Hi Snakebite,
Yeah i'm with Orange now and had real trouble with my cashback claim because they wanted my first bill with proof of porting on it. The trouble is, it didn't show my original number on that bill so I had to spend extra time trying to get proof from Orange, and time is one thing you have to be careful of when getting these claims in!Hi
I'm new to MoneysavingExpert so please excuse my newbie-ness
I'm looking to take out a contract with Phoneboxdirect and I would like to port my number. I have read a previous post in this thread and porting seems to cause some problems with cashback claims.
Has anyone had any experience - good or bad - with cashback and porting?
Thanks!0 -
Absolutely the worst mobile phone scam company I have ever dealt with. I sent in my first claim a month early due to confusing wordings in their T&Cs and Cashback offer documents. They deducted £10, just for this. They say that they never received the 2nd claim docs, now. They say all my future claims are void now. And all this time, I am paying over the odds for calling this 0870 number. If I can, I am going to tell all my friends and whoever else I can to avoid this company.Look after your pennies, and your pounds will look after themselves!0

Hi
I have been with Phonebox Direct and had my first two claims paid properly. In relation to my claim 3, they sent me an e-mail authorising it and that a cheque would be sent out. When I did not receive the cheque 3 weeks later, I rang them and they said they had sent a letter saying that I had failed to send the correct documentation. However, I did not receive this letter.
I spoke to someone called Ingrid who told me to resend the claim and she would sort it out. After sending me a letter rejecting the claim, I spoke to her and she said they would void my claim 3 and pay the remaining ones out.
I said I was not happy with this and complained. Thye have now voided all my future claims. They said the e-mail sent authorising the claim was sent in error.
I am taking them to the county court and would be interested to hear from people who have had probloems with them because of their onerous terms and conditions. As I work in the legal field, I believe they are unfair.
I would be prepared to help others who want to sue them through the county court!0 -
Hi all,
Sounds like a few others of you have had the same sort of probs as I have.
I'm using the consumer direct website to try to get the money i'm entitled to and if it doesn't scare them enough, i'll end up having to take them to court.
I'm telling as many people as I can about the way this company treats its customers and hopefully, if we all do the same, it might kick up enough of a stink to cause problems for them!
I'd be interested to find out how everyone else gets on.
Keep posting your progress! :mad:0 -

I'm in precicely the same position, just sending in my last claim now after sneding in previous one a month early. Just got a rejected letter then no acknowledgement of correct month. Please contact me!0 -
The reason I ask is because it is taking longer and longer to get cash backs from them.
I have logged the dates the bills are sent in and the dates the cheques are recieved.
First bill sent 19/07/06 cheque recieved 05/08/06.
Second sent 19/09/06 recieved 18/10/06.
Third sent 18/11/06 recieved 03/01/07
Fourth sent18/01/07 and still not recieved, despite having e-mail confirmation on 08/02/07 that the paperwork had been processed and would "be out" in the next few days.
I have sent e-mails which are not answered and I have given up trying to phone as they never answer.
I would seriously consider whether it is safe to take up any of their tempting offers currently on their site.
What are other peoples current experience of them
when i sent my first bill i received the confirmation through e-mail that i would get my cheque in 28 days i think i did get it on time BUT
when i sent my second bill on 14 Feb 07 and it's 14 April 07 today and no sign of cheque yet ......
i contactd them a few times about it but i didn't get any positive response from them But
i did tell them in my last communication that if they don't payup i might contact BBC Watchdag about my problem..

you know what Maj i feel like sueing them too but as my lack of knowledge and experience i might not get into it, .> but
i tell you that thefirst calim they send on time as they did then get bye bye type first 1 i got in like 28 or 36 days the second 1 till day its been over two months and no cheque. so they are not reliable i would say but what are my options....>>.If electricty comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?0 -
these people do pay up, just take a while because they only have one monkey writing cheques.
If you wanna lend them a pet it will be alot faster.

I think if this problem is wider, Trading Standards could get involved and do a class action lawsuit, and everyone affected becomes a party. Does anyone know more about this?Look after your pennies, and your pounds will look after themselves!0
