Can someone explain the consequential loss cover please - are you saying that it covers you if phoneboxdirect say that a page is missing in your claim? Otherwise it provides no more compensation than recorded delivery - £34.

    thanks

    From the Royal Mail website.
We can only offer Consequential Loss for items sent using one of our Special Delivery services. Consequential Loss is for financial loss that is separate from an item’s actual market value, incurred as a consequence of delay, loss of, or damage to the item.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.
  • Thanks to mobilejunkie and lynsey, I will let you know how I get on, and who's advice I followed ;)
  • Maybe we should have a bet on this one? Lol! Of course, if I'm right they won't tell you in time to use the next bill....! SO - you'd better keep a VERY close check on it should you send the September bill!
  • What does a Phonebox direct reference number look like? There is a 7 number reference written on my depatch note, and a different reference number written in my order confirmation email in the format PBD123456. Thanks very much!
  • It appears that both mobilejunkie AND Lynsey were right, in a way...

I have just had clarification of the terms from Phoneboxdirect, and they allow 3 days extra meaning that I need to send them my bill dated 117 or more days after connection. So my bill at 118 days is fine :)

You need to use the one on the email - I used the one on the dispatch note and they wrote back just over 2 months later denying my claim. Am going to send them letter before action as this is clearly in breach of sale of goods act.
    I think....

I think that they are in the wrong, but, could you explain the part of the the Sale of goods Act that it is clearly in breach of?

If you are sending a letter before action you need to include it if you are to be taken seriously.

Seems to be the unfair conditions in consumer contract regulations not slae of goods act.

Some info is in this post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=6021171&postcount=669

There is another post somewhere with an even clearer statement of the relevant term which I will try and find later.
    I think....
  • have you tried ringing them up to ask when to send in your bill? I did that and they were surprisingly helpful...turns out i'd been trying to send mine in a month too soon. this was a year ago though and they seem to have gone down hill since then. but worth a shot
