Hi Rzl, I'm glad you enjoyed the performance (if not the drama!).I hope the poor soul in the Circle is OK.
Ack I meant to tell you yesterday about the long distance from the station to the centre in MK, sorry. Hope your feet aren't too sore today, ouch!
It's OK, I won't go on about it on hereI'm not an opera lover myself although lots of members of my choir are. We're more into Palestrina and Lassus really although any music is good music I suppose.
We could have done with the missing bods last night though, there were only six sops and altos!
Have a good weekend

Rzl you can talk about opera as much as you like, I love but haven't been to a live performance for 10 years now.
There was an incident at school today in Katy's class, one boy kicked another boy in the bo***cks, unfortunately Katy sent an all staff email to inform us that one of the boys had left her classroom, she used the word I used above, with no asterisks in it. She received another reprimand, but explained that it was the word she was used to using! I had to offer her a few alternatives that she would do better to use next time.
Hugs Hester

About 50% of the stuff we sing in church choir (which is one-to-a-part) is this sort of thing - we also do Haydn, Mozart and quite a lot of twentieth century English and French stuff, plus pieces written for us by our organist.
This is us: www.annunciationmarblearch.org
(Or rather, this is the church - there's very little about the choir on the website, though plenty about the organ and organist!)Operation Get in Shape

Hi all - just sat down with a quick cuppa. The day has completely run away from me today; I haven't had time to read the thread since my early morning post but will try to later.
(((Hugs))) to all in need and will see you later.

Hiya! :hello:
Smokybabe :grouphug:
Churchmouse Sorry about your DH's foot. When DD1 broke her thumb about 18 months ago, I originally thought it was sprained and I told her to stop fussing! She reminds me about it on a regular basis. :rotfl:
Big hugs to those who are unwell or are nursing unwell family members.
My DD1 has been off school today with a sore throat and chest and as I'm not working this week I made the decision to keep her off school. I'm glad I did as she's spent most of the day lying on the couch.
Yesterday I went to town with my mum and we had a nice lunch and did some shopping. I was very good and didn't spend much and picked up some bargain clothes for the girls in Primark. Today I finally did the schoolwork that I've been putting off.:j
DH is going to an old friend's 50th birthday party in Leicester tomorrow. We were both invited but I told him to go with one of his mates, as then we don't need to arrange babysitters etc. To be honest I'm looking forward to watching the new series of Dr Who with the girls. How sad am I?:rotfl:
Tonight's tea is hm pizza and potato wedges followed by Easter eggs (not for me).
Have a good evening!:D0 -
Evening all
Haven't been on here for a few days, too busy writing an essay and working nights. Now finished until 21st. Off to Feurteventura (sp) on Sunday :j . Need to clean the house, have made a start but I'm too tired to do anymore. DSS and his GF are going to cat sit for us whilst we're away.
Hugs to you Smokey and your children.
Hugs to anyone else who wants one. I hope people get a better sleep tonight. Off to put washing away. DS at neighbours house bouncing on the trampoline. Roll on bedtime!0 -
Afternoon/evening all!
I haven't been on here for a while, as I had a bit of a bad few days with the M.E., then we decided to go to the Ideal Home Show on Wednesday if I was well enough, so spent a couple of days trying to rest as much as possible. We enjoyed the Show, though it was very tiring. Some people we spoke to who go every year said it wasn't as good as usual this year. Apparently it's usually on two floors, and this year it wasn't. We ordered a new dining table and chairs, as it was a really good deal - hadn't expected to be buying furniture  but we do need a new table and chairs. The one we've ordered seats four, but extends to seat eight. We fell in love with a leather sofa too, but it was a "Stressless" one and even at the special discount they were offering at the Show it was £1600, so we decided to pass on that:p
Smokybabe -((((HUGS))))
Martyn -((((HUGS)))) to you too
Penny-Pincher - I don't know if you'll see this, but if you do, (((HUGS))) and I hope you have a lovely break.
Welcome to all our new posters! It's very nice here.:A
I was hoping to get quite a lot done yesterday in between resting from the day before, but DD2 rang in the morning to say she thought DGS (20mo) had chackenpox, and would I mind having a look? So she picked me up, and when we got back to her house I had a look at him, and sure enough it was chickenpox. I suppose his 3mo sister is bound to get it as well. DGS is farly happy in himself as it were, just very spotty
Dinner is chicken balti - sadly it's not HM today as I'm still trying to rest:rolleyes: .
Cottage pie tomorrow though.
Forgot to say we went to Lidl today for the first time, as DH wanted to get one of their strimmers. I was quite inpressed with their range of food, and of course we had to try their chocolate
Love to everyone

Evening everyone...
This will be short because I have a terrible headache.
Haven't read any of the other messages, so I just hope everyone's alright.
I had a job interview today (second round, so that's already good). I had to do some tests and I think I did very well, although I clammed up more than a bit during the final "presentation" - well I didn't know I would have to do that, so I wasn't prepared! I have to wait a week before they tell me whether I've got the job or not.
Love to everyone. I also wanted to thank you for being so nice to me from the word go. You are all lovely.

Hello all,
I'm new to MSE and this thread, I've been reading for a couple of days and feel like joining in, you're all so friendly!
My OH's 2 x DDs are with us tonight, they normally stay sat to sun but he's working sat eve and sun morn so it made more sense to change to fri-sat. We've had fish cakes and fish fingers for tea, not sure how OS that is but OH buys them from some wholesale place at the docks so they're really cheap (£4 for 32 fishcakes!) and taste good. The DW is not only on but I've also remembered to set the timer on it so it washes overnight rather than forgetting and having to put it on in the morning.
I'll go and continue browsing the site, there's so much to learn!
Bye for now,
Gena xx0 -
Hiya, had our hm pizza and it was lovely.
Forgot to say before, but if you go through Quidco and place a bet/bets of at least £10 on the Grand National tomorrow then you will get £50 cashback and your horse might win.
We get quite excited by the Grand National up here since it's in Liverpool. My brother lives just around the corner from it and my SIL goes to the Ladies Day and then he goes to the big race on Saturday. I've never been, but I always place a bet and watch it on the tv.
One year my DH won a competition in our local paper and the prize was VIP tickets to the race with transport and a posh meal thrown in and a free bet on a horse. Unfortunately we couldn't go, as he was playing in his football team's cup final and he was the goalkeeper and I was suffering from terrible morning sickness with DD1. His friend and wife went instead and had a great time but our horse came first and we won £250! :rotfl:0
