Daft question if I may. Looking at Playa Blanca for a holiday in October. Is there much difference weather-wise between the 1st/2nd weeks in October and the 2nd/3rd?

Hiya! Not a daft question at all. There can be a risk of rain towards the middle of the month... but temps are fairly standard, and the sea is very swimmable.

    Thank you. Holiday booked. Yippee!!

Just sorting out a hire car with cabreramedina now. It's cheaper for 10 days hire than it is for 9. Do you think I can book to take the car back later in the day than I actually will?

Yeah - they should be flexible. Might cost you a little more... but worth asking anyway.
    Have a great time! xxx

It's a little overcast at the moment... but don't worry - that shouldn't last for long.

    Hi Georgiec78.

    Don't apologise!

The HL Club Playa Blanca is a nice enugh hotel, and not too far a walk from town either.

As it's your first time in the resort though... why not have a look at a couple closer to the beaches for your little ones.

Here's one for you that is great for families: http://www.thomson.co.uk/destinations/europe/spain/lanzarote/playa-blanca/apartments/flamingo-beach-resort.html

  • Can I second Ellie's recommendation of the Princesa Yaiza? Stayed there at Easter a year or two ago, and thought it was fantastic - one of the nicest holiday hotels we've ever stayed in. We had a great week, dividing our time between beach/pool/sunbathing, and a Manrique-themed culture crawl. Reading this thread makes me want to return!!

It's gorgeous isn't it thebestnameshavegone? The spa is especially lovely... and as for the Japanese restaurant - well... it's just gorgeous! Oh, and happy afternoons sat on the terrace of the piano bar supping white wine - lovely. Mind you at €8.50 a glass it should be!!
