  • i have 2 lines from phonebox connected end of september. did my order over the phone and from the start didnt like their customer service as they kept saying t-mobile did not authorise my phone, when t-mobile told me there was no problem. countless times they said they would ring me back and they didnt. etc. AND did not get an email with the cashback form link. called them to ask and the nice lady told me she will send me the form. that never happened. so now my problem is i have the form which i got from a link on MoneySavingExpert. but can i use that form as i understand they all have different codes on top? AND i have no order reference as they were in my diary and my bag was stolen. i was stressing over that fact until i read the posts today. so phonebox is going bust. do i even bother trying to get all the info for my cashback form? or is it all in vain now...

I spoke to a very nice guy at Dextra Solutions (who are the distributer for PBD/CMN etc) who read to me a statement they had been provided. It said that 2 People had been appointed as administrators to look at the viability of the company and its contractual commitment to its creditors (inc those owed cashback) It went on to say that for the next 72 hours no more information would be available until these matters had been looked at. A message would then be posted on the site (we assume PBD) informing customers as to the situation

    Hope this helps a bit

thank u. as i have nearly 2 months to start claiming i will keep an eye out for their statement.

    Joke,

Seemingly you were involved in an organisation that whose business plan was not to honour your agreement with their customers.

So sorry the 45 people lost their jobs at cnm/pbd etc. Their customer care was second to none. They were always honest and sincere with me as with numerous others on this and other threads.

Seriously considering launching a charity to raise funds for distressed ex employees of CNM/PBD. Anyone care to help...?

    Neill
well if i ever get my cashback i MAY pledge to give it to that charity you are considering starting lol

I have Just spoke to Consumer direct and the insolvency company and PBD have not gone into administration yet. They are in voluntary liquidation and so there is a possibility that they will come out of it. If they do all claims can be made through their adminstartor and we may get some money back.

do we each individually need to take LEGAL action.....

Incurring any legal costs now would just be a waste of more money. Although you would win a small claim against them for not paying your cashback, you would not be able to get any money out of them.

Await details of the liquidator, and contact them to register as a creditor. Don't bank on getting anything at all, and turn to trying to reduce your monthly outgoings with the network.

if we were to reduce cost with phone company would we be prevented from claiming cashback

They're not likely to wait 12 months for you to send your last bill in ... process will be over by then. So i'd say yes in my opinion. Don't forget the chances of you getting anything at all is very slim.

Afraid there won't be any cashback coming from PBD. You will be joining a long line of creditors - and will be at the back of the queue should they manage to make any payments.

Reducing the tariff with the network is the only way of reducing the £280 you say they owed you.
  • You may be loosing cash back but at least you still have your jobs and an income. There are more than 40 people who lost their jobs, with out warning on wednesday. I feel for them with it being so close to christmas. Especially the customer care reps, they were always exrtreamly helpful and polite.

They may owe me £336 but i can lower my tariff, they have got to find another job.

Bear in mind who will be paying their jobseekers allowance whilst they find other jobs.

Employees cannot be assured their employer will last forever. They weigh such things up when they decide to accept the job.
