Excellent - have a great time! And please do pop back afterwards and let us know how you get on.
    Enjoy Costa Teguise! xxxx
Just as i was about to bbok for Lua bay Hotel, found out from hotel website that the leisure facilities are not available until July :(
Which is a shame as the hotel advertises it self as open from 1st April.

Can you recommend any other good hotel in central location suitable for families in this area or Play Blanca?
My agent did offer me the Los Zocos Hotel or Beatriz Spa in Costa Teguise but not sure about the mixed reviews these have been given.

Beatriz Spa is fine - friends of ours got married there recently. I can't comment on Los Zocos I'm afraid... as I haven't been in there. Maybe someone else can comment?

For Playa Blanca - see message #265 in this thread.

I'll also drop you a PM in a second with a place where you can find some Costa Teguise fans that can probably help.

Just decided and booked the Luabay, although the leisure facilities are not available :(.
Any tips for good travel agent nearby who can organise some island tours and any good markets/shops to buy some cheap gifts/clothes to bring back home.
Also is worth getting a car hire or is the local bus system any good to get around?
thanks again..cant wait and get some sun :j

    Nice and simple this one...
For Excursion Agents... there is one about a 10 minute walk from your hotel. The easiest way to direct you is... come out of your hotel (front entrance) and walk forwards until you reach the main road where the large car park is. Turn right there, and then turn right again into Avenida de Las Islas Canarias (large supermarket on the opposite corner). It is a couple of hundred yards up there on the left. It is called Last Minute Travel. Do compare the deals with those available in your hotel, but LMT should be way cheaper.
There is a market in Costa Teguise with gift stuff... but do book an excursion to the Teguise Markert which is held on a Sunday morning - that will have all the gifts you're after. Worth popping into the Bulldog Bar, just outside your hotel and asking for Sarah. They used to organise trips up to the market at great prices, including a roast dinner when you get back - so they might still do it. Failing that, Last Minute Travel will do it anyway. Also, there is a direct bus... details of this are on the bus website referred to below.
The bus service is good between Costa Teguise, Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen... although not quite as frequent down to Playa Blanca. Also, it's not great for getting to the tourist places such as Timanfaya. The timetables are on https://www.arrecife.es (there's a button on there to view the site in English).
    Good luck!

Can anybody recommend a company who can guarantee child seats for children for airport transfers to and from Playa Blanca? There will be 4 of us in total, 2 adults and two children who will be aged 4 and nearly 2.

    Thanks

  • Hi Elle

We are looking to come to Playa Blanca later in the year and are looking at Private Villas with Private Pools and wanted to book somewhere that is about 15-20 minute walk to the beach, shops and evening entertainment. We have been looking at Faro Park, but from what I have seen its more like a 30 minute walk. Are you able to advise the best area?

Yeah - Faro Park is a bit far out if that's the distance you're after, honey. And it's more like a 45 minute walk to the Towhn Centre... as are areas such as La Goleta, and Los Coloradas

Look at... Parque Del Rey, Montaña Roja, Marina Rubicon, Los Calamares, Los Claveles, Vista Lobos, Playa Flamingo, Costa Papagayo.

That should keep you going for starters!

    Good luck

Bear in mind some of the villas in Costa Papagayo are advertised as 4 bed villas, but the design of the villas means they are actually two 2 bed villas which can be used as a 4 bed if that makes sense, the main problem being that half of the villa is a basement unit with no clear nature light. so check very carefully on the descriptions given before booking
ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.
