Hello there ghostdog my lovely! I will see what I can do about the clouds... but it's horrible here right now! Well actually I am exaggerating slightly as today was a slight improvement on yesterday - but I hear there's more rain this weekend. Typical as I'll be out in it all day Sunday (I'll just have to stay in a bar eh?)
    Have a great time hon!

    Hi Elle

We are currently staying in Playa Blanca.

I have read your info with great interest.

It is a really useful thread.

Just one question which wines do you recommend, we have already made a few mistakes from the supermarket and you mentioned a Rose and a carton wine.?

    Thanks

Hi there hon. Glad you'ce finding the thread useful!

Ros! I can't really help with... but the dry white carton one is "Supersol". You can get it in Hiperdino and it comes in a pale green and white box. Its price varies between €0.65 and €87. It's far from being a "fine wine"... but when chilled, it goes down a treat! The ros! version of it isn't TOO bad.

You could also try "Liria". They do a red, ros!, medium white and dry white. I like the dry, which has a dark green label... the medium has an orange label. Should knock you back a ocuple of euros a bottle, but is available in most supermarkets.

The nicest of the cheapo wines though, in my humble alcoholic opinion, is Tochuelo. That one you get from Spar and is anything between €1.30 and €2.30 depending on how quickly it sells. I really like that one... and find it quite like Pinot Grigio.

For decent local wines... try Bermejo - it's available direct from the vineyards... or you can grab it from the wine man at the Rubicon market on Weds and Sat mornings. Also worth trying is one of the local Malvasias (but NOT Vega de Yuco which I find quite vile) - just lovely!

    Chin chin love! xxxx

    What a star you are!

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply so promptly.

    Right off to the supermarket!

We are staying at the back of the Marina Rubicon so will look for the little wine man on Wednesday.

    Thanks again

    You're very welcome Anneliza. Enjoy!
You're staying somewhere quite close to my home... so there's a Hiperdino not far from you - it's opposite the Iberostar Hotel.
Might have a glass or two myself this evening... and definitely on Wednesday as we have friends joining us at Casa A&E (Alan & Elle) for dinner.

PS: I see this forum doesn't like my Spanish keyboard... and won't post a little "e" (from Rose) with the accent on top - but hopefully you knew what I meant anyway.

    Hello motherb!

Sun Tropical is very similar to Sun Park. I think it may be part of the same group of hotels... but don't quote me on that. If you were happy with Sun Park, then you'll be fine with Sun Tropical.

    Have a lovely time honey!
