You may be loosing cash back but at least you still have your jobs and an income. There are more than 40 people who lost their jobs, with out warning on wednesday. I feel for them with it being so close to christmas. Especially the customer care reps, they were always exrtreamly helpful and polite.

They may owe me £336 but i can lower my tariff, they have got to find another job.
'helpful and polite'. Shame they did not do what they said they would do whilst being so. I was lied to. They tried to cheat me and hundreds of others whilst drawing their salaries. I have no sympathy or interest in their problems.

You can't blame the employees for the companies problems!! That's not fair - the employee's were no doubt just doing what they were told - do you really think they spoke to you on the phone said 'oh yes we'll pay you shortly' then put the phone down and went 'ha ha like he'll get his money, i'll just file his claim in this bin - what an idiot, we're going bust so the joke's on him!!!'

I'm sure your stance would change should your employer go bust! I'm now missing out on my £420, but i'm not nasty enough to say the employees are to blame & deserve to be unemployed now!
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...
  • Some of their employees were taking part in cheating their customers. I was one of many who they tried to cheat with their "missing page" scam.

I am just annoyed I did not insist on on my cash back when I had the opportunity.

I have emailed T-Mobile and asked what they intend doing for their customers who bought contracts through CNM. If enough of us do the same, politely please, it may stir them into making an offer. They cannot say they have no responsibility for Mobile Affiliates, they were more than happy for their companies to sell T-Mobile contracts, knowing the cashback deals were unlikely to be sustainable.

Maybe they should have had the courtesy to find a more reputable company to work for when they saw their customers were getting RIPPED OFF ! Then they wouldn't be in this position for us to try and squeeze a tear for.

    <H1 style="MARGIN: auto 0in; TEXT-ALIGN: center" align=center>PHONEBOXDIRECT

Mobile Media Systems Limited – t/a Phoneboxdirect and Mobile Affiliates Limited t/a Coolnewmobile and Phones2yourdoor.
These companies were placed into administration on Wednesday 14 November, the joint administrators being Philip Lyon and Steve Wood of Mazars LLP.
Phone Box had been actively marketing via the internet mobile telephones which offered cash-back incentives to customers, providing certain conditions were met by those customers.
Unfortunately the number of customers that were able to comply with the terms and conditions and hence became eligible for the cash-back payments exceeded the company’s expectations. The company is therefore no longer in a position to meet its ongoing liabilities to those customers.
It had been hoped that negotiations with the supplier of the telephones and the networks involved would have enabled a “rescue package” to be implemented to assist those customers affected.
Unfortunately it has not been possible to achieve that objective within the timescale available to the company.
The company has insufficient money available to enable payments to be made to employees and therefore it will no longer be able to answer any individual telephone enquiries. In addition, it follows of course, that email communications will remain unanswered.
We are in the process of obtaining the company’s records of the email addresses of all customers. Any future communication will be by email or posting to the company’s website (www.phoneboxdirect.com) or (www.coolnewmobile.co.uk).
We anticipate that customers main queries will be regarding cash-back claims. Our initial investigations show that these liabilities may be between £4-10 million. There is no possibility that the company will be able to make any meaningful payment to any creditor, whether consumer or supplier.
The second query from customers is in connection with their ongoing contracts with the network suppliers. We are unable to advise individually on this point and would suggest you to contact your network supplier direct or you may wish to take legal advice or contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards Office.

Lets not get personal now, everyone is in the same situation and so we should work together. I have contacted CAB and they said that there is nothing we can do, what we need to do is plead with the line rental companies to help us. I have rung watchdog and if everyone does the same they can help us, by persuading phone companies to give a bit of Christmas spirit and help us. The number for watchdog is 020 8535 1000.

Lets group together and hope that we can reduce our loss

  • People are sending this email to their mobile operators in an effort to stand united and hopefully get a line reduction ... created by Ken - Thanks Ken ! Worth a try if we all give it a go.

"I bought into your service via Cool New Mobile (Mobile Affilliates), who have gone into administration leaving thousands of people (myself included) out of pocket wrt the cash back deals.
It has been clear for months that CNM were nothing more than a scam operation, see

Why did you allow yourselves to be associated with a company set up to defraud the public?
Why did you add the veneer of respectability to this company by associating your name with theirs?
What will you do for the thousands of customers with 3 contracts sold by CNM?"
