    Hi,
Another Q, we will be there on Christmas Day and I wondered if you could recommend somewhere nice but not too dear, ideally with a Brit food option (for some of our party ;-) and other options too,
    Many thanks in advance!

    hi Elle,

I was hoping I could pick your brains about accommodation in playa blanca....

I will be travelling along with 6 adults to lanzarote for a week on 11th february 2012. there will be 3 couples and a single adult so will require 4 bedrooms, 3 of them being doubles.

we are undecided as to book a hotel on a half board or all inclusive basis or to find a nice villa in the resort and use any money saved by doing this towards eating costs for the week.

so I would be very graTeful if you could recommend any nice villas in the resort that fit our requirements, or give your opinion on the 'papagayo arena' hotel in the resort which we have priced up should this be the option for us.

thanks for any advice you can share for us ,

    kind regards,
    simon
    :-)

We stayed with Optima Villa's (which you can google). They were nice and cheap the villa was lovely with our own private pool and the resort was a short walk away.

Caroline - We ate breakfast + lunch in every day then only had to pay for dinner every night. We found this quite cheap but then there were only two of us :D
  • Hello

We're off to costa teguise next thursday, can anyone recommend excursions with 6 yr & 2 1/2 yr old? Thanks to this thread i'll be booking via last minute in the town rather than with our travel agent to save some money.

  • Hello, what a great thread that I've just happened to stumble on!! We're travelling to Playa Blanca a week Sat with a 3.5yr old - we've been to Lanzarote twice previously as a couple, but this is the first time with our daughter & wondered if anyone had any ideas on what we could do - we've done the usual sights already so know what would suit there, but is there anything particularly child orientated that we would've missed as a couple? We have a pool with the villa & of course beaches always entertain little ones, but alternatives ideas to those would be very much appreciated - thank you in advance, Nicola x

The Princess Yaiza hotel has a children's activity centre called Kikoland and it is open to non-residents. It costs about 10 euros for the day and the children are supervised at all times in a secure environment. There are rides and various activities going on all day and they split the children into different age groups (0-4, 5-10, 10-14) so your little one will be with others of the same age. There are bars and cafes in the complex for you to chill out and watch your child having fun. I can highly recommend it.
Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............

    Hello

Was hoping someone could recommend a good hotel A1, with childrens club for a 12 year old boy.......We usually go the Sol Mirlos in Palma Nova and have been Tenerife, was thinking of Lanzarote but some opinions would be good. Thanks:)
  • Thanks Derwent, we will definitely check that out - sounds like something our daughter would love (and so would we ;))

    Hi everyone.

Want to go to Lanzarote for New Year and would like to fly out Tuesday 27th Dec.
Can you friendlies advise on a good 3 or 4 star hotel for couples. We like a New Year Gala night too. Was looking to go to Puerto Calero but after looking at your PB thread and how much you like it - maybe we should go there? Help please ..... kind wishes.
  • Well done. Super blog. Very informative. My friend and I will be spending this Christmas in Playa Blance, arriving on Christmas Eve. Can you please tell me if there will be any supermarkets open late on 24 December. If everything goes according to plan we should arrive in PB circa 6 p.m. Also could you please recommend a restaurant where we could eat on Christmas Day. If you could also let us have a telephone number we could book before leaving the UK in order to ensure we can get a reservation. Many thanks.
  • Hi everyone - and I'm so sorry about the delay! I must have missed a notification, and then I don't think it sends any more until you visit the thread.

Hi LazyLady - I just got a message to say my Inbox was full, and that you'd tried to PM me... fell free to resend it as I've empited out some old stuff now. To answer your questions... ... you will struggle to find a supermarket open late on Xmas Eve... but let me know roughly where you'll be staying and I'll see what I can find out. For Xmas Dinner - try https://www.labocainarestaurant.com - their phone number should be on the website and I know the menus are because my hubby built the site and added the menu recently.

Fruitpie - you're just a little early for Timanfaya Palace, as it's going adult only next year. But for 3 or 4 star have a look at that one as well as Iberostar Papagayo, Iberostar Lanzarote Park, Natura Palace, Rubicon Palace, Hesperia Dorada. All of these should have gala nights on. I have to say that friends of ours go to the Gala in Pauerto Calero every year and love it. I'd say it's great if you just want to stick to your hotel, or just walk a short way to a few restaurants... but for more variety I'd go to PB. Have a great time!

Derwent - thanks for jumping in and helping! xx

Aaroncaz - have a look at Iberostar Papagayo. They have heated pools, anmd friends of ours always stay there AI when over with their boys. It's a bit far out for my tatse... but if you're going AUI anyway, then it may suit you.

BloominFreezin - got your PM, and am so pleased you had a good time!

    Elle xx xx xx
    I'm not easily distracted, I just... ... ... oh my god it's a puppy!!
