Hi Elle
This is such a helpful thread.
We are coming to Playa Blanca in February.
Do you know anywhere that hires out mobility scooters?
Regards

Hi Anneliza. Glad you're finding it helpful!
Yes... you can hire the scooters from Island Mobility:

Most of Playa Blanca is fairly flat... and there are a good amount of ramps about for you - although it's still not as well thought out as Ireland and the UK.
Enjoy!

Hi Elle1971/anyone who's used these hotels!!
Thanks for your wonderful guide!,
We are thinking of coming there with kids from 17th dec for a week, the 2 hotels in our price range are the Dream Castillo Papagayo or lti Dream Gran Castillo, which one would you recommend?
Also, weather wise is dec a good idea?!, my aching bones badly need some sun!!
Thanks in advanceNo one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
Hi Shay's Mum... and thanks for your kind wordsa bout the guide.
I can't comment on the Gran Castillo I'm afraid, as I've never been in. But I do know that the Papagayo is excellent! Hopefully someone else can pop in and give you their feedback too.
December is warm and perfect for the bones. Average temps around 23 degrees celsius. I have crippling hip pain during the winter in the UK... mainly because of the damp mixed with the cold - but here it is no longer an issue... and I am painkiller free!!!! So your bones will feel the benefit. You do run the risk of a bit of rain (last December had a fair bit) but this won't be for your whole holdiay... and you will certainly get a tan. Don't expect an Australian beach... but for warm sunny days, you can't go too far wrong. Bring a jacket and long trousers or long skirt for the evenings though - you'll need those as the temps will drop to about 18 degrees.

Yes we did and weather was lovely. We bbq ed around our pool and ate at valdero on the front which was good. Also the royal ? chinese on the main road down to the front as well as others. All the meals were of a good standard. We also had a day at rancho texas which was fun and PB market which was really cheap. Totally loved it and will be looking to go next year0
