Hello there - speak to Karsten at www.t4you.eu - if he can't help... he may be able to suggest someone who can.

Many thanks Elle, got a prompt and helpful response from Karsten.

We are thinking of staying at the Princesa Yaiza, read lots of reviews, is it as good as it sounds?

    Karsten's a good lad - he'll look after you.

Yes the Princesa Yaiza is a wonderful hotel! You won't be disappointed. Go find the tropical garden on the lowest floor - great place to hide with a good book. There is also a tunnel that links the two parts of the hotel, and there are aquariums lining the walls down there.

Do book into the Japanese restaurant in there one evening. It's my favourite restaurant ever! The duck liver is to die for... and the King Prawns are amazing! Just go easy on the saki though... it tends to make you suffer the next morning lol (or maybe that's just the quantity we were downing ha ha)

    Enjoy!

Thanks Elle, no chance of hiding with a good book though with a 4 and a 2 year old in tow!

    Hi Elle,

Came across this thread by accident. Looking to book our holidays sooner than later. We had been looking at Corfu but comparing prices Lanzarote looks better value! The first villa we have been looking at is in Puerto Del Carmen but OH is put off by closeness of Airport.
Since finding this thread have since found villas in Playa Blanca.
How do both towns compare please?

    Hiya!
If it is only the proximity of the airport that is putting your partner off... then don't worry! Avoid Matagorda and possibly Los Pocillos and you'll be fine. Anywhere in the centre of PdC or in the Old Town part... and you'll be absolutely fine. Other benefits of PdC are that it is larger... so more bars and restaurants. It's cheaper to get to from the airport, and is fairly central for exploring.

Benefits of Playa Blanca are that it is a newer (and therefore shinier) resort. Playa Blanca is more popular with couples and families... whereas PdC has more to offer a younger crowd.

Your teen boys will certainly be happy in either resort - especially if they like beaches and the sports associated with that.

Hope that helps a little... but do yell if you have any other questions.

Hi there Monty Zoomer (great username by the way!)

I can't comment on individual villas... but it's worth having a look at such sites at www.ownersdirect.com and www.lanzarotelates.com to nab yourselves a bargain.

A good friend of ours got a wicked deal on a villa with the second of those two sites a couple of weeks ago. It was booked at the last possible moment though... so it was a late deal discount.

Thanks for that, Elle - some amazing villas there - seems to be the flights that are expensive for a family now

Yeah - being tied to school holidays makes it really pricey, doesn't it?

Have a look at https://www.skyscanner.net as that might help.

Sorry honey - I can't help with that one. Perhaps someone else can?
