You are correct the "money savers" do need to learn a lesson. The innocents in this are those people who have replied to customers in good faith and have taken the abuse of customers who haven't claimed correctly then gone running to the court, papers, watchdog shouting scam.

If the networks phased out cashback then this company which was alredy trying to plan a restructure of the business to that effect would not have been forced to go bust. Unfortunately for all concerned the networks who have pushed companies to place these deals on their sites have the ability to wash their hands of it. In June when OfCom introduced thier Code of Practice this was only mandatory for the networks. Some companies like PBD and CNM signed up voluntarily to the Code only to be faced with customers now shouting that the new T's & C's were theirs when everyone knows that the T's and C's agreed to, which followed correctly like myself paid up, can not LEGALLY be changed.

Are we talking about the company which started claiming not all pages had been subvmitted and unilaterally changed their T&C to make their payments due after45 days rather than 28 and then failed to meet even this standard whilst denying customers who were even 1 day outside a 14 day condition that could no longer be seen on the website?

My view is that the best deals will be sought out by those who will be the most fastiduos in making their claims thus companies like PBD/CNM are unfortunately bound to end up with above average redemptions. However once they are seeing such a pattern it would be obvious that they were heading towards insovency. Continuing to trade in these circumstances is a criminal rether thab civil offence. I hope the directors are sleeping easy tonight...
    I think....

Yeah, I blame the customers. Ofcom, the networks, watchdog and the CIA for what happened too.
I hated the way they were forced to tell us that the cashback forms we sent were correct and they would shortly be sending payment - and then didn't.
I also hated it when people thought just because they followed t&c's to the letter of a deal advertised all over these websites that this somehow meant that they were entitled to CASHBACK.

You need to now concentrate all efforts on minimising the outgoings. The chances of getting anything at all once the liquidation of PBD is completed are slim.

See if your network will help out by allowing you to reduce your tariff etc.

    Wow:mad:

My first claim is due and I started reading this hoping I could pick up a copy of the claim form from someone.... not much point sending a claim in now.... at least I get to save the £4.30 special delivery charge:D

    I have a TMobile phone from them:rolleyes:

I'm also in charge of my firms mobile contract... which happens to be with T-Mobile so will speak to my account manager and se if I can get my personal contract ended......
  • I have two contracts and have just seen on moneysupermarket.com that Phone Box Direct have gone BUST. Does anyone know if this is true?. They owe me £280. If it is true do we each individually need to take LEGAL action and if so How do we go about it. Does anyone have an address to write to?

I spoke to a very nice guy at Dextra Solutions (who are the distributer for PBD/CMN etc) who read to me a statement they had been provided. It said that 2 People had been appointed as administrators to look at the viability of the company and its contractual commitment to its creditors (inc those owed cashback) It went on to say that for the next 72 hours no more information would be available until these matters had been looked at. A message would then be posted on the site (we assume PBD) informing customers as to the situation

    Hope this helps a bit

    Joke,

Seemingly you were involved in an organisation that whose business plan was not to honour your agreement with their customers.

So sorry the 45 people lost their jobs at cnm/pbd etc. Their customer care was second to none. They were always honest and sincere with me as with numerous others on this and other threads.

Seriously considering launching a charity to raise funds for distressed ex employees of CNM/PBD. Anyone care to help...?
