Hi love! Not too early at all - some of our clients are already getting Christmas day bookings in! Christmas has been wall to wall sunshine and blue skies for the last 5 years I've been here... and people have said it's always like that. You can get a bit of cloud sometimes but the temps are usually around 22 degrees C. It's chilly at night though, so bring a fleece or a jumper, and some jeans.

  • Getting very excited now. This time next week we will be on the plane and over half way there! :T I last stayed in Costa Teguise when I was about 14 and now I am 25. :D

Just printed bus timetables off...not hiring a car so will be using the buses. Hopefully get to Puerto Del Carmen for a day and C!sar Manrique's house using the buses.

Really? The bus timetable (number 31 I think) says it goes there from Costa Teguise? Someone also told me they went on the bus from Costa Teguise (Playa Bastian stop) and it wasn't far at all and about 2 Euros.

    Phew!

Thanks, will do. Would have liked to have got to Playa Blance one of the days but would cost too much from our budget. We only just managed to save the holiday (OH out of work for 3 months and holiday was booked before this) so money is a bit tight considering we are self catering for 2 weeks. I've been to Playa Blanca before but wanted OH to see it. Nevermind, one day!

    Hi motherb.

If you like Tipico Canario, then do try the following too:

Cervantes, which is on the High Street behind the promenade. Opposite side of the road to the church, and back towards the farmacia
El Horno do Abuela (Granny's Kitchen). Stand with the church on your left, and the main high street behind you. You'll see a car park ahead of you and on both sides. Head to the far right hand end of it. It's in the same stretch as the rear entrance to The Galeria... but to the left of it. Feels like sitting in someone's sitting room, but the food is hearty and great value.

For pizzas, head for The Italian Job in CC Papagayo (Burger King complex behind Playa Dorada). We went to an Italian in the Marina at the weekend and were very disappointed. *Sorry Fabio - we'll never go elsewhere again!*

La Chalanita - first floor to the left of Pedros as the sea is behind. Just to the left of the town centre beach. Flambeed steaks a speciality - never had anything other than a great meal in there. Hubby find the food very rich, but myself and my friends all love it.

La Bocaina - up by the petrol station on the entrance into the town. Absolute favourite. British owned restaurant serving fine dining. Similar prices to up level seafront... but at a far higher quality. We go there for special occasions... but you guys are on holidays, so do spoil youorselves. They do a cheaper "Early Bird" menu too. https://www.labocainarestaurant.com

These are merely my favourites - and only my opinion... but consistently have provided me with excellent food.

The weather should e lovely hon!

Hi Angela. Are you after a hotel? Or private accommodation?

Weather is warm with temps around 20 - 23 degrees. Small risk of rain. Can be overcast but it usually burns off by late morning. The sea is swimmable. Evenings can drop a little in temperature, but a light jacket or a wrap will be fine for you.
