My vet recommended this for my dog. We really notice when he hasn't had a capsule for a few days. BTW it doesn't have to be expensive ones, we give Bruno ones we bought in savers for 99p

Thanks - will try this. She's already on glucosamine for her joints which is helping a lot - and the vet told us to get her normal ones from Tesco/ Bootss they were cheaper than vet ones. Only thing is she hates taking tablets but we're working on it.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Happy birthday martyn, master kyle and master Tru.
The weather here is very changable & I'm getting tired of running in & out to the washing line, I can see me ending up with it all on the rads soon.
The phone rang this morning & I don't know many people who are up that early, when I answered it I could hear a lot of noise it sounded like a building site. I purred 'Hello Sexy' down the phone as I assumed it was hubby. His rather surprised friend replied 'I take it he's at work today then' How embarassing.
I can see it is going to be one of those days, I've also put a dishwasher tab in the washing machine, I blame it on my being blonde, I refuse to accept that I'm having a senior moment.
On the subject of what/where not to pierce your self with a knitting needle, I once knew a guy called Albert 5 Rings, hmm, maybe I'd better save that story for my blog.

Beautiful day here in Littlehampton, got one load of washing out, and the final load of holiday washing is in the machine, will hopefully get it all dried today.
Going to go walking today, my dog has been at my mums for the week, and has put on loads of weight, my mum gives her breakfast lunch and dinner, with a digestive at tea time  , she has one meal a day with me, and never asks for more, so will take her for a few good runs this week.
Meatballs for tea, need to check I have some spaghetti, also need to get potatoes as I forgot with my online order.
Still got another week of the school holidays :T , so no early starts for me untill I go back to work on wednesday.

CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
REDRUBY - welcome back from your holiday!
Bit late on here today - I'm spring-cleaning my kitchen - why do I always think it will only take a couple of hours?!! Still, I'm about a third of the way through it and it's looking much better.
It's a beautiful day here so I need to peg the washing on the line. DH is happy because he's washing the cars (including mine, aren't I lucky? I hate that job!)
Anyway, will love you and leave you. Have a great day, everyone. Will catch you all later.

Welcome to our new posters :hello:
Ancasta - lovely to see you back!
We didn't go to Ikea on Thursday as DH woke with a headache, so we went yesterday instead. I'd planned to just return the unwanted duvet set and then come away, but as usual with Ikea it didn't work out like that.....DH wanted to buy a leather cover for his Poang armchair as the fabric one rucks up when he sits down, and a footstool; I had another look at the chairs and decided I would like a Karlstad armchair to replace mine which is quite bulky in a smallish room (didn't buy it yesterday tho) and we bought a "Rocking Moose" for DGS20moHe'll love it.
Called in to see him and his Mum and baby sister on the way home. DD quite miffed as DGS starts swimming lessons on Monday at the newly-opened leisure centre near their home (sadly just too far to walk) so she wanted to register DGD for the creche, have a visit to check to see what it was like, etc. It was her second visit to the centre, and it was still as shambolic as the first time, just after they'd opened. She was told that she couldn't register DGD as "the system's not working properly". She did meet the lady who runs the creche, who was very nice, but DGD will be due for a feed at the same time as DGS's swimming lesson and the creche staff won't be able to feed her - they can only give milk or a drink to children who are old enough to hold the bottle/cup themselves, as they are too busy (well they're not atm as they haven't got many children there yet, but I suppose it's understandable) So basically she got both children ready to go out and into the car, unloaded them at the other end, was only in the place a couple of minutes and found herself more or less turned away and ended up taking them straight back home
So as I usually see them on a Monday anyway, DD is going to pick me up and I'll feed DGD while DD takes DGS to his swimming lessons. :A
The leisure centre has been open about three weeks and seems to be the local version of Terminal 5 - not enough staff yet (lots of advertising for staff in the foyer) and no-one seems to know what they're doing. It really seems as if they opened before they were ready. It's quite expensive too - DSIL wants to go to their gym, but it's £6.80 a time even for members and they worked out that with parking as well, it would cost over £1000 a year, and they haven't got that money to spare. DD's friend has suggested she get an evening job on Reception one day a week, then she'd get a discount on membership etc. Her DH wouldn't always be home by the time she had to go to work though, so that's not really feasible.Oh well
Lots of washing to do today, and it's sunny (atm) so hopefully it can go on the line outside.
Dinner tonight - no idea yet, will see what looks nice when we go to the butcher. Also hoping to do some decluttering if I feel up to it later:j
:hello: :hello: :hello: to everyone I haven't mentioned individually!
Have as good a day as possible.

If hiding the capsule in a treat like one of those squishy dog biccys or in a piece of bread doesn't help, pop it in her mouth, hold her mouth closed and hold her head up. Then gently stroke her throat, this will encourage her to swallow. The capsule should go down ok. If that doesn't work, grinding the capsules and sprinkling in her food will work just as well.
If you hide it in a treat, don't let her see you hiding it, Bruno got wise to this and nibbled the treat off and left the tablet :rotfl::rotfl:
Bruno takes his cod liver oil as a treat now, we started making him work for it so that he thinks it's something good to get

happy birthday martyn and master tru:j :j

Thanks for all the advice. We have tried putting it in cheese, butter, pate - all of which she ate the treat and spat out the tablet. Trouble is then the little "terrierist" shoots in at the speed of light and eats it - and he doesn't need any help with springiness!!!
Last night I ground it up and put it in jam - she just refused point blank - so ATM we are on the holding the mouth and stroking the throat!!!
Last resort will be getting of the kids to pretend to eat it and "accidentally" dropping it - works with all food!
It's just annoying as we can see them making a difference even after a week.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”
