  • Their terms and conditions are misleading. Here's my experience details:

"Instalment 1: - Send us this form and the original bill that arrives showing you’ve been connected for 4 months. I.e. if you were connected on the 1st of January, you need to send in the bill that is dated around the 1st of May. This is 120 days (4months) after connection."

From these instructions, what I understood was that they wanted the bill dated 120 days after connection (where the 4 months in brackets was an approximation of 120 days - their example of 120 days is a unique situation on a 365-day year whereby those 4 months equate to 120 days exactly).

My contract was connected on 23rd March, therefore, 120 days from this date would be 21st July. From basic common sense, this date occurs within the time frame of the (4th) bill dated for period 24th June -> 23rd July. This satisfies the condition that I have been connected for 4 months.

I sent away my claims with the bills using the assumption of my above understanding and they have refused to send me all cashback so far. I ordered 2 contracts from them so I have sent away 2 claims each time for each offer (2 * 2 * £72 = £288 total con). Each time they have sent me either a late claim or early claim letter which I refuse to be amused by (On the letter, they also say that I have sent in the wrong bills). I called them up and the woman on the phone said I was "not intelligent enough to understand their terms and conditions". How rude...

I have bought similar offers from onestopphoneshop which I had previously branded as oneshitphoneshop purely from the reviews I read on forums such as this. However, they surprised me and I have received every single cashback to date from them and I would certainly recommend them.

Now, I have just noticed that phoneboxdirect's claims address has changed several times since I joined. The current correct address is:

    Mobile Media Systems Ltd
    Claims Dept.
    PO Box 8896
    Bingham
    Nottingham
    NG13 8XT

Phoneboxdirect? More like phonyboxdirect...I personally think this is ridiculous tactics for a phone company to use to avoid paying cashbacks. Definitely the worst company I have dealt with and their offers are exactly as they seem - too good to be true.

did you follow their terms and conditions correctly. sometimes u also have to makesure u send the correct biil. just because its says 4month bill this doesn't mean to send ur 4th bill. some networks send the first bill within 2 weeks of connection and thereafter the rest come once every month.

also did you send your claims by recorded delivery to ensure they are delivered ?
  • Yes, I sent all by recorded delivery and I followed their terms and conditions correctly. I sent the bill that invoiced the time period that the 120th day occured in.

I think this is where the problem. They want a bill that dated PASSED the 120th day.

for my case, the connection date is 25 May
    25 May+ 120 ~= 25 Sep

"3" actually bill me on 3rd day of every month (Iactually receive the bill via post a week later). So for my first claim I sent in the bill received on begining of Oct (bill dated 3 Oct). and I received my cheque early this month.

I have been told to wait for my next bill (the 5th, but then having been connected for more than 120 days) - is this right? Please confirm!

You must send them the first bill that you receive AFTER you have been connected for 120 days. If you received your first bill soon after connecting then this will indeed be your fifth bill.

  • Right folks, don't normally need to do this but I need to pick everyone's brains!

About to do a cashback claim for phoneboxdirect but I have deleted the email they sent me when purchasing. Now I have managed to come across the cashback claim form and I have to send in my bills for the 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th months. Line rental is £30pm and only 11 months free after cashback so I'm thinking the cashback value should be £330. From there I need to know if the instalments are in equal payments, ie do I divide that £330 by 5 to get £66?

Also I am unsure of my order ref number which is required on the cashback form, do you think they would give me it over the phone? Do they even have a phone no.?
