Happy birthday to Martyn, Master Tru whoever you may be! Have yet to recognise people in this thread.

Up and about as dd and oh (is he oh when he is fiance?)are off to table tennis. Then when ds emerges from his pit we will be going to ah's house to fill a third skip today. Only took hour and half yesterday to fill one. Hoefully then we will hvae broken back of the heavy work and then down to fiddly things like glasses and ornaments etc to clear. Two freecyclers hopefully arriving to take away various bits of furniture which will make life easier too.
Sparly coming to quote for electrics. House need complete rewire.

We are spending so much on his house it doesn't feel very os, but hooefully by September we will be able to rent it out and start earning an income in which case I can give up work! (I only work one and a half days as it is!)

I need to arrange for an auctioneer to look at the rest of the furniture so that we can decide whether it is wort auctionning or just give it away. Our local one is Hogbens if any of you ever watch daytime auction programmes. Hogben is the auctioneer that always looks like a bit of a "spiv".

So busy day ahead. Next week should be less so and I shall be posting about ironing etc! (Of which there will be a mountain to do as I have done nothing this week at home. )

happy birthday martyn, master kyle and master Tru - bet you cried Tru - I did when the eldest 2 hit 18.

Well i forgot the golden rule of coming back from holiday and have all the unpacking and washing to do as well as the rest of the nastiness that is my house which was left in the should-be-capable hands of my 22yo daughter. Regualr Readers will remember that last weekend exoh decanted the contents of dd(11)'s bedroom into the living room and my bedroom while he decorated - he did nothing all week! despite there being two rucksacks on the kitchen floor filled with washing dd(22) has put her stuff in the machine - I myself have done nothing but roar at people so far.

The holiday was great but we wouldn't go back there again - We had asked for caravans next to each other - they were as far as could be, it was very cold at night, and the first night there was no food to be had in any of the restaurants so we had crisps for tea. dd's litle friend had to be prompted into her p's and q's all the time but i expected that. I always moan about holidays - I think i should stay at home really.

dd and I are spending a couple of hours cleaning and washing and will then head off to the Town of Many Charity Shops for soem retail therapy - have a great day everyone
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Morning everyone,
quite windy here but it`s lovely and sunny too.

Today i will be running around with the hoover and then an hour or so in the kitchen before w**k.
The little old houndie has a poorly leg and he couldn`t settle very well so i slept downstairs on the sofa last night to make sure that he was ok, he dosen`t look too good this morning either so i`ll keep an eye on him, we have some tabs for this from the vet so i gave him half of one last night and i`ll decide later if he needs more.

Happy Birthday Martyn and also to Master Tru :bdaycake:

Pen Pin - sorry to hear of your loss.

    Have a good day everyone

    No tears here :D

A bit of anger though, I've just been in his room to wake him up and he was fast asleep - with his girlfriend

You share your birthday with master tru :D He's 18 today. 18  I feel soooooo old. He sent off for his provisional driving licence last week. I was hoping it would take 2 weeks to arrive but it arrived on thursday - he's thrilled because he's planned a pub crawl for today and he now has ID  I am not so thrilled

Understand your anxieties re pub crawl!

Little Miss Ivy (or maybe Black ivy rather than purple?) will be 18 in June. I can' deal with that, but finding it hard to get used to the idea that she won't be at home on a permanent basis. She's being slow to get her driving lessons in, so not much use at running herself round. Won't miss driving to Manchester on a regular basis!

Well, now I have had a few :coffee: I can see straight :p
Wm has finished and I have chanced putting the laundry out on the line. It's bloomin cold on the hands though this morning, damp laundry + cold air = sore hands :o
Second load in and that's me all caught up, just have to iron later, which I hate. Might leave it until tonight then do it with a glass of wine beside me. By that stage I won't be as fussy about what gets done and what doesn't :rotfl:
Kitchen wiped down and cooker cleaned as well. Some nice person spilled stuff on it the other day and I had the baked residue to scrub off  Ah well, it's done now. Groceries to do later and something to make for tea. It will be a freezer lucky dip me thinks. I need to get the freezer cleared so I can get on with bulk cooking but so far not making much of a dent. It just seems to multiply in there
Must go and dig something out for Sunday lunch as well.

Will be back later to catch up again.

    Morning all,

Haven't been around for a while - fell off the OS wagon a bit whilst adjusting to new part time job - but am fully back on track again.

Lovely day here - will get the bedding out on the line in a mo. Am going to have a cleaning and baking day at home - dh is playing golf this morning with ds2 as caddy and then they are both going to a Cub cycle badge this afternoon. Ds1 has a history essay to write this morning and he's off to a birthday party this afternoon. They both have youth club this evening so I shall be on taxi duty - will try to do another square in between.

We have a new addition to the family - of the 4 legged variety. :D She's a collie/ retriever cross whose owner died - she's 11 but pretty active still. She's been in kennels for 2 1/2 years so is very happy to be back in a house and our little black terrorist dog is coping pretty well with the invasion. The kids love her and she's great with them - the only thing is she moults like crazy:eek:

Dinner tonight is meatballs - dh sent ds1 round to the shop for chocolate and extra strong mints - he came home with chocolate and steak mince :rotfl: He is still getting teased about looking in Tesco for "extra strong mince" from super strength cows!

Happy birthday to Martyn, Master Tru:beer:

Sorry to hear about your loss Pen-Pin

    Have a good day everyone

Just read this, give her a cod liver oil capsule every day. It will help with the moulting. It won't stop it but you will see a difference. It will also help her joints. My vet recommended this for my dog. We really notice when he hasn't had a capsule for a few days. BTW it doesn't have to be expensive ones, we give Bruno ones we bought in savers for 99p

Didn't wish you all a good morning, just jumped right in, how rude!

We have youth orchestra rehearsals for the concert tonight, so busy day, DH gone to do moving stuff to venue, I'm collecting some other kids in a minute. Started curried nut loaf for tonight, so all the dodgy looking bread is used. Indian style cauli & Chickpea dish to accompany and maybe some spicy rice or wedges also. Something that is in the house and 'cheap'

Not sure how I will accommodate shopping tomorrow, as we have long chorus rehearsal...11-5. COmpetition coming up. need to get some lunch sorted out to pack up and 'ready' meal from freezer (ready, as in I've made it already!

    gOTTA run, see you later
