Thanks again for the previous advice.

Just found out my hotel in Playa Blanca has chargeable wifi - so disappointed.

Are there any free unencrypted wifi hot spots around town, either in a cafe, in a public space or in hotel lobbies that don't require a password?

Don't worry - lots of bars and cafes have free wifi. As long as you are buying a drink, they'll give you the password. As for places that aren't password protected... hmmm... not sure - but I think you'll struggle to find those.

The cake question is nice and easy. Contact Dave & Marion at Le Moka - they do special occasion cakes all the time. www.canarynightlife.net/le-moka

Also... Sarah at English Cakes Lanzarote comes very highly recommended. https://www.facebook.com/english.cakeslanzarote

As for Indian food... I'm a bit out of touch with those now, as I cook my own Indian food and have done for a couple of years now. I always rated Indian Tandoor House in the pedestrianised area. The place is modest and not shiny new... but the food is very very tasty. One place I won't ever touch is Spices on the seafront. 3 times we tried it... and 3 times it was dire. Shame, because the setting is stunning. Fazz's gets mixed reviews. I've never eaten there so cannot comment on a personal note. The nearest Fazz to you is upstairs in the Rubimar Shopping Centre.

Hello HxIrish. Loads and loads of companies and websites to choose from. I've been using https://www.lanzarotelates.com (about 7 years now) to book for friends and family when we couldn't squeeze them in the spare room. Email Marie on info@lanzarotelates.com

The taxis are all governed by the Island authorities... so you are safe calling 0034 928 524 222. It will cost around €50. Would save you money if you book a private transfer instead. "Last Minute Travel" and "Canarias Puerto Mar" are well worth a look. At that time of the morning, it will probably have to be a private transfer..a Google search will bring uo their websites for you.

  • You can book taxis online at https://www.taxitourlanzarote.com

You can also have a private minibus for the same price, or slightly less if you book a return. They'll meet you in departures on the way out, and pick you up from the apartments on the way back.

I have it on good authority (playa blanca destination expert, tripadvisor) that those guys are spot on service.
  • Thank you very much for the great information. Much appreciated :)
