I did miscalculate 1 - and sent that off 1 week too late - hoping they will allow it.0

I've seen the last few posts saying 'no problem with cashback' etc and I'm encouraged to get a 12 month free on 12 month contact deal with them. Could someone please tell me what the latest terms are? In particular what is the timescale of submitting your bill from the mobile operator and what are the (their) stated timescales for receiving the cashback.
I am confident of submitting things on time and correctly. I've successfully got 2 out of 3 cashbacks from phones2udirect and I'm sure phoneboxdirect can't be as bad as them!!
Regards,

Well I like their new offers on the website, sooo tempted to get another contact, just going to sit tight for a little while though. I sent my cash back form via special delivery on the 17th jan, meaning they must have received it on the 18th. They emailed me instantly saying the received it and there going to despatch the cheque. I phone them up on last friday, they were adamant its on its way, they couldn't say when i would get it but i said should i get it on wednesday or thursday at the latest, they said yes.
Maybe I am just the unlucky crow, but I mean I am expecting to send in another bill in the next day or 2 which could well be before I receive the cheque for a bill submitted 2 months ago!
Will keep you posted.

Hi,
2/2 responses regards reliability of cashback claims. What are the timescales for claiming cashback?
Thanks0 -
Hi,
Sorry if this goes on a bit but
reading this thread for the first time, and hearing about people getting their cheques, I thought I should give a warning to people thinking of taking up a contract with PBD.
I took out an Orange contract for 12 months with 12 months free, a few months ago with a company called Mobile Affiliates which is apparently the same company.
All seemed to be ok till I sent off my first claim and because I ported my number over, I had to send off my first bill proving the port as well as the 5 month bill. The trouble was that my first bill had no mention of the original number and porting. I sent it anyway and waited, and waited...................
Eventually I had a letter back saying it wasn't right - just as I was setting off on a weeks holiday so it had to wait another week.
On returning I contacted Orange and they said they would send a letter proving my porting.
At this point I only had a week left till my cut off date but thought I would be ok as I could send it by next day delivery if it was a bit close. I waited for the letter until the Saturday (cut off date Mon) but it didn't come and I was getting desperate so I rang Orange. They said they had posted it. They would be able to fax me a copy but not until Monday when the porting dept would be in.
So ....... Monday came (luckily my day off) and I had all the documents I needed but my claim had to be in the same day!
Determined by this point to beat the system, I drove over 60 miles to the address on the claims form (which took me to the middle of a field) and eventually found the sorting office with the P.O. box. I even had the presence of mind to get a signature on delivery.
What did I get for all my trouble?
A letter saying my claim was late so I loose the whole £440 and they can give me no further help on the subject!
This company goes by several names and the registered address is a firm of accountants!

The reason I ask is because it is taking longer and longer to get cash backs from them.
I have logged the dates the bills are sent in and the dates the cheques are recieved.
First bill sent 19/07/06 cheque recieved 05/08/06.
Second sent 19/09/06 recieved 18/10/06.
Third sent 18/11/06 recieved 03/01/07
Fourth sent18/01/07 and still not recieved, despite having e-mail confirmation on 08/02/07 that the paperwork had been processed and would "be out" in the next few days.
I have sent e-mails which are not answered and I have given up trying to phone as they never answer.
I would seriously consider whether it is safe to take up any of their tempting offers currently on their site.
What are other peoples current experience of them0 -
You will get your cheque, but you will just have to wait longer. For some reason it has been taking longer for them to sent out the cheques.
However, I suspect that they must be really busy as they have been offering really good deals (12 months free line rental)so when it comes for people to claim, they will have a lot of claims to process, hence the delay.
Another reason could be that they are waiting for payment from the networks, as well as people cashing in the cheques. They don't want to be sending out cheques (for people to cash in) if they don't have the money from the networks.0 -
Thank goodness it is not just me! I thought I was the only one having trouble with them. I have 2 contracts with them, currently waiting for the third claim to be received, mailed to them 6 weeks ago.
They also have been short paying me on one of the contracts but will not respond to any e-mails or letters (sent recorded delivery) when I contact them. I cant imagine I will have much luck getting them to pay me what is due, which will be about £52.00, since they do not respond to any correspondence.
Wouldnt use them again, good deals but too much hassle when you are permanently chasing it.0 -
Have actually recieved an e-mail from them apologising for the delay and saying that my cheque will be out in the next few days.I will let you know how"few" they are.0

My experience of them have been a right joke.
I ordered the phone online, entered the details of my Asda Credit Card, and then waited for a response. About 4 days later, nothing. So I phoned up, get gven a different number to call. So call the new number, and get told that there's been a problem processing my address. Can I confirm the address on the credit card bill? So I do that, and get told it should all go through, and they will contact me if any problems. About 5 days later (including the weekend), I still don't hear anything, so I phone up again. Get asked to call the other number again. So call the other number, and a bloke on there tells me that Asda isn't a UK issue card, and so it cannot be used to verify the address. So I give them my other credit card, which apparantly isn't showing the correct address. So I tell them I have a Barclays Connect Debit Card, and he tells me that I cannot use that as it won't do the job! So I ask what happens if people don't have credit card, just debit card, and he says that they can't apply for a phone!?! So I ask what I needed to do if I were not going to go ahead? Would it auto cancel or do I need to cancel it? Then I got buzzed to go to a meeting, so I told the bloke I'll decide and call back later.
Then the next day, I call back after checking address on other credit card, to be told that I had cancelled it. So I ask to speak to a supervisor, who tells me that if I wanted, I can go ahead and take the phone, but will need to re-order it. And I was also told that Connect Debit Cards are fine.
When asked why the didn't contact me, he told me that they had emailed me automatically through the system. Funny that I have no email then! So I asked him to email me, and straight away it came through!
Basically, I decided against this company, as I thought it would be a nightmare to receive the cashback, if they can't even sort an order out. And if they cancel the order on the whim of the word cancel, then what sort of a company is it to give cashback?!
I'd beware in this case I think people...0
