancelling it as soon as possible.
WORST CREDIT CARD EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
We changed to BC when they took over Goldfish. When we were with GF we paid the balance of in full via telephone on the last day of the month. Hubby went to pay today using the same method & when he tried to key in the amount £3175 was informed can only pay £3000!! Finally got through to India to be told some garbled rubbish about it being the banks fault??? but he could go into a Barclays bank or pay online - but the problem is the money isn't always in our account in time to be able to use those methods.......so even though we could pay our balance.....Barclays technology won't let us!!! So everybody be warned if you want to pay your balance via telephone......make sure it's not over £3000!!!
We have been told that we will be charged interest but to ring next month to claim it back!!!Virgin CC [strike]£6133[/strike]- gone!!!!
A&L Loan [strike]£2000[/strike]- gone!!
Car loan £4000 - 20 months left

PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT0 -
guys you know what to do to for barclays to notice this dont you? take action and leave the goddamn card company, simple, you guys make it sound so hard....just leave.
as an Asian myself I find it ridiculous not with barclaycard but with 3G mobile, thats different, but same principle, for businesses in this country call centres should be within UK, i am going to leave 3g in the summer as well as many others who leave to make them notice0 -
This is so easy to deal with guys, all you have to do is insist on being transferred to a UK call centre when they answer the phone, You don't have to speak to the Asian call centre if you don't want to. I haven't used offshore call centres with Barclaycard for ages & everytime i call i just tell them i want to be put through to a call centre in the UK, they have never once refused my request & it saves a lot of frustration - they do have UK call centres, it's just a matter of insisting to be transferred to one & it's actually surprisingly easy to do so.0

if you wanna speak to an English call centre person call this number.
01642 663780
i had to physically go into a branch of barclays (the same one i have a current account with and make a complaint through that channel) They experienced first hand themselves what it is like dealing with these idiots in india.
Oh and my wife was told yesterday that they get paid to hound/pursue (there words not mine) people in arrears.0 -
Looks like Barclaycard have got wise to this. I tried ringing that number and got put through......to India!!!
My problem is that I keep trying to pay for things online and my card seems to be permanently blocked. I ring up .... hmmmm India... and they tell me there is absolutely nothing wrong with my card. So we start the circle again, and again, and again.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:0 -
I would also be grateful to know a UK contact number for Barclaycard as I am currently in a dispute with them. When you phone their Indian call centre you speak to somebody different each time and it is just sooooooooooo frustrating having to go over everything again:mad:
funny that cos I also think its the same person, they all sound the same! oops!
Seriouly though, I rang them this afternoon and asked for my agreement. He put me on hold and 2 minutes later said he had it and would send it out.
Hmm, why do i think he's bullshi*tting me? They already wrote to me last month telling me that they no longer hold my application form in their records.
I suspect I will get a replica blank form of some sort..0 -
I have to call them in a few days , after reading this thread , i cant wait...0
