Must be something wrong with your calculations; if the first claim was three days short the next can't be four days short - it MUST be less! Of the intervening months, one must have been 30 and the other 31 days so the second claim must be one less short than the first!

As regards the general situation, however, you have a poblem. The choices seem to be:-

    1) send in the same and hope for the best. By the time they decline it'll be too late to send the next month instead. Would you win if you sued? Tricky! They DID pay the first but the t&c say not. Legal advice on that one, methinks - and a judge's discretion!

    2) Wait until the correct month under the t&c; maybe actually safer - whether they honoured the first claim or not doesn't mean you haven't fulfilled the t&c for the second, BUT would draw it to their attention.

    3) Risk sending them an email asking THEM. IF you get it from them in writing you would be covered. usually in my experience they have replied - but if not you will have drawn it to their attention to no avail.

Generally with such things I think it's better not to post on general display for similar reasons as some of the above. It is also MUCH better to make sure you follow the t&c from day one AND get their written confrimation WELL in advance if unsure. If nothing else you'd at least be able to show a judge that you'd done everything to clarify the their requiremnts if it came to it. Better still, set the contract up in the first way so this doesn't happen - if you can!
  • My connection date is the 25th of April 2007.

Adding 120 days brings me to the 23rd of August (2007).
My 4th bill is dated the 20th of August.

Adding 180 days brings me to the 22nd of October (2007).
My 6th bill is dated the 18th of October.

In your experience, how long does it take to receive a reply for an email query? If they are as slow as for claim updates, then I run the risk of missing a deadline if they decide that 4 days is fine.

I'd call them, but I reckon that a confirmation in written, even via email, is safer.. plus, I am not keen on the idea of calling a premium number that I read they've adopted.

    Thanks.

Ah... the bill date is 2 days earlier, which explains it. In my experience usually a day or two. That's when it's no demanding payment when they ignore them. You should decide on which option of the other two to follow before you send them one - in case they don't reply. The fall-back position would be to apply now and again next month if you're unsure - the maximum cost of so doing being £10 plus one signed for service. However, a positive game-plan is better.

A phone call isn't as good, I agree. If you DID take that option (I wouldn't) make sure you note the name and time/date and precisely what you're told.
  • My wife and mum got the same orange deal Nokia 6300 on Canary 40 in may/jun 07

    450 xnet mins
    100 orange mins
    200xnet texts.

Could anyone confirm the deal was £480 cashback ? as in what did it say in the blue box on the pbd site at time of purchase.(may 25 +jun13) that is the question.

I got myself a 3 deal with pbd 3 wks before and recomended them both -they got Orange(different billing dates to me) - my head hurts with all this responsibility.

I am 100% happy about which bills to send and will send rec deliv with the correct pbd ref. no. and i am not completely stupid, just need a little comforting.

    God willing!
  • All I can say to THAT is that if YOU don't know you'll be lucky to see any of your cashback anyway!
  • I know mine (3) is £367.50 but just thought that someone who got the orange deal/phone my wife and mum in may/jun they would back up my £480 'memory'. With the VAT and stuff the bills arent that conclusive. But i am 'quite' confident it was £480

P.S. Got my third email back (the one that says they 'll be in touch in 10 days and that my claim has been authorised) Is this conclusive that i will definitely get my 1st payment.
  • Maybe you need to read the thread and the one on Coolnewmobile. No, it doesn't seem to mean a lot. You also have a at least one more email to come - probably in another 2-3 WEEKS. Then a month or two at least before the cheque. This is not a game you should play if you're this vague! Especially with this company as it is now. If you get the slightest thing wrong on any form, they'll stuff you for ALL the claims. THAT is extremely likely if you aren't 100% certain of the deal that was signed up to.

The amounts on the bill, the period they cover and VAT is ALL irrelevant. It's everything else which matters!

Just hoping someone who got the orange deal/phone as my wife and mum in may/jun they would back up my £480 'memory'. (its just i've seen £420 mentioned a couple of times in threads similar to this and if someone said 'yeah but that was for my 'non orange' deal i might feel better)

I am 100% happy about which bills to send and will send rec deliv with the correct pbd ref. no. and i am not completely stupid, just need a little comforting, so general references to my stupidity are appreciated but not that helpful and will just serve to debump my dilemma.

My Order at the end of June for my Orange/Canary/ Nokia 6200 with Phonebox direct was £480 and my Voda/CNM/Nokia N70 was £420 cashback.

    (If that helps)

I ordered my phone on March 8 (I have the email to prove this). I only recently received a letter from pbd stating that I had not included a dispatch note with my first claim.

This "dispatch note" was never given to me and apparently was only introduced in July!

My question (as I am thinking of MCOL) is how do I prove that the T&C were different in March as I am sure they have changed their website now. If anyone has a copy or something could they email it to me?!

    my email is jmctaggart@gmail.com

A million thanks to anyone who can assist. +plus one forum thank you.
