    Morning :D

Welcome to OS and the thread, RHYSDAD.

    Happy Birthday Martyn :D

Been up since 5.30 to see DH off to work. Not really done an awful lot since! Well, I did wash some baggies that I have collected up and they are now hanging out on the line, confirming my neighbours belief that we are rather odd (I know, but they are good quality Lakeland ones so I want to get my moneys worth!!). I also decided that I could cut our shopping bill back a little more so I sat down with a cuppa and some coloured page markers and have started to go through my 'Tightwad Gazette', colour coding recipes to try, sewing projects, ideas to try out etc......how odd and obsessive does that sound? Maybe the neighbours are right:D:D:D

Have some sewing to do later with DD9- we have decided to buy no new clothes for this year (other than shoes and undies when needed), to help us save some money up for a house deposit. We have all got far too many clothes anyway, and I often get hand-me-downs from friends whose kids are older than ours. I went through DD wardrobe with her yesterday and we decided what was charity/keeps and 'turn into designer togs' :D 'designer togs' are clothes that we customise, eg a t-shirt which is too small lengthwise is having a little lacey trim added to lengthen it, holed jeans to shorts etc. I have sold this idea well to her and she loves it :D

Not really got any more plans for today other than hoping to spend a couple of hours up the allotment when DH comes home this afternoon. I have a patch waiting for potatoes and and even larger patch waiting to be dug!

Have a good day, everyone, and hugs/thoughts to those that need them.

    Morning all

:bdaycake: Martyn. Happy birthday, don't look at me, I didn't tell anyone where you are ;)

Late today as I don't usually post on Saturdays, but DH has gone off to an auction on his own (nothing of any interest to me), so I am just having a leisurely breakfast before nipping down to Asda for tonights curry.

    Hope everyone is OK x

I was hoping it would take 2 weeks to arrive but it arrived on thursday - he's thrilled because he's planned a pub crawl for today and he now has ID  I am not so thrilled

Glad you are soundng a bit more cheerful today.

When you can be seen by youknowwho think of something that puts a smile on your face like hester's suggestion of what to do with pointy things:eek: - it will really confuse her to see you looking cheerful!

Have had breakfast and will be taking DD back to Newcastle today.

I just get used to having a daughter back home and then off they go again!

She loves her course and has good flatmates so she is really happy there.

Will take her shopping for fresh food and heavy stuff so she is set up before we leave and might talk DH into stopping off somewhere for a meal as well to give him a break from driving.

The fruit cake I made yesterday is neary all polished off but cannot understand why all the fruit sinks to the bottom when I make it in the BM!

Might take the square I am knitting with me and do some of it in the car.

This causes my DDs considerable amusement.

    Rhysdad

The tightwad gazette is worth it for the muffin recipe alone! DD was going to a picnic last year with friends and made a dozen cheese, onion and bacon muffins and a dozen apple and cinnamon ones plus a chocolate cake. The whole lot probably cost under two quid and everyone was very impressed and scoffed the lot.

Hugs to everybody and see you later.

Hi Smoky, take care. Thinking about you all as usual.

Sorry to hear you had to come home early PennyP.

Happy birthday to Martyn and Master Tru.

Weather awful here today - absolutely pouring with rain. Need to catch up with the washing. Not much else planned as yet.

:grouphug: and :hello: to everyone xx

Had a lie in today, didnt get out of bed until 8 - but have already got the WM on, rolls are making in the BM and wiped the kitchen down. The children and i have now had a breakfast of tea and biscuits!!! We are having a lazy day today - nothing planned - so will prob stay in my pjs!!! Tomorrow they are out with their dad, its the only time he can come down near DDs birthday (another 2 weeks away) so she will get her pressies from him then. He doesnt tell me what he has bought, so hopefully nothing i have already got her.

Busy girl - yes, i already do before and after school, they are handy, but cant do too many as they take up too much room in the car, and means you cant have another younger one during the day!!

OK, enough drivel from me - hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • Good morning all
My first post on one of these daily thingy's. Usually by the time I get up all of you are finished your chores!!! Seriously, I thought I was up early this am (8) and got my washing out - sat with coffee and started surfing - well, all of you must be seriously sleep deprived!!! The last time I saw some of these times in the morning, I was still a teenager!!!!

Going to the gym shortly ( have started walking during the week and only going once per week to save membership fee!!) and then will do some work in the garden as long as rain keeps away! Have a great weekend everybody

    Good morning everyone,

Martyn and Master Tru Happy Birthday _party_ _party_

I've had a busy week this week, with a few things to sort out. I had to deal with everything myself as dh is away at sea, but I did it, and I'm quite pleased with the way that I handled things.

I did all my ironing on Thursday, and fixed the hoover (I keep hoovering up things which aren't meant to be hoovered and snapping the belt), so yesterday I gave myself a day off.

Ds and I went out to soft play, we had lunch out, and I had a ready meal in the evening (ds had cheese on toast). Tut tut, but I'm back on the home made food today.

Pen-pin, I'm sorry to hear your bad news. Please pass my condolences to your OH.

Smoky (((hugs))) and please keep us posted on how you are doing.

    Take care all of you
