My 1st bill off orange has

    Your service plans (VAT applicable)
    canary 40 (12 month contract) : 21st March - 16th April
    canary 40 (12 month contract) : 17th April - 16th April

I have counted 120 days from 21 st March which turns out to be July 20th, am i correct in thinking i have to send July's statement off?

I got the statement in the other week and i just put it away thinking a dd was set up, i got a text the other day saying my bill is now due and thought no more. I was looking at my online statements and no orange has come out, i looked at the direct debits and no dd was set up for orange so i set one up online. Will it affect my claim that no dd was set up regardless to the fact i put my details in when filling it all out online when i was ordering the contract as the is no way not to fill it out.

I spoke to orange and asked them will i need to make a further payment as i have just set up a dd, he said the amount will be taken on the 2nd but the second is a couple of weeks away and the date on the bill is 17th april, will it be taken or should i just pay it now, will it affect my claim?

you can calculate the date from http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html
So your next claim date is 19th july.(120 days after connection). You need to send the latest bill issued on this date or after this date to phonebox direct. On this bill there must be no owings means your account must not be negative. But still it is best to pay the money if they are giving you the option as these companies try to refuse the cash back claims on any grounds.
  • Has anybody taken Phones Box Direct to county court ? or did they pay the cash back at the last minute. I'm thinking of getting a Samsung u600, the deal looks great, but a little nervous as I don't want to end up losing money paying for an expensive tarriff and not getting the cash back..

Relying on taking them to court won't guarantee they'll pay you during the course of the 12 month contract.

Winning in court is the easy bit - you can't the get money out of a defendant if they have gone (or are going) bust.

See if a more reliable retailer will match the deal you have seen.

Hi, i was wandering if anyone who has sent there cashback claim in to phoneboxdirect around the middle of March has received a cheque yet? I sent mine in on 13 March and no sign yet. Its been 32 working days since I got the email message saying I would hear within 28 working days grrrrr. I looked back at the email today and was a bit dismayed to read that it is slightly different to what I have had in the past. In my previous claims the email has said 'we are pleased to confirm we have processed your claim and your paperwork will be out in the next few days'. The email I received on 29th March says 'your claim is being assessed and we will have your paperwork out within 28 working days' I hope this doesnt mean they have found some excuse to not pay out!

    Thanks for any replies,

they are running very slow with sending out the cheques. My feb claim cheque arrived about 2 weeks ago. They have confirmed process of my April claim, so its a matter of waiting. They do pay out just sooooooooooo slowly.

I took out 2 contracts with phoneboxdirect and sent off my claims in March in separate envelopes .They admit they received both then I had a letter from them saying I has sent the wrong part of the t mobile bill and they were docking £10 from my cashback .I was to send them the correct part which by I did by 17th April deadline and surprise they are now saying they never received it and my claim is invalidated. They said I was to receive a cheque for the "3 "contract but am still waiting and my next claim is now due

I bought a phone from phoneboxdirect (and also coolnewmobile who they are linked with in some way) and had no problems with the cashback
  • Hi. i have recently taken out a contract from coolnewmobile.com and i am also soooo confused with how to claim my cashback. Please could somebody take a few minites of their time to help me out.

I decided to take the nokia 6300 contract on vodafone with 12 month free line rental.

I recieved my phone on the 11th of April (connection date). i have now recieved my first bill which came on the 10 of May. This bill charges me line rental from the 11th of April till the 31st of May.

My second bill will be from the 1st of June till the 31st of June - which will be recieved on the 10th of June.

My third bill will be from the 1st of July till the 31st of July- which will be recieved on the 10th of July.

My fourth bill will be from the 1st of August till the 31st of August- which will be recieved on the 10th of August.

My fifth bill will be from the 1st of September till the 31st of September - which will be recieved on the 10th of September.

Could somebody please tell me on what date i should send off my cashback claim form and which bill number i should send with it. Also i have not recieved my cashback claim form in my email??

Please could you help me out with y query. All responses will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Lots of people are asking which bills they need to send so im going to try and clear this once and for all.

You will receive a bill few days after you receive your mobile phone. From this bill take the BILL DATE. So say the bill date is 18th March 2007. The day is always fixed from each and every bill. So every month your bill date will be 18th of whatever(eg 18th july, 18th august etc ).

    Now go here: http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html

In the field of: "Enter date to add or subtract from" put in THE EXACT DATE of your BILL DATE from your first bill. So in this example we would put 18th March 2007.

Now its a simple matter of adding:
    120
    180
    240
    300
    360

    DAYS.

So from above the 'actual' dates would be:
    Monday, July 16, 2007
    Friday, September 14, 2007
    Tuesday, November 13, 2007
    Saturday, January 12, 2008
    Wednesday, March 12, 2008

From the dates above +/- 5 days is the BILL you need to send in. As each month varies in days (from 28 to 31) it will never be the exact date. So from the above you will get through the post bills dated:
    July 18th
    September 18th
    November 18
    January 18th
    March 18th

These are the bills which you need to send in. Always send in the ENTIRE and ORIGINAL bill(there is a copy of the bill online or just keep a photocopy for yourself). IT IS IMPERATIVE YOU SEND IT RECORDED DELIVERY AND YOU RETAIN THE 'SIGNED FOR SLIP'. Remember to print out the form which must accompany the bill when you claim. Put in all the CORRECT details including your customer ID(found in your confirmation email) and circle the claim month and SIGN IT,.

To try and remember onstore the date in your phone. Put it the calender etc.

Also bear in mind the bills take about 7 to 12 days to come through the post after the BILL DATE. Plan when you take out your contract stragetically. So if your a holiday person who takes a 3 week holiday during the summer, take the contract when you wouldn't need to claim during August. Don't take a contract if your in and out the country. If there is an emergency, tell a relative exactly what they need to do, fill the claim form properly for them, put it in an envelope, get a signed for slip on the envelope and even a stick a £2 stamp. So all they would need to do is put the whole bill in the envelope, seal it, take it to the post office to be stamped and thats it.

If you need to make two or more claims YOU MUST send the claims individually!!!! I.e you have 5 claims you need to send you have to put each one in one envelope with its own tracking code with its own claim sheet which is fully completed.

If you have transferred an number to the contract you must send in your first bill along with your 'claim bill'. The first bill must show your number

These people most probably make money by hoping 1 in 20 people forget to send in one claim. Remember forget one claim and thats it! You can't claim for anymore cashback. Don't get caught out!!

Also from on they take 45 working days to send your cheque! Thats about 2 months!!

After one month of sending your bill call them up: 08700 427 895 and ask 'what is the status of my cashback claim' Have your customer ID number at hand

And purschase your handset through https://www.quidco.com because you get £30 free!!

This entire post applies to CoolNewMobile as well.

Hope this post answers most questions on: 'When do I need to send my bill', "What should I send my bill" etc

    Thanks.
