sorry ellie, forgot to say, possibly all inclusive, maybe a hotel thats more geared towards people in 20's rather than families sort of thing,
just thinking of some ideas where we could go in the summer
thanks0 -
Hi again. If it's summertime that you're thinking of... then all the hotels will have kiddies in them. However, there is a rumour flying about that the Rubicon Palace is going adult only - which could be just the ticket for you. Try contacting them direct and see if they can tell you.
It's a nice hotel, and I do believe they do all inclusive as well. It's about a 30 minute stroll into town along the promenade... and has a couple of super restaurants very close by... as well as La Marea which is a beautiful chill out lounge bar.
If you really want to push the boat out - then it has to be the Princesa Yaiza Hotel. That one is smack bang in the centre and superb! They don't do AI though I'm afraid.
I hope that gives you a couple of things to think about - but do yell if you have any more questions.

thanks, yes thats the problem with the summer and kids,
whats it like weather wise in say september, is it still warm0 -
Oh September is my favourite month of the year for weather! It's still hot (mid to high 20s Celsius)... but with less of a wind than July & August. Flight prices drop right down then too.

Hi Elle,
I'm coming to Playa Blanca tomorrow for a week, staying in the Villas Susaeta - Can't wait.
Having recently come out of hospital after a mild heart attack, i'm wondering how far it will be to walk into town from the villa and whether it is on the flat or not.
Also, as we are self-catering, where are the best supermarkets to purchase fresh produce, meat & fish?
Thanks for information you've given on this thread. It's nice to be given accurate unbiased information.
Here's to a great week in PB :beer:0 -
Hello there Andy. I hadn't heard of these villas... but a quick Google told me where they were. You're about a 20 minute gentle stroll from town there - or a 10-12 minute brisk walk. It's on the flat though... so no worries there. Click this link and there's a clickable map on there for you: http://www.villassusaeta.com/localizacion_eng.asp
There are 2 supermarkets that will sort you out. One is Hiperdino. Come out of your villa and head back to the MAIN road. Turn right and head up to the big roundabout and you'll see the Estacion de Guaguas on the other side of the roundabout. Take that exit, but stay on the left hand side of the street. Walk past the bus stop and you'll soon reach a building with large piccies of fruit and veg in the windows. That's Hiperdino, and you reach it by heading round the left hand side of it. That will sort you out for most things.
However... Ropers is better for meat and fish (and veggies usually too) but is a bit further to get to. I would advise you get the bus (from the bus stop opposite the Estacion de Guaguas) and ask for "Ropers". It's €1.20 each way. Or a taxi back would cost you about €4 (maybe slightly less) and there's a rank right outside Ropers.
Good luck and have a fantastic time!

Thanks for the quick response Elle,
We are going to hire a car, so hopefully the shopping should not be a problem. Have you an address for Ropers?
Right, better finish packing. 6.15 flight in the morning. What is the weather like? and what is it likely to be?
Cheers,
Andy.0
