My OH's family are coming to visit on Saturday. His Mum, Sister (37) and (28). Yes they come as a special offer.....invite 1 get 2 free
I can't say i'm over joyed at the prospect as their sole topic of conversation is DVD's.
My main problem is his Sister who smells awful. She rarely washes herself or her clothes and her house is rotten. She constantly smells of sweatty minge.
OH has to pick them up as they live 30 miles away and none of them drives. The car reeks after shes been in it including the seat which has to be Fabrezed.
We've had a lot of work done to our house lately which I know OH wants his Mum to see (understandibly). I know the house will stink when she's there and i'm having palpitations thinking about her smelly bum sitting on my new suite
[/B
She had an operation last July and the nurse told her not to bend over the sink to wash her hair (meaning for a while until the anaesthetic had worn off incase she felt faint etc) You've guessed it........she still hasn't washed it, presumably on medical grounds :rotfl:
On top of this she's always wanting to borrow money and sort of hovers round OH all day trying to get him on his own so she can ask him. He finds it hard saying no and tries to avoid her.
We only ever actually invite his Mum the other 2 just invite themselves. Neither his brother or sister have ever had a relationship or partner and don't really have friends outside of the family.
Would I be out of order requesting Sister In law has a bath before visiting especially as we have a 2 year old she always want to have on her knee etc ?
Or should I shove a bit of Vicks up each nostril and open a window?

How does a brown cow give white milk, when it only eats green grass?

No tell the smelly cow she's not allowed round yours untill she has a bath.I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0

If you have to have her put a cushion on the seat of the car that you can throw away when she has gone. Put a throw on the sofa that you can dump as well and tell the dirty hag to get a blinking hose down, whats up with her.
But....... having said all that she may have severe depression and need a bit of soft handling and a nice approach. I feel for you. We have one side of the family where if I invite my father in law I get a whole host of them turning up!0 -
Yeeeeeuch how disgusting. IMHO there really is no need for anyone to be unclean these days. Does the mum not notice the 'aroma'?
I really don't know how to suggest that she has a bath before coming round though without just being blunt about it. What does your OH say? Can he approach her?0 -

Is there anyway you can just have the MIL round.
Seems a bit cheeky that the others tag along.
Might be worth making the stand on that point rather than the odour.0 -
Just keep looking around where shes sitting and ask if she can smell anything because you think something has gone off;)Is there anyway you can just have the MIL round.

While they`re at yours, can you keep sniffing the air and saying " Whats that smell ? its awful " ask if anyone else can smell it as well! She might just take the hint or her mum will.0

Is it possible that this is perhaps a psychological problem rather than just a physical one? Maybe she is ill?nothing to see here, move along...0

How do you know what a sweaty minge smells like?
:rotfl: :rotfl:
If it was a member of your family and your OH said they didn't want them calling, because they stank, how would you feel?
It's not forever, it's only a short visit, it's not going to kill you, so I don't see the problem.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
