  • Thanks Ellie, I've made a mental note re Arrieta, and El Chupadero looks fab. I'll watch out for the heat and make sure I'm well hydrated :D

Waiting for our lift to Manc Airport at the mo. Thanks again, see you soon x
  • You're welcome! Have a fantastic time xxxxx

Hello Derwent - Playa Burgados is very nice. Yes it is a bit further out, but nowhere in PB is really too far away from the centre, so you'll be fine! Enjoy! Sandy is a popular chap around the resort isn't he? xxxxx

Thanks for the reply, we'll have a hire car anyway for during the day (I can highly recommend RR Autos) and I believe there are buses every 15 mins in the evening into town if we don't feel like walking !

As for Sandy, he is a legend ! He's become a good friend over the years - I often to talk to him on the phone when I need cheering up !
Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............
  • We're enjoying now our stay in Playa Blanca. Today we've visited the visitors centre Timanfaya. An idea for the people who will go there too. Take your own headphone in the centre. Its allowed, and you can hear the explanation of the movie they show there.
Uh, sorry for my bad english, I'm from the Netherlands.

Elle, thanks for the tip of supermarket Hiperdino regular in the harbour. They have good stuff there for reasonable prices. And Elle, also for putting in more sun in Lanzarote. It is very nice with such a warm temperature. Lovely.
  • Glad you're having a good time love! The heatwave warning didn't materialise... but it is still lovely to have the heat! I did tell you I had ordered some extra for you :D Has your husband been diving yet? Has he enjoyed himself?

That movie in the Timafaya Visitors Centre is terrible isn't it? Very old... and it seems very angry about tourism. Sadly, not many people go to that centre as they don't realise it exists.

  • My husband has already taken 8 dives with Diving Center. Were good and interesting dives. Seen a lot of species. I love Lanzarote!
  • Hi Elle,

Thanks so much for all the brilliant information you've been posting. We're going to Playa Blanca (a villa somewhere in the very far east of the resort i think...) in October with 3 kids aged 4-7. Do you know if there are any restaurants that are child friendly in that neck of the woods? I think we're pretty close to the Congelado Ropers supermarket that you recommended in your first post on this thread.
    Thanks very much. Madie
  • Hola Bransby!

You're a bit thin on the ground for restaurants around there I'm afraid. There are a couple of cafes (in the entrance to Ropers). However... there is a free bus that runs every half an hour into mid evening... or a taxi would be about €5 each way to the town centre. The nearest group of restaurants would be at the Marina, which is about a 45 minute walk along the promenade from your villa.

As for child friendly - they all are... so don't worry about that.

    Hope that helps!

    Elle xx

  • Hi Elle, We're staying at the Kamezi Villas in Playa Blanca in mid October, what good beaches(near by) and attractions are there for me, my husband and my two children 12 and 13? Also would the sea be good for swimming? Many thanks xx
  • Hi Elle, thanks to your recommendations and advice we had a wonderful time on Lanzarote. We hired a car for three days and went to most of the main tourist spots with Los Hervidouros, El Golfo and El Grifo (at La Geria) firm favourites. La Bocaina was fab too and the staff made us feel most welcome. We would definitely return to the Princesa Yaiza as it was faultless. We envy you living on this spectacular island ..... Enjoy!
