Thanks phylom, for some reason the villa people seem to be struggling to get us a router and are offering us a dongle only - not that useful between a laptop and 4 smartphones! But it would allow radio listening if no-one else was using it, which is not likely to be very often! I have my fingers crossed though...0

Try contacting Robert Blackie, his wifi rental gives you a base station router that you can connect multiple devices to......

My family and I (total of 6 adults and children) are coming over to PB this Christmas. It is our first time in the Canaries because we usually favour the caribbean but my arthritic bones cant handle the flight this year and neither will our budget as it goes.
Your thread has provided such insights and I would appreciate it is you could recommend one or two excursions to take the kids to. I know you have suggested going into town to book a trip to the Volcanoes with the company there and I know someone else has kindly suggested kikoland in Princess Yaiza so I think we'll check these out anyway.
We are staying AI at the Dream Gran Castillo and we are hoping it will live up to the promise, we will try and focus on the positives and just have a good time away from the wintry conditions in ol'blighty.
I sent an email to 'info@t4you.eu' requesting a quote for airport transfer for my party but have had no response. The website shows no number only a link to email. I will hold off for a few more days and then try elsewhere. If you have a number for them please send it.
Thanks again, I love this forum and I am happily counting down the nights - only 16 sleeps till we go, Yay!!0 -

Have you had a quote from Last Minute Travel ? They are the biggest travel operator on the island and are usually fairly reasonably priced for their airport transfers. I usually use hire cars but my sister used Last Minute for her family in October and paid 60 Euros for 4 adults from Arrecife to Playa Blanca and return.........

I always use RR Autos, never had any problems with them and their cars are quite new and in good condition. Plus there are never any 'hidden charges' when you get there for extra insurance etc like some of the other firms do and the price they quote is the price you pay......

carolinerunner wrote: »Hi all,
Does anyone know if it's possible to pick up BBC radio (4 or 5 or world service in Playa Blanca? I have a worldband/short wave radio and would love to believe I'll have access to the internet but I don't have much faith in that possibility...
Many thanks in advance,
Caroline
